I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but like I said he was advertised in our local weekly magazines (Free Times) as scheduled for a meet and greet at 10:00-he even gave a mention about his Aunt that lived here in Cleve-I don't know if there is a conflict with that apperance and the concert (you would think the concert would be more important)-BTW he stated Axl's favorite show is the shield : ok: I think they are just re-arranging the times of the openers, maybe a mix up for a bit

I'll be going tonight.  I was going to go a little early and get up front but my girlfriend and I are both sick as fuck and have been for a couple of days now.  So that really fucking blows and there's no way we would wait outside in the cold so we're just going to go around 8 or 9 and not even try to get up front. I feel too shitty to even try to battle with people over a spot so we're going to watch as close as we can without having to have contact with anyone else.  I still can't wait for the show and I'll enjoy it just as much but my original plans of being front and center just aren't going to happen.  I hope anyone else that's going tonight has a blast and be safe as always people.

it was the day after a big Ohio State win against Michigan to keep them undefeated-weird-Ohio State beat Mich last week to remain undefeated, like 2002-Axl started concert with Ohio State jersy on, joked he was watching riot after Ohio State win, thought he was late for the concert again-that was a great concert-he was in a great mood, very energetic.

Yes, the Cleveland Cavaliers NBA team home. It was ''Gund Arena'' in 2002, now its ''Quicken Loans Arena''

The capacity is 20.500

Let's hope a soundboard recording of this show like in 2002  ;D

Mega is already in line, there's 20 people in line so far...

Just a heads up to whoever's going and wants to be up front.

I would have been there if I wasn't feeling like death.  :(  It had to be the day I'm going to see my favorite band that I'm sick as hell and can barely move around at all.  Thanksgiving kind of sucked as well because I could hardly eat anything at all.  I think karma is starting to come back and get me for something I did in the past.  I don't remember doing anything that bad though, so maybe karma has me confused with someone else.

Thanks for the kind words guys and gal... and I'm sure once the music comes on nothing in the world will matter.  I can't wait and I know it will be a great time no matter how shitty I feel.  Hopefully they come back this way next year so I can have another chance at seeing them and going crazy up front.

EDIT:  Estebanf, I think it's too late for any religious conversions today... well maybe not, GN'R won't be on for another 6 or 7 hours so maybe miracles can happen??  Let me get some candles and gather all of the crosses from around the house and put them in this room and read a few verses from the Bible... I might as well try.   : ok:

EODM are a great band and they wouldn't be on the tour at all if they were "shit." My guess is one of the members of EODM said something bad about Axl....but who knows...

maybe it like Axl said, they're no longer on the tour since their shit

Then why did GN'R tour with CKY?

Something must have happened...expect a war of words coming soon, lol.

Well from what I read they were booed off.  Oh well!!! :hihi:

I never understood why fans feel the need to treat opening acts handpicked by their hero with disrespect.

I mean if u boo them off the stage it isnt gonna make the headliner play any sooner.

the Mars volta were horrible opening for RHCP but no one booed them off the stage.

I think that sucks to boo someone off the stage

That being said

That Pigeons of Shit metal line goes right into Axl's top 10 all time sayings.

I suggest we keep the guesses about why Axl said those things about the opening act out of this thread until we know the real reason.

/jarmo

No doubt. We don't need to have a bunch of lies and chaos being created. the world will come off it's hinges if we wrongly speculate.  Nice move acting so swiftly. Keep these speculators at bay. filthy people they are.

i was there, just got home, great show.  no major surprises, but solid all around.  missed suicide girls, thought eodm might be first.  too bad, wanted to see them.  sebastian bach is a great opener, he just gets the crowd into it.  his great line was, " i went to the rock and roll hall of fame, and said, wheres the kiss stuff?  no kiss?  what the fuck?  at least i thought i'd see some boots or something" or something like that.  stepped out for eodm, but they just play dead on stage when i peaked in for a sec.  dunno what happened with them, but sg did come on for three songs around 11:10 or so.  guns hit around 12:00am.  played till 2:15 or so.  yeah axl said something like "lucky for us this is their last night!"  his monitor was fucked all night, kept putting it in, taking it out.  after taking bows, he took the mic, with a fairly full crowd out there, and said thanks again, especially since it "was a shit day, shit night with sound, but i tried hard and we had a great fucking time".  another time he said, "to all those who came to the show in 2002, cleveland and cincinatti were the two best (or two fo the best, can't remember) shows we played, and we are glad to be back."

he looked great, band sounded good, no "beautiful" solo, good solos overall.  great show all around!

