Third time in the past year?  Wonder what kind of help MLB or the players union or the Mets offered him after his first and second offenses?  I understand that not everyone accepts help when offered but I hope they at least tried.

Isn't he a minor leaguer right now? Or, rather, wasn't he?

In that case, the answer to the above question is zero...at least on mlb or the mlbas part.  Who knows with the mets...

I'm not sure if he was in the minors at the time but he was their closer at some point last year.

Yeah, i thogh they had teassigned him BEFORE he got popped with the first suspension, but i'm not 100% sure. If so...he gets zippo. If he was with mlb, he gets full mlbpa support and an appeal.

I am going to the Ranger Blackhawk game tomorrow night... my sons first hockey game...so pumped for that.

Looks like its close to a done deal.

This could b a good "change of scenery" scenario for Bruce but he's kind of "what you see is what you get" guy.

Bad OBP, strikes out a ton but can go on a tear for a few days at a time and carry a team.

Anyone see Jose Bautistas comments? Im a jays fan, and although not great for the team, he basically came out and said I told the team what I deserve to get paid and for how long and im not negotiating, thats what im worth lol, Joses a beauty

I loved the comments.  And I will love watching his last year in a jays jersey.  3 years at 75 million is my top end for him.  Heard he is asking 4 at 100 million     That's what I would pay Edwin though

Chapman suspended 30 games under MLB's new domestic violence policy.

It'll be interesting to see how the inevitable appeal goes.  This one is interesting for a few reasons (it's the first real test of the policy, for starters).  Given there is no law enforcement action being taken, the basis for this one is the one that's going to be the most solid basis for an appeal. 

IF there is evidence we haven't heard that something untoward happened, he deserves every game (and maybe more). 

I also think, even if there's not, this is good move (and a good policy, actually) for MLB. It will let them test the limits of their own policy, early on, with a somewhat questionable case.

I'm not so sure the MLBPA will feel the same way, though. We'll see.

Edit: Well, never mind. He's decided not to appeal.  Fair enough.  Guess we'll have to wait for another case to test the policy.
