What people don't realize with VR also is, They'd slap that album together in like a couple months. Not really taking time to throw away the duds and really refine everything to be great.

They settled for good and thats why a lot of people don't like it.

Solid songs on there

I still sing the hell out of Let It Roll

Yet the production/mix is better than that of CD because I can hear Duff, Dave, Matt, Slash very clearly... And I like that.  I like being able to hear the bass guitar.

I think VR just couldn't reach that certain level of heavy rock n' roll that people wanted out of SLash, Duff and Matt, due to Scott's limitations and vocal range. As I have stated before, I'm not dumping on Scott, he's one of my favorite singers, even way before VR, but he is more melodically inclined and not so much raw energy. Contraband fared well as it had certain pop elements to it, but also a heavy rock n' roll atmosphere thanks to the material being wirtten pre-Scott, but it's obvious the writing on Libertad was done in a way to fit Scott's voice and what he could do best. Scott can't sing rock n' roll songs like Perfect Crime or My Michelle, his voice would be done after two minutes of either of those songs. And that, is my theory on why Libertad didn't do well...That and the fact that it sucked big fucking donkey dick.  Shocked
