Don't listen to Falcon.
He likes his bands to be unpopular so he can see them in clubs.

Hey now - I just saw The Cult and Buckcherry in
theatres
a few months back respectively..
EDIT:
And as an aside, have blown off seeing Metallica, NIN, STP and AC/DC playing
arena
shows 5 minutes from my house..

You want great rock? Look no further than
Heaven's Basement
, they have a brilliant self-titled E.P out. They used to be called
Roadstar
and
Hurricane Party
whose albums I would definatly recommend! They sound like
GN'R
music wise &
Bon Jovi
singing wise. (They actually supported Jovi on their last tour here. That'll get D excited!)
Listen HERE
Also there is a great upcoming Scottish band called
Wired Desire
who's album you should definatly buy.
I downloaded their EP the other day to check them out and i think they're awesome

You should check out a band called
Sextapes
.
Their self-titled album is absolutely awesome!!!
Here's some links to their site and myspace plus the site and myspace of this guy
Chris Pitman*
in their band.
http://www.sextapesband.com/
http://www.myspace.com/sextapesband
http://www.chrispitman.com/
http://www.myspace.com/chrispitman
Two other artists you should check out are Tommy Stinson* and Ron Thal*.
Tommy Stinson
www.myspace.com/tommystinsonofficial
This is the REAL guy from
The Replacements
and his solo stuff is phenomenal too!!!
Ron Thal
www.bumblefoot.com
www.myspace.com/bumblefoot
This guy also goes by the name
Bumblefoot
and his two latest releases (
Barefoot
and
Abnormal
) will totally blow you away!!!
*Chris, Tommy and Ron are also in another band but the name of that other band eludes me at the moment.

Early Radiohead has some good rock songs. Try
The Bends
by them.

No Stones?
I suggest you get a few of their albums to see why they influenced so many.
/jarmo
I would recommend starting with
Let it Bleed
,
Sticky Fingers
, and
Exile on Main St
. Especially
Sticky Fingers
...one of the finest albums ever made.

Stone Roses, Blur, Suede, Elastica, Happy Mondays - all from the late 80's/early 90's "Madchester" scene..
Joy Division should be required listening before each of the above though, start at the begininng and see how the above were influenced..

For some well known ones that aren't on your list who you would probably enjoy, The Who, Pink Floyd, Tool, Alice In Chains
Edit: guess I should suggest some specific albums
The Who: Tommy
Pink Floyd: Wish You Were here
Tool: Lateralus
Alice In Chains: Dirt

Out of all those the only ones I like are Crue & LA Guns. Anyway the point I was trying to make was that he suggested he wanted new rock music not new wave stuff you suggested.
Bands like: Heaven's Basement, Wired Desire, Stone Gods, Black Stone Cherry, Get Vegas & Black Spiders are all bands I'd suggest.

The Sunset Strip stuff was said tongue in cheek, I woudn't walk across the street to see any of them.
And yes, the bands (less Stone Roses) were a bit off what the original poster was looking for.
Your Black Stone Cherry suggestion is a good one, very cool band.

Any need to rip?
anyways.
RATT were very good in their prime, as were Cinderella.
@Slash666, dont be so ignorant, half of those bands were the rave bands. That isnt new wave. Its infact very psychedelic with some awesome drumming and grooves. Stone Roses were very guitar oriented.
Blur on the other hand = lets fall asleep.
