U.S. government deficit down 17 percent from same period a year ago
https://www.pbs.org/newshour/economy/u-s-government-deficit-down-17-from-same-period-a-year-ago?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=news_tab
The deficit only goes down when Democrats are in office. Republicans spend and borrow like drunken maniacs. Obama cut the annual deficit in half through his years and then Trump grew 300%.

I'm sure he didn't mean that.
Just like those proud patriots didn't mean to attempt a coup, just wanted to talk to Pence about what he could do....

Makes you wonder what kind of PowerPoint slide transitions are considered patriotic?
Seriously though...
The more things come out, the harder it is for some to justify what went down. All because of one lie.

What a masterclass in virtue signaling this press conference is. Count how many empty cultural signifiers you can find here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4mnk8vd5-WY
You've got a girl wearing a shirt that just says "conservative" next to a dude in a cowboy hat. It's like what a lazy writer would come up with to parody right wingers. And still, people don't realize their being pandered to.
And to those unfamiliar, what he is spouting about "Cultural Marxism" is a long-discredited conspiracy literally started by the actual Nazi party. A sitting US governor spouting literal Nazi rhetoric.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cultural_Bolshevism
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cultural_Marxism_conspiracy_theory
"Cultural Bolshevism (German: Kulturbolschewismus), was a term widely used by state-sponsored critics in Nazi Germany to denounce secularist, modernist and progressive cultural movements.
Cultural Marxism is a contemporary variant of the term which is used to refer to the far-right antisemitic Cultural Marxism conspiracy theory.[5] This variant of the term was used by far-right terrorist Anders Breivik in the introductory chapter of his manifesto."
This is how extreme the right has become in America. And what's more frightening is that "centrists" do not grasp it and even feed into their "anti-woke" rhetoric thinking it's apolitical. The core draws that fascists appeal to are emotional and cultural issues, not policy. When politicians stop talking about tax rates and only talk about "cultural/moral decline", you should be afraid.

Did you see the report he got money from corporate donors just before tanking the deal? What a coincidence!

I won't be surprised at all when he switches parties.
What I don't understand about the Biden administration is why they aren't acting on student loan relief. If DINO Manchin is going to prevent his key legislative agenda and hamper the desperately necessary economic recovery it would spur, the smart move would be to waive large sums of debt to free up capital for millions of young Americans and significantly boost the economy. And better yet, Manchin couldn't do a damn thing to stop him. It's entirely under his powers and his alone. There are countless studies showing the lost economic potential due to student debt postponing home ownership and many other economic cornerstones for Millennials.

The 1900s called..... The cold war ended and so did the fear of communism.
An extremist being afraid of other extremists by making up things to be afraid of.

If I was all that concerned about events that happened on this date, I wouldn't be standing on the capitol steps chatting with God with the politicians.

When will the Republicans move on from the lie that the election was stolen from them? Is there a time frame?
And some say the rest of the world is laughing at the USA because of Biden.... No, not really....

The better question is when will these people work together? We didn't elect these people to run shotgun over government. We elected them to manage government.

The party of "Democrats will _______" instead of "we want to ______".
As far as I know the USA still isn't a socialist Marxist dictatorship. No matter what the right wing claims.

Agreed, if one party weren't stonewalling all legislation, we'd be in a very different place right now. But they are putting partisan politics over the country. They'd rather see Biden fail than America prosper.

That happen with the last president right? They're all playing the same game if you ask me.
I don't see this political civil war as a totally bad thing. The US is prospering. Depends on how you look at it. Have you seen the F150 truck is coming out all electrical? The real Captain Kirk went to space. A vaccine came out in record time. Employees have bargaining chips. Mental health is a real thing. There's lots going on without legislation. The politicians want in on the credit but it was the people moving it forward.

Democrats helped Trump pass a ton of bills, including prison reform, elder abuse prevention, VA whistleblower protection, fighting human trafficking, and of course two Covid relief bills. Not a single republican voted for Biden's covid relief, and none were working with him on Build Back Better either.
It's good that Americans make progress despite the political obstructionism, but that progress can only be very limited without legislation. For example, Ford probably wouldn't be making that electric F150 without Obama's push for green energy, or the subsidies that exist for EVs. The vaccine was developed with the help of the government, literally because Democrats worked with Trump to make it happen.
