EVERYONE on this board who considers themselves even remotly into metal needs to get a Children of Bodom album ASAP.

in the last two weeks i have bought two of thier albums, and I was absolutely blown away by thier music.  They perfectly blend the black/ power metal genres and thier guitar player / lead singer/ songwriter Alexi "wildchild" Laiho is one of the most talented people in the music scene today.  His singing is not for everybody, but if you are looking for kickass metal that i can best describe as "Seventh Son era Maiden on crack" COB are for you!

Their keyboard player comes up with some great melodies, and i especially like how the guitar solos switch off with the keyboard, it is almost magical

So.... do your self a favor and pick up "Follow the Reaper" you will NOT be dissappointed!!!! beer smoking

I do love them, me.

Aside from the multiple Iron Maiden covers (and there are a fair few) I don't see that they're that much alike.

I'm not an out and out metal fan, no sir. It's not very often a metal band grab my attention. But these guys are dynamic, powerful, and at the same time very melodic.

I own two of their albums, I'm not sure what albums. Hatecrewdeathroll? That one, and the one that was released before it. To be honest I haven't listened to them in a while, but I will tomorrow, thanks to yourself.....that's if I have the albums at home, I might have left them in Ireland. Oh well, can always download.

Laiho told a cool story a while ago about running into Zakk Wylde in a bar. Zakk gave Laiho a bone-crunching hug and told him he's one of the best guitarists around. Laiho said he was shaking for a long time after that.. Smiley

EDIT: Oh yeah, have to add I've seen Alexi Laiho a lot of times at the local metal bar. He seems like a cool, down to earth guy.

My brother used to work at the same place as Laihos mother.. So i?m almost related to mr. Laiho.

Seriously, i?m not a huge fan. I only got their first CD and i think it?s listenable.
