If Myles Kennedy is on stage at the induction, singing G&R songs, I think I will throw up.

i'm throwing up just imagining it... for god's sake what a horrible mental image.

fuck this. reuniting with Slash would be the biggest backwards step in this neverending fight to give this band identity and integrity.

GN'R dont need this. I would respect and stand with the guys who actually suppported the band all this time rather than giving some free minutes of glory to persons who did nothing but harming the band all these years. They obviously NEED this. But GNR doesnt.
+1

The good thing is that's safe to say that Axl Rose will never be on the same stage than Slash.

AXL SLASH DUFF = GOAT

« Reply #103 on: December 07, 2011, 12:36:21 PM »

Congratuations GN'F'N'R!!!!  Big honor to make it in on the first ballot.  Appetite is the greatest debut of all time.  Looking forward to the ceremony.

People need to relax about current members getting inducted.  I love the CD lineup and the current lineup, but obviously they are not getting voted in because of CD and the half a dozen songs from CD they play each night.  Now Axl has every right and should give mention to all of the musicians he's worked with over the years that have sustained Gn'R.

My prediction is Slash, Duff and Steve show up, Axl sends a pretaped message, and Izzy is MIA.

Wow, this really sux that the induction has turned into such a debate. GnR are awesome, old lineup and new. To be quite honest, though, how appropriate would it be for DJ Ashbah and Chris Pittman to accept the induction? Let's all just be honest who wrote and recorded all of their biggest hits and call it a day. I mean, for crying out loud, Slash's friggin' top hat is practically an industry unto itself at this point. Hopefully the ceremony goes off without a hitch and we all get a treat and enjoy, looking forward to it.

Hmmm that's actually a very good idea.  A proper Greatest Hits set, with about 20-24 of the essential GNR tracks.  I am never a fan of GH albums, but if there is ever a time to put one out it is when they are receiving an award that honors their whole career.  This time let the band choose the songs.

I will say, if they ever could get past their differences and play for that night, I personally couldn't ask for much more in a live show today.
Potential Faces and classic GN'R sharing the same stage? Only thing better would be the Mick Taylor era Stones crashing the party.

Screw who from Gn'R will be there, who is going to induct them?  Maybe, Velvet Revolver?

So,why we can't see new guys on ceremony...Guns n Roses are inducted,and Guns n Roses is Axl,DJ,Ron,Richard,Frank...
I like to see new guys

+1

This is where this board loses some of its credibility.  I LOVE the new band, 5th row tonight in youngstown, 3rd time seeing them after originals broke up.  but, lets use some common sense.  What would the speach be?  Thanks for the award, this line up has nothing to do with all the mega hits, but we accept on there behalf?  I am pretty sure EVERY band member would not want to go and represensent something that they had nothing to do with.  The band that did all the stuff to get the award (to spell it out, the PEOPLE, not the NAME OF BAND) should get the award, or not accept.  Again. while many people ON THIS BOARD would be upset if the originals got back together, trust me, you would be in the minority.  Now, enough of the past talk, I have a show to get reved up for!!!!!!

Have you ever thought that if it wasn't for the "new" members that it probably wouldn't be any induction?

Not for a second.  There is no logic to that.  A band does not have to be together to be inducted.  What would this new band have to do with it?  Look at the articles, its all pics of the old band.  They gave us AFD which sold all those records.  This band has nothing to do with it.

It`s interesting what eddie trunk has posted on twitter he`s pretty much said he thinks the RRHOF has inducted them for all the publicity it will get and to use it as a way of getting a reunion i think he`s right just by reading all the posts from everyone it`s hard to think what will happen i think Axl will feel honoured but at the same time it does cause a real problem for him, like i said before it`s going to be intersesting. By the way Beta congratulated Axl on facebook and said she was proud of him and that he is G`N`R  ok

the original 5 should be there to accept, no one else-no dis on the current lineup

I agree with you. All the orignal five should accept the award and say thank you and all that, but not play. If GN'R's to play some song then it should be the current line up. Simple as that.
