yea last we heard Robin continues to be part of GN'R, by virtue of Guns' history and his involvement in Chinese Democracy.

Steven is still a part of Gn'R, by virtue of Guns' history and his involvement in AFD.  Robin is no longer a member of the band - hence the term 'officially replaces'.

I just hope any 'old' new material is not delayed by rerecording...and I'm excited by the possibility of BBF/Ashba/Fortus live, and even more so by the writing possibilities.   ok

Neither Buckethead nor Robin (whose played the solos of the song) are still in the band... Wonder if the would appear in the video. It would be very strange that a song which was put it out by Robin, don't have Robin in its video  Huh

Jesus, I can't believe a video still isn't out. For any song!
When a big band releases an album and singles they generally get a video out pretty quickly, even before or simultaneously with the release. What the hell is it with this band that everything needs to take so long and be such a chore. You'd think they'd have had all this ready. Total lack of professionalism. We've had two singles, not one video.
Forget the Better video, release a new single, actually promote it with a physical release, and have a video ready to go with it, not four months later.

when will you people realize that Robins departure derailed any and all promotional plans for CD?

If you mean live appearances, then yes, I buy that.  But not interviews.  That was a form of promotion that wasn't done until a few months after the album's release.

And on top of that, it's something that they've been aware of for a long time.  Videos can be edited, promotions can be tweaked, campaigns can be altered.  This is definitely the case since Robin has been playing with NIN for quite some time.

Cheers,

Didn't Axl say in one of the interviews that the band had wanted to make a video, but the label discouraged it?

Maybe GN'R is not such a 'big' band anymore....

You're right, Chinese Democracy was an obscure, quiet release that only the hardcore fanbase knew about... Never discussed in the world press or music industry at all, and had practically no anticipation...

what they need to do is forget about this better video now...the time has passed for it...the song has been played on radio for a bit, it would be pointless to re-release it now...in whatever format...

they should choose the next single now....(TWAT or If the World)...come up with an epic concept for it...reminiscent of Axl, circa early nineties...shoot the shit out of it...and then release that...

those songs will establish new gnr much better that cd or better have...and if videos for those are what people expect to see from Axl, then it will do even better...
