That was good times.  Axl did a great job as a radio DJ.  Tommy the something?  What was his name?  I have that whole thing on a CD some where around here.  I should dig that out.

I just happened to come across this quote in regard to the Jackie Chan thing:

"[The 1996 tracks are] not something I would want to approach (without Slash), because, at the time, there was only one person that I knew who could do certain riffs that way. [...] That's the reason why that material got scrapped." (Axl, press release, 08/14/02)

that's why he said to Kurt Loder it was Slash's fault if he couldn't made an "Appetite" kind of album I suppose

I love his production on AC/DC's Ballbreaker. The guitars have the best vintage tone they'd captured since Back in Black, and the drums punch you in the chest with their thump.

Also, his dry production style might dampen some of the predictable criticism for "overproduction".

If i remember correctly (i could be wrong) he was asked to produce CD or to give a listen to it and he said something like "3 songs are good". So i don't think he'll ever produce it  hihi. But, who knows.

I think you mix him with Bob Ezrin.

he's very good at pointing the best material you have and encouraging you to dig deeper into it.
very supportive and listening to the artists which is the key of a good producing stuff I think.

plus he produced awesome records, Blood Sugar Sex Magik, Wildflowers, Toxicity, American Recordings, Make Believe and so on

LOL, “Been their biggest fan all my life" says the guy who only wanted to hear the hits.  rofl

I don't suppose their biggest fan might have an idea what the setlist would be beforehand...

I didn't like Iron Maiden's latest album and the show was heavy on it, so I just didn't buy a ticket. In 2006, they came out with one of their best albums IMO and I was ecstatic to see them play the album in its entirety live on that tour.

When you have thousands of people in a crowd, there's probably multiple biggest fans (in their own mind) present. Some of whom think their opinion is more valuable than others' opinions. That's just how it is.

On top of that you have all the biggest fans who aren't even present, but offer their opinions on the shows anyway....

The beauty of the Internet.

I'm at the other end of the fan spectrum, not a very good fan.  Don't know shit but still offer up opinions.   hihi  You kind of have to.  I think it's one of those appreciation rules.

And look its been 15 years since Chinese Democracy came out…I guess will have to see. I wonder what excuses they will give as an excuse when touring starts up and no new music comes out. beer

I think you mix him with Bob Ezrin.

From Matt's book:

I thought I’d go crazy, and I was just about to throw in the towel when producer Rick Rubin suddenly showed up. We had previously agreed that he would produce our next record, and he had been waiting a long time to hear what we had come up with. “Okay, so let me hear what you guys got… Where’s Slash?” I glanced at the others and then quickly said, “Uh, he’s not here right now.” We then played a couple of tracks. Axl had one track he wanted to use for a Jackie Chan movie, and Rick [Rubin] really seemed to like that one. He turned to Axl after listening to it, and said, “Do you have any lyrics or melody?” Axl gave him a surprised look. “No.” Rick scratched his head. The atmosphere was weird. “Okay,” he said. Then he left. After the door swung shut behind him, Axl said, “I never wanna see that guy here again. He’s fired, fuck that guy.”

Interesting, so Sorum describes Jackie Chan as an Axl song. That could point to either Axl or Huge actually being the writer, I'd wager.