EDIT: to the post above, i do agree to a point.  when i looked around during pc, the crowd was still strong, people dancing, floor still crowded.  sound was shitty at points, but i didn't see a single person on the floor leave till pc was over.  just my opinion

It's interesting to read the first review, which is obviously from someone who had planned to slag the show off from the beginning, and then from billsguy, who seems to give you more of his honest opinion rather that trying to talk about exact percentages of people who left.....

thanks for the review billsguy glad you had a good time!

Thanks for the reviews.

And it seems to ALWAYS be a problem with the sound. Why in the world does Axl not hire someone new if this is ALWAYS a problem. I seriously do not get that at all.

I don't know, Axl complaining about the sound doesn't really bother me. It seems like every show there are one or two posters who say the sound "sucked" and give the show a bad review, and then the other 90 percent of the people are blown away

and it seems those one or two posters always run home to post first

i guess the first review was removed?

it's cool Axl was vocal about everything (eodm, sound). not a lot of performers would so directly speak like that -- how does it work with the sound, why do they have problems sometimes?

well sound was good, his vocals volume seemed lower than 2002.  multiple times he complained about the monitor.  before november rain, they were next to him while he was sitting on the piano bench, trying to get a monitor on him that worked.  while they were doing it, he was saying shit about how bad it was.  but he pulled through and really sang well for not having any monitor.  he described it as "an old transitor radio in your ear, with someone smashing it over and over," as he stomped on the floor. pretty funny, but they he said "i'll try to do my best to put on a good show" or something like that right after.

See, i think that's awesome. Of course partly i love seeing a flawless performance, but also things like that are great memories if you're really a fan of the guy. Thats a moment unique to the particular show you were at and that's cool.

I just got back. ?Killer show. But the soundman needs to be FIRED.

Axl seemed ?very enthused despite the sound problems. ?The crowd was great. I was suprised so many people showed up, there was very little promotion.

Now if only the album were out. ?I'm sure half the people in attendance would go out and buy it TOMORROW.

my only real complaint, and its more of a planning issue, is that going to the bar at 6, havin a few beers, getting to the show at 8:30, havin a few more, then standing til 2:30 wore me the fuck out.  i guess im getting old or something.  fortunately at exactly the right time, gnr came back with an energy song.  out ta get me, my michelle, nighttrain and pc all were perfect timing.

also, they did close the upper upper deck all together.  im guessing maybe 10,000 or so, just a guess.

Thanks for the reviews guys.  I really don't understand what the issue is with the sound-Axl is always fiddling with that earpiece.  I have seen him just rip it entirely out a few times and just sing without it and he has always sounded fine.

They didn't make it to Cincy, they postponed the show and then cancelled the rescheduled show, back in 1993.

Stupid.... People aren't lying when they say people leave towards the end, just because all of the die-hards here that are down on the floor don't see people leaving doesn't mean that it doesn't happen.... Or that it wasn't a good show regardless.

he just rambled about how the show sucked and axl needs to do this and that - you didn't miss much!

Those people are paid to be in the crowd. At some point Axl will kick them out and it keeps the illusion that anything can happen at a  Gn'R show alive and well.  Someone gets kicked out nearly every show so it's obviously part of the show but we aren't supposed to know. It's like when wrestlers rip up some litte kid's poster. That kid was there as a prop. same thing goes for these guys who get kicked out of the show.

