Reason I start a thread for this is that PJ just released their official tour dates for this summer.

It's a long shot and probably won't happen, but if Gn'R want to "sell-out" and get the most for their buck on a stadium tour then I think this is the band.

It would be incredible.

http://pearljam.com/tour

They are booked solid through May 10th. After that they just got the 1 appearance at Bonnaroo then they are good until August. So there's space for a May-July tour for sure.

I would die for this. PJ probably isn't interested in doing something so crazy and big, but I think it would be cool... and it makes great sense with the timing and all that. What do you guys think?

Pearl Jam would have to shorten their usual show to make this work.  I can't see it.

They also aren't going to open for Guns N' Roses, I can't imagine.

They are my second favorite band after GNR, so I would love it.  But not sure about the crossover demographics here.

We'll see this Saturday.

I have a feeling GN'R won't have that much of a problem headlining stadiums on their own.

Would be cool for the fans.

But, if GN'R are able to do it on their own, won't they make more money doing it that way?

Frankly, they don't need GNR.

They are coming here for 2 nights in April.  Both shows will sell out, sight unseen.

Why split the money with someone else?  For that matter, why would GNR split the money with them?

Well the whole basis of this post is for a stadium tour. Stadiums seat 60-80,000 people.

I honestly don't think Gn'R can sell out or get over 80% capacity on their own in a massive stadium.

With Pearl Jam wouldn't more money be made to sell out a stadium? That is why I posted this. Plus besides it being ALL SPECULATION, it does fit the Gn'R timeline well.

I'm just saying, the cheapest ticket could be 100 bucks a head, and they'd sell it the fuck out in ANY stadium in the USA WITH Pearl Jam. Who's schedule slides nicely with any possible May-July tour Gn'R might want to do.

WOuld be amazing. I just know if they played Nashville LP Field... which seats like 66k or something. If it is just them or them and some dumb act opening then I can't see them getting more than 35-40k at best here. Maybe I'm wrong? If Pearl Jam did it with them, we're talking SOLD OUT.

They wouldn't want to swap headlining (playing last) slots with PJ, so this is mostly just a dream.

Pearl Jam just announced their spring and summer tour. They got two (baseball) stadium shows each in Boston and Chicago in August.

Axl, Slash, Duff is good enough to sell out a 20 stadium tour on their own.

They are not going to want to split profits with another big name band when they don't need to.....

They could pay Mixmaster Mike $1,000 to do a DJ set again and open up and the stadium tour will still sell out.

The band has a close relationship with the Red Sox Ownership and the Former GM (who is in Chicago). Eddie Vedder regularly took part in the Hot Stove Cool Music charity show in Boston put on by the Red Sox for the Charity To Be Named Later Foundation.

When did that happen?!

Would be cool to see for sure but not going to happen.  Both bands are known for regularly doing 3 hour plus shows. Someone would have to go on insanely early to make it work.

I love Pearl Jam, that'd be a great idea, but this thing would last for like 5 hours haha! Why not? Smiley

I think a reunion tour with The Black Crowes and/or Oasis would work better than one with Pearl Jam.

Oasis is my favorite band... I would just die.

You have no idea.

Them getting back together is pretty bad and it will happen but it isn't happening this summer.
