on Big Brother UK, the housemates were giving a task to clean the house.  As a treat, they got to listen to "soft" rock ballads.
They were all air guitaring etc to November rain

The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien.

Conan does this "celebrity survey" bit and one part was:  "Most people wouldn't know my real name is ...."

and Axl was the first one on the list (even though they got it wrong, they used a nice pic of Axl).

Martha Stewart's was next and the "joke" one was Rob Zombie said his real name was Dave Zombie.

They used the MTV 2006 picture, if I'm not mistaken.

Why was he pissed?

Apparently, the TMZ kid is a BIG Guns N' Roses fan (last halloween he dressed up as 1988-ish Axl) and he said something like Adam Levine was too "poppy."

Oh yeah!  We hit the jackpot here.

Axl is a staple of primetime television programming on Wednesdays.

In the new Patricia Heaton sitcom, "The Middle" one of the characters is named AXL!!!!!

8:30/7:30 Central on ABC.

The show is set in Indiana.

Someone from TMZ (who bases their entire existence around stalking celebrities and pop stars) complaining about something being too "poppy"??

Just a follow up on my post from yesterday:

CHARACTER BIO

Axl, the oldest son of Frankie and Mike Heck, was conceived during what might be remembered as the Guns 'n' Roses period in the Heck household. He might be a typical teenage jock who eats his mom and dad out of house and home, but do you know many teenage boys who like walking around the house in their underwear? Yeah, neither do we.

I don't know if it makes a difference but in case it does I don't want that TMZ kid to get blamed for a word I used.

That show was replayed on the weekend after the original aired and I believe the term the TMZ kid actually used was "pop rock".

Either way, he didn't seem to be a fan of Mr. Levine's music.

Just saw an episode of Late Night with Conan O'Brien (I think it was from Thursday night).  They did a sketch about Barbershop Quartets and Conan dressed up as an old time member and told some ladies that his grandfather used to sing a song on the circuit.  He then belted out the lyrics to Welcome to the Jungle.

It only lasted 30 seconds or so, but it's something.

It's actually the featured video on the website right now.  The GNR part comes on with 2:05 remaining.

There's a Canadian Jeep commercial that flashes the words, "Welcome to the Jungle."
