While not a movie or tv reference, arguably the greatest triathlete in the world today, Chris "Macca" McCormack, just tweeted:

"@MaccaNow: #GunsNRoses Appetite for Destruction pumping on todays run. Quality Album. Anyone give me the modern day equivalent? Didn't think so!" Have a great weekend!"

Hey GNR management, the man's a legend, somebody hook this Aussie up with some tickets!   yes

On "Parks and Recreation" this week they had a gala that featured lookalikes of Indiana's most famous celebrities. Including Orville Redenbacher, Latoya Jackson, Axl Rose, and David Letterman.

I love Shameless! BTW WARM BODIES was the #1 movie in America!

I saw that last night and noticed it. Patience, and they showed the vinyl of AFD. And it was nowhere near as crap as Twilight so that's a plus.
Glad you liked it. Since Patience is in it, it is a definite must have for my Bluray collection. R is the new Edward. hihi

GN'R and Axl Rose were referenced on this weeks episode of Tosh.O in a segment in which the lyrics of Novemer Rain were posted on the screen.

Awesome use of Sweet Child O' Mine in the series finale of The Office.
Dwight Schrute finally marries Angela.
Walking down the aisle, Sweet Child is playing.
It's an instrumental version slowed down...but it was still very nice.
I was like, "That's fuckin' great!"

It's funny...I was watching, and the music started.  I was like "Is that...Huh"
And my wife said "Hey, that's sweet child!!!".

It was an awesome touch.

How about the Johnson and Johnson commercial.  Look it up on youtube.  Smells like a sell out to me.  Just my opinion of course.

its business as usual these days. Everybody does it.

I did like the SCOM placement in The Office. A highlight of the show.

I don't mind using their songs in movies, tv shows...

But really in a Johnson and Johnson commercial.  I mean they all have to sign off on it, the original 5.

I am a purist is all.  I don't think they need the money, and who knows how much they made, I just didn't think Axl would ever sign off on that kinda thing.  The Harly commercial was ok, wasn't that mad, I mean Gn'R and motorcylces a good combo....

Again just my humble opinion....

Its a fantastic song, it crosses lots of boundaries, young and old, black or white, rich or poor, everybody can empathise with this song and each can relate to the lyrics. Its not selling out, its keeping a classic timeless... In case you haven't noticed, GnR do love songs, I get the biker thing, the PC video had touches of "toughness" through out it, as did the majority of AFD. But I know more people who don't care a jot about the band, but they love this song in all styles, the Taken by Trees version for the very middle class and affluent targeting John Lewis stores in the UK, being a prime example, or the one by Sheryl Crowe.
