In the Grey Cup half time show in Montreal Canada (Canada's equivalent to the Superbowl) Suzie McNeil came out with Theory of a Deadman and sung with a new tshirt - (the star with the little guys on it) and the new GNR logo at the bottom.  The shirt also said Chinese Democracy under the GNR logo. Nice product placement by GNR.

GNR ad at the end of the half time also - no coincidence it seems

Ricky Martin had his top 10 videos of all time on MTV once (back when he was popular) and for #2 he had November Rain (#1 was his own "Livin La Vida Loca" video). Right after talking about the video he was like "Come back to us Axl...."

Sum 41 and a bunch of other young punk bands cite GNR as an influence. Days of the New and Buckcherry spoke highly of GNR.

Ozzy and Sharon like GNR. I think I read a quote where Ozzy was talking about axl and said "I love his music and his voice but the man has serious problems."  Embarrassed

The lead singer tried out for VR (the first go around before SW was selected)

Manic Street Preachers
Quote from James Dean Bradfield (lead singer / lead guitarist)

"If you make a record as good as Appetite For Destruction it sells, if you don't it doesn't", have also covered Its So Easy and also used to use the Sweet Child O'mine / Paradise City intro leading into Motown Junk. Incidentally they wanted the debut album to outsell Appetite for Destruction, tour the world, sell out Wembley Stadium 3 nights in a row and burn out.

Thankfully they didnt and have gone on to make some cracking records.

Page Six >> Buff and brassy

CHELSEA CLINTON is looking hot, and she's not afraid to flaunt it. The former first daughter was spotted in the front row at Soul Cycle on West 72nd Street -- which hosts the toughest spin class in town -- yesterday morning. Clinton stripped down to her sports bra and bike pants, flashing a six-pack, and let out an excited whoop when the instructor blasted Guns N' Roses' classic "Sweet Child O' Mine."

The World According to Zakk Wylde

05.27.2009

?All the bands and musicians I grew up on and loved, like Led Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix ? it?s their names that are on their songs. That?s the beauty of buying a record by a real artist. Guns N? Roses? Appetite for Destruction was written by Guns N? Roses, not some weak-asses like those lame songwriters for Aerosmith.

?Aerosmith wrote great songs like ?Dream On? and ?Back in the Saddle? when they were on booze and drugs. Next thing you know, they get sober and bring songwriters in and then it?s the most watered down s***.

That's pretty cool, where do they sell that shirt?  Or was it custom made?
