And the other contender gets reviewed next Thursday.  I wonder if that's a one dose vaccine?  I'm hoping the nasal spray one is ready but the spring when it's my turn to get it.

No, Moderna requires two shots as well. The only difference is the time in between. Pfizer is 3 weeks later the Moderna one is 4 weeks.

Panel meets Thursday.  Barring any surprises, I would expect approval on Friday.  And, like Pfizers vaccine, distribution to follow over that weekend and begining in earnest on Monday the 21st.

That expansion is going to probably finish off phase 1a and make a dent in phase1b.

Data shows Moderna vaccine actually prevents infection. This is the great unknown we had not known until now.

FYI: An early analysis seems to indicate the 2 UK workers who had an allergic reaction (which, FYI, was mitigated quickly and they are FINE) was a reaction to polyethylene glycol.

There may be more info as that data is analyzed further. If I see more, I'll pass it along.

I suggested to my mother, just for fun, she wrap us up a roll of toilet paper real pretty for Christmas.  She said no, she had the good stuff!  What's going on here that a mother won't share her nice toilet paper with her children for Christmas?  hihi  Think I laughed harder at what she said then if I got the roll.

The governor of Missouri said we got through the Thanksgiving period without a major spreader.  Thanked everybody for cooperating and keeping the parties down.  Our numbers are dropping but I still think 85 percent full in ICU is way too high.  My daughter gets her covid shot next week.

The FDA passed the other one.

Not quite yet.

The advisory panel endorsed the Emergency Use of the vaccine, yesterday.

That panels approval now goes back to the FDA, who have to actually approve it.  Probably today?

 ok ok

Hoping the EU approves vaccines next week...

Sweden announced some new restrictions/recommendations yesterday.  Among them, mask wearing in crowded public transport. Better late than never I guess....

Just a little late to the party.

I don't get the delay.

Like, how did they decide the crowding is worse now than say in April, or September?

Seems like they've realized the strategy has failed.

Finally we are at the beginning of the end.   It has been said that 2020  has been the worst year this country ( as well as others) has seen since 1929.

I am beyond ready for this to be over. Another friend today lost someone to covid-19. That brings the total to 15 among 8 of my friends.

I went through the AIDS/HIV scare.  Covering it is your best defence is well ingrained in my head.  I'm so use to wearing my mask now, I'm one of those people you see driving alone in their car with a mask on.   hihi
