Espn now citing a league source no Nnamdi for the Jets. They are reporting he is heading to Dallas. No agreement is final yet though.

*EDIT* now they are reporting no Dallas either.

It's the Eagles who have landed him. 5 years 60 million dollar deal.

Same here...total shock.

We'll see if they cqn stop the run. DTs r average and LBs are suspect. Might need OL help too with justice hurting. Eagles should be in the hunt, but still have some major question marks. GB is still the top team in the nfc. I have a feeling asante is gone and we will try to upgrade other areas as well.

I do love that we didnt let dallas get NA. And to all the pats fans, a big you're welcome from philly!

If Asante is gone. I wonder if the Jets will pursue him now or go to resign Cromartie.

When the Eagles landed Rodgers-Cromartie I figured they were out of the hunt for Nnamdi. The Eagles haven't even been mentioned these last couple of days. It's been all about the Jets, Cowboys and Texans. I'm kinda shocked right now.

I highly doubt they keep all three CBs. I'd rather them keep Samuel and trade Rodgers-Cromartie, but it's probably going to be the other way around. The Eagles' linebackers are still very suspect, especially with Stewart Bradley no longer there. Maybe they can upgrade at that position by trading Samuel. Regardless, this is a huge victory for the Eagles.

Getting Vince Young as a backup is also an excellent deal. I think Young is very talented and could be a very good QB if he'd just grow up and get some thicker skin. He provides great insurance for the obligatory 2-3 games Vick always misses.

Wow.  Huge moves by Philly.  Very nice for Eagles fans.  Congrats!  DRC, Babin, and Nnamdi...plus a 2nd rounder.
God damn the Cardinals were so stupid.

Congrats are in order for faldor's Pats too.  Ocho and Fat Albert will make their presences known.

Shocker there.  There were so many twists and turns in the Nnamdi sweepstakes and it ended in surprising fashion.  Philly coming out of nowhere.  And while as a Pats fan, I would've done my best to play it off as not a huge deal if he ended up with the Jets, I'm glad I don't have to go through that.  Though I did hear speculation they may go after Samuel now.  We'll see though.  I'd be a little surprised if the Eagles kept all 3 CB's, and since the other two are new arrivals, I'd say Asante would be the odd man out.

As for my Patriots, they cut Ty Warren today.  Fans were salivating yesterday at the prospects of a 3 man line of Warren, Wilfork, and Haynesworth.  Well, not anymore.  I guess they felt they could save some money and use it in other areas by cutting ties with Warren.  They also probably figured that they had a number of young defensive lineman who played well last season with Warren on the sidelines, so they must feel comfortable going forward.  Haynesworth became a LOT more important though today with that move.

Eagles already calling themselves "The Dream Team".  I realize they're just having a little fun, but let's ease up a little bit.  Let's wait till they actually play a game first so we see what they can do together.

Miami Heat anyone?

Not the eagles, just that d-bag vince young whose been an eagles for 5 minutes. Hopefully vick addresses that comment the right way (i'm sure they will all get asked about it).

It took young 5 minutes to show why he's an asshole, and incapable of being a leader at the pro level. Granted he said it in a joking manner, and it was very light-hearted. But it doesnt matter. U dont say shit like that. Football is such a team game and the eagles have major holes - i still dont think they can stop the run, and the OL is suspect.

With reid and management, this team has been tough to like. This certainly doesnt help.

HOLY SHIT just had an idea

what if the Eagles somehow designed some type of Double Wildcat with Vick and Young on the field at the same time? Pitch a reverse to Young who then can throw or run....... or Vick keeps it and runs around the edge?

i'm assuming that is partly (maybe even primarily) the reason the eagles got him. Reid fell in love with the wildcat over the last 2 years and with two athletic QBs on the roster, it could be very dangerous. when i think of Young's college career, i remember him more for his running than passing.

also, i believe there is a rule chnange this year where teams can insert any of the 3 QBs at any time. so that will make it far easier to bring in a "specialist" QB for wildcat situations.

Good point sandman.  VY is a dummy.
Philly stacking that defense has been a huge help.  It's hard to pick against the Eagles taking the NFC East...but the Cowboys still have a shot imho.
btw, don't be too risky with Vick running wild guys, he is fragile and if he goes down, the Eagles are in big trouble.  Let him be elusive in the backfield, but try to limit the big hits.

You got your WR Tim, Plaxico to the Jets.  Not sure he's a better option than Randy Moss at this point.  I know Randy had an awful year last year, but he wasn't in prison.

Yeah, just saw that. I can live with him on the team for a year. I wanted no part of Moss. I know both players have had their share of off field trouble but Moss is much more of a troublemaker on the team. Jets are also said to be close to resigning Cromartie. We're also still looking for extra help at TE for Keller. I'm hearing Kevin Boss's name being tossed around..

Hey Tim, you may not have wanted any part of Randy Moss, but I'd sure as hell take him back in Minnesota.  Childress was a fuck-wad who didn't want to get embarrassed by having his shitty coaching called exactly that...shitty coaching.  In Tenn. who was throwing him the ball?  Rusty Smith?  I really thought St. Louis would have been a perfect spot, but with the Sims-Walker signing I guess that's out the window.

I have a bad feeling Randy will be kicking ass somewhere in the NFL this season...just not for our squads.
For those who think he's washed-up...here's 40 seconds on youtube from last season that prove otherwise:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F31ELjaFkO4

Ravens, Colts, Vikes, Rams, 49ers could use Randy.  Randy would be wise to go to a squad that has an above-average qb...the 1st 4 of those squads qualify.  Crabtree's injury might open a door in San Fran, but Randy would be smart to avoid what is likely the last year of the Alex Smith Experiment.

Now Tim, are you really expecting a lot out of Plax after 2 years in the slammer?
