maybe maybe not. Ive been saying that all along ok

but he could have left NIN when the other guys in NIN left or left whenever he wanted to leave for GNR. He obiviously chose NIN over NINII. Why? Hence my hopes for an interview from the bird man. Plus I always wanted hear him talk about the band and the whole process. GNR from 2001 -2006ish wasnt just about Axl for me  ok

robin communicates in his own unique way.    he has a twitter account, maybe you could ask him ther.

The respectful thing would be to write a short notice that he was leaving, thanking us for the support thru the past 10 years.
How he's doing it now is not really normal.

Maybe he intends to after the NIN tour is adjourned?

Between performing, rehearsing, eating, sleeping, etc, you'll have to excuse the guy if writing a letter is a little low on his list of priorities.

Just my own thought here, but with NIN hanging it up after this summer, do you think its possible Robin might want back in, and if so, will Axl let him back in?  Maybe wishful thinking, but I'd like to see it happen.

At this point, does it really matter?  Well, I guess he could be like everyone else.  He could tour with other bands and tell people "I'm still in Gn'R."

I'd think it would matter to Mr. Ashba.

yeah...Well...As much as I'm aware of his importance in Chinese Democracy, I don't want him back.

Why ? Well, for one because I'm really looking forward to Dj's contribution to this band ( and it would really, REALLY SUCK for him to be replaced or to have to share his spot with someone who left at
the worst possible moment ) and then also because it would really turn this band into a revolving door ( and many many people already consider it as such, which I don't agree with ).

If Finck left GnR ( and I can totally understand his reasons ) for a band that ended, that is not a valid reason for him to suddenly come back, don't y'all agree ?

At least that's my humble opinion, and I share it with myself  hihi

As far as I'm concerned, if Robin chose to come back and was accepted back, it would be like he never left in the long run.  He worked on the album, played on their last tour and now we know with NIN tour ending and going on indefinite hiaitis that he may be available to tour again by the time Gn'R hit the road.  If Ashba never plays a gig with the band I wouldn't consider him to have been a member of it.  I'm a fan of DJs work on SIXX AM and have no problem with him joining the fold, but my preference would be to see and hear the musicians that played on the album in concert.

I would like to see Robin come back. I really liked his playing. But that wouldn't be fair to DJ as well, so who knows.

This.

This x 2.

I'm grateful that DJ Ashba is in the fold and has apparently allowed the band to have some proper rehearsals and entertain the idea of touring at some point in the near future... and if he ends up with the gig... FANTASTIC. That said- Robin (and Tommy for that matter) was seemingly specifically hand-picked by Axl more than 11-12 years ago now to be an essential "core" member of the new band, his distinctive sound is all over Chinese Democracy and he really stepped up his stage presence big-time in 2006-07 such that he was a legit #2 guy next to Axl on stage. All of those things would make it very appealing- for me at least- to see Finck back in the mix IF he's up for it (which we obviously don't know)...

Whatever the case though- the band can definitely still prosper with DJ...

I'm one of Robin's biggest fans, but I think its been made clear that he has been replaced..  I don't see them kicking Ashba to the side just because Robin is free all of the sudden.

What I think happend is that Trent told Robin  this is going to be the last NIN tour do you wanna tour ? of course Robin said yes. Now thinking the album wasn't going to drop and they just got off tour, he decided to join NIN.  GnR probaly were orginally gonna tour in 09 so they needed a replacement. Since Robin was doing the NINJA tour they decided to go ahead and get Ashba.  Rumors have it that the tour has postoned to 2010, in retrospect they probaly didnt' have to hire Ashba. I think now there will be a dilema as to if its true that the tour won't start til 2010. Robin is free and does he want back in ? Does Ashba step aside ? Do they both have Robin and Ashba tour with 4 guitarist ?

Im not trying to start any rumors, Techinally Robin never left GnR ! there was no statement from himself.  Will Axl let him back in if he wants to play.  I can't see Robin not being on a GnR tour since he toured in 2002 2006-2007.

This x 1000!!!  Having seen Robin live 4 times now (twice with GnR and twice with NIN), I think he is one of the most compelling performers I have had the privilege of watching and as one of the key contributors to the album would be a valuable inclusion for the next tour.

The DJ thing might have been a little premature, heck you could have him as a song writer for any future material; however, my vote for lead guitar goes to Mr. Robin Finck.
