I was thinking about this the other day and feeling like if I were in position to play to any size audience, I'd mix it up all the time.  There's got to be such equally amazing feelings playing to half a million at a festival, to a stadium tour, to areas, sheds, theaters and clubs.  Each one unique and special to the fans as well.  And much props to GN'R for doing all of it.

Seeing them at Madison Square Garden was awesome. The Joint was cool too.

But My favorite spots seeing them were actually the Susquehanna Bank Center and the Fillmore in Silver Spring, and the House of Blues in AC

The Joint @ The Hard Rock in Vegas is by far my favorite venue. I've seen 4 GNR shows, 2 Motley Cr?e shows, The Offspring and Sixx:A.M...you can put on a huge arena show in a 4000 seat venue. Just an incredible venue!

I was gonna say those....
There's a bunch of old venues that are beautiful, or just legendary, around the world. Like the Midland in KC. Or Tokyo Dome in Tokyo.

Even though GN'R never played there, Gremio Arena is nice. Hint hint.  hihi

As a New Yorker...maybe I'm biased... but the Garden is just a special place.

The first time Axl came before the tour ended, when he started up with Robin and Buckethead and that lineup... that was epic. The crowd was insane.

LOVE the Joint at Hard Rock - just such a great set-up (both times  ok) and so easy to hang out, have fun, cruise in and get a great spot on the floor for the show. Felt a really intimate show in there

Never been there but LA Forum in Inglewood is quite epic.

Zeppelin always played their best and longest shows there. Guns played the almost 4hour show in 1991 there.

Exactly. It's quite hard to understand what are we discussing here. It's very true that sometimes when you are in a gig the band just doesn't belong there. It's just all wrong.

But that has never happened with GNR, I've seen that to be true in three countries.

Loved the hammerstein ballroom (have loved it since the ecw days).

Really liked the Roseland, too...but i think more because of the show and people at the show, than because of the venue itself.

I would kill to see gnr in an old, gothc or art deco style theater.

That would be cool, there is a place called the Palace in Louisville KY that has a very gothic feel to it.

Hey Fernando, would it kill GnR to play in Louisville on the next tour???  Haven't played in Kentucky since 1991!

Hi Fernando.

Why didn't GN'R came to Portugal in the 2012 European tour? The 2010's gig wasn't ok? The sound in the first row was awful ... we could barely hear Axl's mic ... later I saw the show on the youtube and it sounded awesome ... Who's fault? The venue's accustic or the sound's technician?

Another question ... is there a chance for GN'R to play in a RIR again, after what happened in 2011, when Medina complained so much about the band (undeservedly
, IMO)?

When did this happen? I loved Hammerstein. I would love to see another take on those 2006 shows or the club tour from 2012... if that ever happens again The Orpheum Theater in Boston would be great. Pilferk you'd love it, it was opened in 1852 and was the original home for the Boston Symphony Orchestra... it's a great room with a ton of history.

Not sure why MSG is considered so great..Ut hasbeen renovated so many times Ifeel the aura and presence of historical moments are gone.. One thing all these renevatios have consistently done is strip away any intimacy by keeping the crowd AWAY from the performer with a spread  seating...The soon to be demolished neighboring Nassau Colliseum is a much better venue with a more intimate setting..
Great show with Skid Row in June 1991....

I've been there! That would be an awesome choice!

I'm lucky in that we have a fully restored art deco theater near by (the warner theater in torrington, ct). Gnr would never play there....too small of a town...but we've had some cool national level acts play it, just because its such a neat venue.

Any venue that is defined for music is the best

A place a symphony normally plays usually has the best acoustics

I hate seeing a band in a arena/stadium/outdoors

My all time fav venue.   Would be a small 500-1000 capacity bar!

Where the stage is right there.   Bar is right there!   I have been lucky enough to see some great band in venues like this.

Cheap trick, billy idol.  Great shows

Let's go jays!

Best stadium is hands down Madison Square Garden.   I think it is the greatest arena on the plant.

But place place to see GNR?   The Joint in Vegas hands down.

I'll always prefer theater or an amphitheater show over arenas.

I will second Siamese Democracy's pick of the Joint in Vegas.  Loved that place.  When the concert ends the party is just beginning.

Seeing Guns I think my favourite so far was MEN arena, although Liverpool was very similar. In terms of venues I'd love to see Guns in, Leeds has a new arena, its a new fan shaped arena thats supposed to make the band sound better, I've seen Prince and Fleetwood Mac there and the sound is amazing and its a really awesome venue.

I also love Milton Keynes bowl.

Loved the hammerstein ballroom (have loved it since the ecw days).

Really liked the Roseland, too...but i think more because of the show and people at the show, than because of the venue itself.

I would kill to see gnr in an old, gothc or art deco style theater.

I loved Roseland, too bad they closed.

Hiro Ballroom was the shit....  beer
