Huh, I didn't know this was out. They also released the old video with the new audio.

Dumb question, but I assume the piano bits are still Axl?

Much better version, the main instruments (guitar, bass, drums) sound fuller. And the orchestra seems lighter, adds a soft layer to it.

Amazing version.

I also think Slash's solo sounds more pronounced on this version as well.

Yeah, I haven't done a back to back comparison but it seems like every instrument was remixed. I wonder if they'll start using the orchestra recording for live shows?

I also wonder if the other UTI tracks will be remixed like that.

I hope so, the guitar and drums really standout in this mix.

Wow, Slash's solos work really well with the new remixed version. It's all very smooth (I don't know any other word for it) and feels very fresh. I recommend listening to it on a good audio device, not on YouTube.... Seems like they added some extra string arrangements as well. Or maybe they drowned in the previous version but it sounds like there's some added elements.

I think that UTI tracks are something that should be handled by a urologist, not a sound engineer.

The tour is winding down, I wonder if we will get a new single? Its been over a year since GNR has put out new music. I wonder what the delay is about? At this rate we will get a new album by 2030. beer

Can’t see any new music coming in 2022.

Will be next year now if we’re lucky.

With the release of the box set, I don't see anything new coming out before next spring at the soonest. It wouldn't make sense from a marketing point of view.

I agree. However, you never know. It makes sense to wait until promoting potential touring next summer.

Apparently what makes sense to us, doesn't in GNR world, or we would have had this thing released years ago.   hihi  What we know is we are in the land of "bet you didn't see that coming".   Cheesy  At least we are looking out for it.

I get where you’re coming from, but there’s always an excuse. Take this year for instance. We’ve not seen any new music to make way for the UYI re-release. But, what about all the touring since the reunion in 2016. Why weren’t new tracks released to support the touring at that time. As a respected poster said a few pages back, let’s hope the band decides to release some new tunes very soon as a thank you to all the fans who’ve invested some serious dollar in buying the UYI boxsets.

I think the box set/anniversary releases of the illusions and dropping singles every so often are two different things.  I don't think one hinders the other or is connected.

Nothin is connected, obviously.

For the last 30 years u have had 1 album only so there is a reason. And when un get older, u don't get faster either. Plus If Slash, who is a workaholic, can't put out more than 2 "new" songs in 6 years in gnr you can really imagine whose the "fault" is  hihi hihi . Everything is always up to Axl and nobody else. After 30 years, almost 40, you should know. Again, don't hold your breath  rofl, cause always remember that this would be their last album 100% if it will ever come out, so i don't think they want to "ruin" their legacy (not sure about it anyway, if we think about absurd  Grin).

I suppose they *have to* do one more.

I mean, maybe Axl could care less, but Slash & Duff, even if they rejoined the band for obvious reasons
(money for Slash who needed it for its difficult divorce, fame & relevance for Duff who always were the
fourth-guy-behind-Axl-Slash-Izzy and who gained these last years recognition with joining and writing books)
they surely don't want the GNR story comes to an end with Chinese Democracy, an album where they don't even play.

what I understand is they have an agreement to do the housework in the vault, releasing Axl's stuff from CD and then doing some kind of *in between record* with that material, ala Lies or Spaghetti Incident, then doing a proper last LP with fresh and new material.

but maybe I'm wrong and these CD songs will be that last album. how disappointing it would be.

Well, some of those songs may be really really good with Slash added in the mix so I’m not giving up yet.

At some point Axl said there was enough material for Chinese democracy 2 and 3....  hihi
If that is even remotely true... there must be enough stuff for at least one album...
