Don't you think it sends the wrong message, especially to the GNR fans, when he starts promoting his new band immediately afterwards?

No, his "new band" is a project he's been working on for over 2 years.  Maybe he considers his projects outside of GN'R as his solo stuff.

It's a band.

Nowhere is Art Of Anarchy described as Ron's solo project.

Right now it's an album, and some videos.

Funny, their official website clearly refers to themselves as a band. Guess they're being dishonest about it then...

It's a band - without a current singer.

Still, a band.

Point being. He hasn't fully focused on his solo ventures as he said he would.

It kinda invalidates his reasons for leaving (say he has) GNR. Now, he's got to juggle this new band as a parallel to his solo career. Can't see the difference to the situation he had while in Guns.

They release an album in June, and then they're gonna look into touring.

Ok.  He has a solo career and he's releasing an album and some videos from his band with no current singer and no plans to tour.

We're back to what's wrong with that.

There's NOTHING wrong with that, if it weren't for his reasons for leaving Guns.

He goes back to a situation similar to the Guns one.

In the interviews he's said that he hoped there would be more coming from the band, they had to work out the singer situation in order to tour.

He hasn't given any reasons for leaving GN'R?  He hasn't even said he's left GN'R?

He just said he was going to be focusing on his solo work.

Yeah, well. If he's left...

He sure put out a lot of clues.

Yes. Nobody knows. He has not claimed that he left because he did not jam in a rehearsal space or get song credits on albums. To say that BF did not get credits on albums is to deal with hypothetical scenarios within hypothetical scenarios since we do not even possess an album in the first place. BF cannot be robbed of credits from an album which does not exist and does not look very close to existing. Britney Spears could have wrote this album for all we care as it is na na land, endor home of the ewoks, middle earth.

« Reply #1691 on: March 24, 2015, 12:16:53 AM »

Is there any material you initially wrote for GNR that ended up on your album?

Yes, I had two songs, ?Argentina? and ?Don?t Know Who To Preach To Anymore? that when I first wrote them I left them unfinished and I was thinking that I could bring them to the table with GNR but I felt ultimately that both songs were better fits on my solo album.

Funny how apparently this is GN'R's fault! According to mortismurphy!

 Shocked

Also, does it seem like the interview ended abruptly?

Mort won't respond to this...but I'm here to show it to him again.  I honestly think mort has a very bad memory.  He's shown this in many posts.  And of course, he doesn't know how to properly use the words "fact"  or "facts".

Why is everyone being so negative?!
Have you forgotten we are on the verge of a new album?
Ron's parts are done, so him leaving (or not) isn't going to have any bearing on us hearing new music.
We just got a 3D Bluray and we are getting Chinese part 2 and the remix album next.
Lighten up, jeez

"Rather than focus on the negative..." (flashback)  hihi . At any rate, the band has toured solidly and without much if any incident for the better part of 3 years or so,  and I imagine with those there will continue to be in top form whenever things pick up again. It just seems pointless after all this time to be shocked at a departure. And this is still far from a dry spell compared to prior to 2006.

It's clearly not a band, bands write together in the same room and "jam" that cannot variate from my personal preference and definition.

Bands write, record, and release music.

Or, at least start to take a serious look at what they are doing in that regard.

That's not what he's saying.

That's what he's doing by not saying whatever he's not saying. Cheesy

Did anybody ever think that maybe it might be for his own good to not make all these GN'R remarks? I know you're desperate for an update and all, but the whole "don't burn your bridges" thing comes to mind.

Yeah, because is seems like Ron was apparently (reading into the context a bit) pissed off that the interview wasn't about his solo album..that there were no questions about it.

Or is someone else reading it differently?

No, I had the same reaction.  I'm just not sure how realistic that all is.

When you played with one of the most famous people in rock for 8 years, its going to be brought up.  All due respect, anything he can tell you about Axl Rose or GNR is going to be far more interesting to far more people than anything about a solo album few will ever hear.

He says "I?m not supposed to talk about GN'R".

I don't think anyone is desperate for an update.  This thread was started almost 9 months ago.
