|Former Guns N' Roses drummer Steven Adler is being sued by prominent music lawyer Peter Paterno, who has worked with Metallica, the Goo Goo Dolls and others. Paterno filed suit on February 5 in Los Angeles Superior Court against Adler and employees of his law firm Simke Chodos for malicious prosecution. In 1991, following his dismissal from GNR, Adler sued Paterno's former law firm Mannatt, Phelps and Phillips for legal malpractice, breach of fiduciary obligation, fraud and misrepresentation and negligent misrepresentation. Adler's case basically insinuated that he had been poorly advised by Paterno, and that he had been coerced into accepting a bad deal as part of his parting of ways with the band. In 1996, Paterno was acquitted of all charges, and now he wants damages for the six year legal ordeal. He is seeking compensatory, exemplary and punitive damages in the $25,000 range.
