Vancouver Arena Officials Release Statement On GUNS N' ROSES Riot
Orca Bay Sports and Entertainment, who operate General Motors Place in Vancouver, British Columbia, have issued the following statement in order to "provide additional context and information relating to [Thursday night's] cancellation of the GUNS N' ROSES concert":

"GUNS N' ROSES was scheduled to perform at General Motors Place Thursday, November 7. A decision to cancel this show was made when it was recognized that the band could not take the stage at a reasonable time.

"Disappointed fans, frustrated over the cancellation of the concert, displayed their frustration by vandalizing General Motors Place shortly after the cancellation was announced. The safety of our customers and staff is a top priority at each of our events and we work closely with the Vancouver Police Department to customize a security plan for each concert. The Vancouver Police Department has our full support in prosecuting anyone that broke the law at General Motors Place [Thursday] night.

"An early assessment suggests damage to General Motors Place of several hundred thousand dollars. The repairs are already underway and it is business as usual at GM Place today [Friday, Nov. 8]. There will be no impact on the next scheduled event, which is the Vancouver Canucks – St Louis Blues hockey game on Tuesday November 12."
