The new FHM magazine with Halle Berry on the Cover has a list of the 50 most absurd moments in Rock history.

Buckethead comes in at #46 for him building the chicken coup in the GNR studio.  It includes a picture.

I am sorry I meant a picture of Buckethead is included, not a picture of the chicken coop.

Why isn't Axl Rose's bizarre decisions not to show to gigs and not release albums not in there...is that not absurd?

46 Buckethead builds coop
Guitarist for the newly reformed Guns N' Roses, Buckethead took his name from the KFC bucket he wears like a crown.  While laying down GN'R tracks in the studio, he performs in a chicken coop - because he claims to have been raised by chickens.  Sounds reasonable.

Gypsy Comment:  Sounds reasonable to me, too. Cheesy
Must be nice to work in a place that lets you feel at home.  yes

BTW, what is #1? Something with Brian Wilson, perhaps?

Maybe when he set up the "beach" in his recording studio for Smile to get a a more beach-like sound for the beach boys.

Buts its nice to see Buckethead made the list, at least we're getting publicity.

#1 was when Thomas Halpin, a teenage fan, filled in for Keith Moon on drums during a 1973 Who concert in San Fran.

The story goes that backstage before the show Moon's friend gave him a bottle of horse tranquilizers, telling him to take half of one, when Moon responded, "Half?  I'm Keith Moon!" and took two whole pills.  Moon passed out a few songs into the set and the band turned to the audience asking if anyone knew how to play drums.  They picked Halpin and he filled in for the rest of the show.
