couple of years ago.... who knows.... but now... I'll just wait till it's out and pay the regular price.

however... seeing them play CITR live... now that.... I'd pay 1000 euros.

To have Chinese Democracy NOW? I'd pay 50$ for it.

When it comes out? Lowest possible market price Smiley

I thought this was funny, one reason why radiohead isnt exactly smart

Radiohead album draws complaints
By THE CANADIAN PRESS

TORONTO - Hailed as revolutionaries for their digital prowess last month, Radiohead's innovative download offer is now being derided by some fans.

Message boards dedicated to the Brit band are alight with complaints over the bit rate for the new album, "In Rainbows," available digitally on Wednesday.

Bit rate determines the audio quality and how much space an MP3 file takes up on a computer or MP3 player.

An e-mail sent to fans who registered to buy the album says "In Rainbows" will be encoded at 160 kbps - higher than the default iTunes rate of 128 kbps but not high enough for some fans.

Music files can be found on the Net at bit rates as high as 320 kbps or as "lossless" files, which is the highest, uncompressed digital format.

Some messages on websites www.Radiohead.com and www.ateaseweb.com complained that Radiohead should have indicated the audio quality on the order page, which encouraged fans to set whatever price they liked for the album.

"I just wish they'd given all the details when the order page went up, so people could adjust their prices accordingly," wunderhorn1 says at the Radiohead message board www.ateaseweb.com.

"They should have a Lossless download option. Very true, 160k is not worth paying for," says Link23.

Over at Radiohead.com, a fan identified as "Dug" begs to differ: "You can't hear the difference between a good MP3 and a CD - 160 kbps should be just fine."

Like the article above said, a download like that isnt worth paying for. I'd shell out $30 for a real CD.

Idiots.   iTunes does not use MP3.

I would pay whatever they ask. Nothing ridiculous of course but I'd probably even go to like $50 for even 13 songs. I'm dying to see what has taken Axl so long and it might be considered a collector's item some day. But of course I would play the shit out of it.

pretty cool idea to sell their music online without any record label backing.     Would Axl do this? Allowing rabid hardcore fans and casual one's alike to set theis own price.

Nobody in their band is gay...actually, they are all married. ok Personally, I would take Radiohead's last three albums over the 11 songs we have heard from the new Gnr. Of course, I like some of the Gnr stuff. However, the production on the leaks is quite possibly the worst I have ever heard in rock and roll. Horribly produced. I only hope that Axl has re-done almost all of it.

ofcourse it's easier to master music from a simplistic band such as radiohead than a more complex one like gnr full of more technically advanced musicians

Don't see why some posters fele the need to slag off Radiohead muscially on this thread, if you don't like them fine but it's the download idea we're discussing - not their music.

Anyhow I'd pay for GnR downloads - ?10 for the album as that would go straight to the artists.  For CD depends on the set and what is in it....

Pretty safe to say this is what it is all coming to in the future "Radiohead's new release". That and just make a release an exclusive for specific chain stores such as the Eagles did with Wal-Mart. The music industry is in a sad shape unfortunately. I am not a rabid hardcore fan like you cats but i would goto Best Buy and pick it up for 9.99 the day it is released , us "VR fans" are curious to as what the red headed one has to offer. And that wasn't meant as a dig either. Rock music really does need Axl back. I wish he would realize that.

Back on topic.

I'd pay the same as I pay on Itunes.

Seems reasonable to me to support the artists I like by buying their music.

/jarmo

Ditto.

I'd pay about a buck a song for it...or around $13 if the last "count" of tracks is close to being right.

And I'd even smile while I was doing it...

One caveat though:  I have to be able to burn as many copies of the stinking album as I like....NOT because I want to send it to every friend I have, but because I want a copy for my car, a copy for my home CD changer, and a "backup" copy to sock away somewhere.

i'd pay $2 for a digital download, $10 USD for a well-packaged CD, and $30-$40 for a well-packaged LP on 45rpm 180 gm vinyl.

If I could have it right this second I would gladly pay $1000. It would be worth it just to end the endless wait.

I'd pay whatever it cost up at the record store or wherever I buy it from.   most likely 3 copies the day it comes out.

I'd pay 20 euros for the CD and 10 euros for its digital version. I'd pay up to 50 euros for a collector's edition with a nice booklet and DVD or whatever, but this is unlikely.
