This brings up all sorts of questions, Gn'R questions:
For BF to focus on his own work, does that mean he has nothing more to do on CD.

Yes. All the recording is done since february (or january?).

Apart from play live with Gn'R has he had input into the album? maybe he hasn't.

Yes. He even recorded rhythm parts with an old les paul, to give the new songs the old rock vibe.

If BF is focusing on his on project, do we assume Gn'R have no plans to tour for a while?

We don't know, but like Mysteron said, there isn't anything scheduled right now.

So my question is:  Does he really take fire safety seriously and was only joking in his tourblog?  OR is he joking in his bio and seriously needs a breathmint!!!

Update from Ron:

Progress report:

4 solos left to play, one being Guitars Still Suck, saving that for last. 6 acoustic guitar tracks to lay, then cellos on a few songs, and a buncha backing vocals...

Then sort dozens of vocal takes for 14 of the songs (to get a natural spontaneous legit feel, I spent the month of January going into the studio every day, singing the entire album straight through without stopping, then leaving - haven't listened to any of it yet...) Also did all the bass and rhythm guitars last month.

Then reamp all the bass and guitar tracks through better amps and mics... got some nice ribbon mics, trying some Splawn amps along with the Line6 Vetta2 and Spider3...) Then start mixing, artwork, mastering - those 3 little things that each destroy my mind while doing them... then manufacturing and promotion... fucking endless process, really feelin' it... but it's getting there, very happy with everything so far. Focused on guitar noodling right now, will edit some vids once it feels ok to take my eyes off the album for a minute.

Bumblefoot's albums rule!   Hands and Uncool are probably my favorites, but Normal is quite nice too.   That on top of his place in GnR is something GnR purists like myself get excited about

Album update 3/18

Power supply died on the studio computer, using a laptop and a USB interface, works fine.

Two more songs to sing. Said I wouldn't obsess like an anal fuck, but it needs to be this way. Digging deep, destroying myself to become something better than I am.

Re-doing some clean tracks. The amp was very punchy, I can hear the sound bouncing off the opposite wall of the room, it's pissing me off. Gonna foam up the room and re-cut some cleans.

In the next two weeks I'd like to have the cellos and backing vocals done, and start mixing. May leave some songs off the album, some seem a little un-relatable, harder to connect to. Will see after mixin'.

When this album's done, I'm gonna party like a dirty asshole.

Vocals are done.  I think.   Might hear a line or two in time that I wanna re-hit, but at this point, lead vocals are pretty much done.   Kept things natural and spontaneous, no auto-tuner or anything like that, most of the tracks aren't doubled, kept it raw.  Went with the scratch vocal tracks for some of the stuff - sometimes the first time you sing it you nail it, even though you had no intention of keeping it.

Gonna run the bass tracks through a different bass amp on Saturday and have the Swashbuckle guys lay some backing vocals.  Then I'll start mixing.  Still gotta get the cellos and backing vocals recorded over the next two weeks - that won't hold up the mixing process.

19 songs recorded, of which 5 may not make it on.  I'd rather have the strongest stuff on there, and save the rest for a "B-sides" release.

Gonna re-amp those clean guitar tracks tomorrow...

I love that Bumble is in the band.  He is such a postive influence with a great out look on everything.  I like that he is a bid supporter of being loyal to a band.  One reason I get so upset that CD is still not out is because of the band members like him who are so excited about this band.  Bumble you are a great addition to the band.  Hopefully, the whole world can see how great you are soon.