wow back from the show, i'll start the review from entering the arena..... so I got inside the arena at around 7:30 p.m. ?suicide girls came on at around 8. ?Not bad for a bunch of flat chested skanks (they had their good moments, the one with the hula hoop and the weird step ladder thingy) ?anyway, Baz came on, he had great energy, all in all a good show even if you're not a big baz fan. Baz was good at getting the crowd pumped for the greater part of the night. ?then... the torture, the Eagles of Death Metal, were horrid at best, people booed them the ENTIRE TIME... (i'm guilty of it too, they were putting me to sleep so i was like get off the stage queers!!!) anyway, they play an hour set which ended at about 10:45 p.m...... Then they started setting up the stage for GnR and i dunno, i guess they were having tech difficulties or something cuz they stopped, and then a couple of the suicide girls came back on.. by this point it was already about 11:45 p.m. when they were done and people were getting antsy and pissant, a fight or two broke out. ?(btw, i was up front towards the right about 4 rows back from the stage) ?the show seemed to have sold pretty well, About close to 80% or more from my viewpoint. then at around midnight, the darks went off, a low thick bass filled the arena, then robin came out stood RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE SPOT WHERE I WAS, and started playing the WttJ intro notes.... Finally Axl came and started his banshee-like scream... And the show was on! right after jungle they went straight into its so easy, during it's easy to the far left stage he had a guy thrown out it was something along the lines (hey FUCK YOU ASSHOLE!!! get that guy outta here!!!). then they went into live and let die (sorry if i mess up the order of the songs, it's been a loooooong fucking night) then mr. brownstone, then finck solo along with sweet child of mine... afteri believe they played KoHD, then YCBM, i think better, this had a good crowd response from where I was. (sorry like i said i'm really tired and dont remember the correct order) then a dizzy piano solo and then the blues (this was great!!) then there was a bumblefoot solo.. (don't cry) and a fortus solo (excellent guitar player, but during sometimes he creeped me out, he stared at me and a couple of other people... and kinda looked like he was grinding his teeth... just odd ?:-\ my wife pointed this out to me too, at first i thought i was the only one who saw this) don't know if this has been mentioned, but bumblefoot now has dreads, and was sporting a long mandarin style jacket that resembled Neo's from the matrix...anyway back on topic. after the fortus solo i think they went into out ta get me... lots of appetite stuff kept re-energizing the crowd... then at some point axl got baz out for My michelle (great performance) and after that november rain... they did their doodle thing and they played IRS, which was cool, a lot of people were into it. ?Axl also went off on the eagles of death metal at this point, he asked the audience what they thought of him, he referred to them as pigeons of shit metal or something, then went on to say that this was the last night that they would be opening for them, so as to those that said they had SOME booing... they were booed during their entire set....(sorry i know i stated this but, clarifying to everyone else)... ?then i believe came nightrain, which was cool, bumblefoot did a cool outtro solo. ?then came chinese democracy, after CD, i thought they would play PC, but instead we got treated to madagascar, which was great!!.. then came pC confetti and 2 1/2 hours later my feet were hurting, i got shoved and did some shoving (i even watched this one fat chick punch this guy in the face and he got a bloody face from it AND got kicked out)... overall: a good show, GnR needs to release something soon, they would have ALL their old fans back if they would do that and ?continue their tour, or at least announce something.... it's cool their touring, but all their Merch says Chinese democracy on it.... and there's no released music behind it.... it saddens me. ? ? :( ? Also Axl's mini rant on how much his sound tech sucks... and how he was worthless there and that he should go home.. (funny) then he was asking the audience, what do i sound like?? ?Everyone responded with an "awesome or amazing" and he was like, I hear through the monitors if someone plugged in an old radio and someone kept smashing it over and over...
most memorable moments: ?richard playing his solo in front of my area, (and the creepy stare), tommy starting a sing a long during november rain also in front of my area.. and robin's scom solo also in front of me :) ?

Cons: ?eagles of death metal..... and the wait for gnr to appear at midnight (granted I knew what to expect.. and i didn't go sit anywhere cuz i didn't want to lose my spot.. but my feet hurt :( ) oh well it was worth it, it was an awesome show !!

I went to the show tonight and of course it was great.  5 new songs were played tonight which was a plus for me.  Sorry if I repeat some shit but I didn't really read what anyone else previous to me has typed yet.  I'm tired so I'm just going to type out a few highlights for me.  One of the funnies moments was when Axl called The Eagles of Death Metal the Pigeons of Shit Metal and then he said something like, "Thank God that was their last show with us."  They were pretty fucking lame though and all of their songs are almost the same.  Axl was in a good mood but he got pissed off quite a few times.  I'm sure some people have already commented on that douche bag getting thrown out of the show and I'm not real sure what the reason was but when he was being escorted out he threw his thing of popcorn over his head onto a few people and was a real jack ass... good riddance.

