A rock music fan who went missing two years ago after travelling to the USA to see her favourite band has been found safe and well, police said today.
Kirsty Omerod, then aged 20, left her home in Newport, Gwent, in November 2002 to see Guns N’ Roses in Chicago, but disappeared.
Now Gwent Police have been told by their American counterparts that she has been traced and has married and settled there.
Detective Sergeant John Giles said: “There is no suggestion she is coming home and she does not want her location being given out. Her family has been informed and they are relieved she is safe and well.
“We are closing the file on it.”
