Thanks Emily! I showed it to my friends here at ASU on thursday night. It was a really interesting scenario. Some international students, some American students, all of us wasted and enjoying ourselves, for the most part. The main exception would be my friend Jimmy, an Indian foreign exchange student that has spent his last ten years or so in England. Jimmy has this weird kind of split personality thing, whenever he smokes weed he becomes this overly critical guy that we call "Evil Jimmy". Evil Jimmy was out in full force going on about how much of a wanker Axl was, but I overcame my urge to speak up so I could see how the situation would play out.

While  Jimmy was overly critical of Axl's costume changes, dance moves, and aged appearance, everyone there was blown away by the production quality, the musicianship, and the track selection. My two friends that play drums and bass guitar said the sound of the drums and guitars were perfect, that it was mixed incredibly well. Boy was everyone surprised when they heard INCREDIBLY GOOD covers of no quarter and another brick in the wall come up out of nowhere. The brick in the wall cover actually even earned evil Jimmy's praise. Jimmy was just in the middle of talking about how much the concert sucked when another brick started. My friend looked at him kind of puzzled, and Jimmy said "well ok ok, it is a pretty good cover". Also, everyone laughed at the flying piano. DJ's solo was a crowd favorite, and everyone was won over by the guitar work in general.

One last thing, Ron's solo song is pretty much unanimously unliked by everyone I have showed this dvd to. I am not just saying that because of the situation surrounding him at the moment either, it's just that his solo song has always seemed to be the low point of the concert for the people I have watched it with. And for me as well. Everyone loves the don't cry solo though.

?Appetite for Democracy 3D? Guns N? Roses

The first video concert from Guns N' Roses since 1992, 'Appetite for Democracy 3D: Live at the Hard Rock Casino' celebrated both the 25th anniversary of GNR's debut 'Appetite for Destruction' as well as the fourth anniversary of their latest album, 2008's 'Chinese Democracy.' Key covers included the Who, Pink Floyd, Neil Young and Bob Dylan -- all presented in a 5.1 Surround Sound mix.

A little tidbit about the movie:

The desert opening/closing skull scene from GNR Appetite For Democracy Film. We filmed at 50,0000 year old dry lake bed in Mojave Desert Nevada.

In my case I would fill in Canada where the blank is.

Its odd.  I understand that delays occur and that a staggered release sometimes happens, but you would think in this iTunes/digital age that these things would roll out smoother.  Makes me think that it must be a legal matter that is preventing this.  Maybe copyright laws applied differently in differing countries?Huh  I am no lawyer....just a guess.

I had a hell of a time tracking down the DVD & 2CD packages too.  My town is 160,000 people, with a Best Buy, Futureshop, multiple Walmarts and HMV (where i did find it).  I bought the only two copies provided to the entire town and had to get them to order me a third from a store in a neighboring town.  Can't help but think a more diverse and thorough distribution of product might result in higher sales.  YES everyone on this board would track it down, but the fringe buyers are going to need to see product in order to know the purchase is even available.

Yeah, I don't know if it's up to the record company.

There wasn't really a lot of promotion for the DVD/Bluray in some markets.
Or record company involvement. I contacted Universal Music Sweden at the time of the US release asking if they had a planned release date for it and nobody bothered to give a real answer....
