Marmite Militia, taking over one piece of toast at a time!!!

« Reply #40 on: July 14, 2016, 02:25:56 PM »

just packed my coolers and loaded them in the car. Got the Mrs a ticket in the pit last night on stub hub ($190) and we are picking up 7 people in our mini-van.  rofl  not the most rock n roll way to do it, but it is convenient. so if you see a big group of people tailgating at a mini-van, stop by for a beer and say hello. i'll be wearing the old school gnr tshirt and a red bandana.

gnr has an interesting history with Philly:
- Axl harassed by cops
- epic concerts (Axl stopping in the middle of WTTJ to yell at a fan and then starting the song over!)
- great crowds
- Duff mentions philly in his book and getting lost looking for drugs in a bad neighborhood
- the riot
- the EF show (2,000 people!!!) with an explanation and apology for the cancellation

anyway, it's always interesting. and I've wanted this for years. can't freakin believe it's happening. it's how I'd probably feel if the eagles won the SB!

everyone have a great time tonight whether you are there or watching online. enjoy!  beer

We are leaving the mini van for melife....and will be instead rocking my super cool subaru forester dad-mobile.

Cool? Not so much....

I hope all you guys have a blast tonight!!

Who the hell is Wolfmother?

Is that who won the WMMR contest?

I've seen them before. Last time was a couple years back at the webster theater in CT. They're actually not half bad. The Philly crowd will prolly give them shit, because nobody will have ever heard, or heard of, them. But....honestly...a hell of a lot better than, say, mixmaster mike. Wink

PSA: Just saw on Twitter that GnR tweeted out that they are opening gates and starting the show early! Instead of 8:30, first act is going on at 7:30.  Guns still looking like 9:30 though...they just added an additional opener!

Son of a motherless goat, is it hot out there.

Neither of my boys have nearly the bodies to pull off this look anymore (which makes three of us) but I bet they wish like hell they could turn back time for one night. I sure do.

Pro tip: hydrate before you pregame! Otherwise, the hooch hits you hard and fast in the heat! And nobody wants to spend the show in the stadium infirmary!