Axl had sound issues all night long as he always does and even did a few songs without his ear monitors in at all.  He pulled them out at one point and threw them on the ground and he told the sound guy that there was no point in him even being there and he should just go home.  He told him not to hide this time either when Axl was yelling at him.  He called the sound guy a "dick head" right before November Rain which was pretty funny.  Towards the beginning of the show he even threw his mic stand in the sound guy's direction.  At points Axl's voice cut out completely and you couldn't hear jack shit and this went on for most of the night.  I don't really remember many songs being perfect as far as the sound goes.

Ummmmm.... what else can I think of right now??  We did get up front even though my girlfriend and I were pretty fucking sick but it was well worth it.  The crowd from my viewpoint was pretty damn weak I thought.  Maybe it's just harder to hear the crowd up front but I didn't think the crowd was very loud at all.  Hmmmm... oh yeah one time Robin Finck knocked down a microphone stand on accident and I don't even know if he realized it but Axl was nearby and kicked the stand back up with his foot in one swift motion which I thought was pretty funny considering those guys NEVER touch the stands that get knocked down.

Tommy Stinson seemed to be having sound problems as well and was getting pissed off throughout the night.  Axl sounded great as he usually has during this tour and I couldn't be more happy with his performance.  I hope to hear a boot of this show because there was a lot of shit happening between songs and some really funny shit Axl had said.  I'm sure everyone that went had a great time but a lot of people were fucking complaining about how late Axl had come on and the people around me would not stop bitching about how long it was taking him to come out.  It was pretty fucking obnoxious to say the least but a lot of those people probably aren't used to a Guns show.  It was a Friday night so I didn't think it would have been as big of a deal to most people as it would have been on a weekday but some folks were being dicks about it anyway.

The arena wasn't close to being full and they even had the top levels completely sectioned off with black drapes.  I was a little disappointed by the attendance tonight but that's what ya get when you don't have an album out.  I was the only one around me that knew the new songs other than my girlfriend of course but they seemed to get a pretty decent reaction from the crowd.

SORRY this isn't a good review or hardly a review at all but I'm tired as fuck and therefore my memory and mind isn't working all that well.  I'll try to make better comments in the morning about the show and add to what other people say.  Thanks for reading mother fuckers and go to bed if you're on the East Coast in the US!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  It's almost 6 am!!!!!!!!!!!  AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just got home from the show, I'll do my best to write a review now. I got into Cleveland around 1:30 Friday afternoon, ate at Cooperstown and walked the city with my g\f. By the time we made it back to the Q about 15 people where ahead of us, I didn't care it still allowed me to be front row and I chose to be on the left of the stage right in front of the speakers where Richard and Axl do a lot of work. I had the chance to meet Chinese69Illusions and his brother they stood behind me in line. They drove all the way from Indiana to see the show and I hope they enjoyed it. I'm shooting this off the top of my head and my ears are still ringing 3 hours after the show! Oh well looks like beltones will be getting my business in several years.
Here it goes!
Suicide Girls were the first to go on, I must say the crowd seemed to really enjoy them and they actually have some skill at what they do. There is a smoking brunette and a blond who the crowd seemed to enjoy. I noticed Frank standing to the left of the stage on his cell phone, I wanted to yell at him but out of respect I gave him the metal sign and he gave it right back.

Bach came on stage next and I must say that mother fucker still has some pipes! The crowd loved Bach's set, and he also seemed to enjoy being in Cleveland. He was having fun chanting Cleveland Rocks! He played some of his new stuff which I seemed to enjoy, plus all of his classic. The roof was ready to explode after his performance. Baz's wife was recording his show with a hand held camcorder which I thought was cool and Baz's wife is beautiful!

Eagles of Death Metal where 3rd on the bill, and I was expecting a lot of better things from them. They were not bad, but in return the crowd was already pumped because of Bach's set and they couldn't live up to what was before them. A lot of boo's and chants to get off stage happened. The lead singer of the band, seemed to be cracked-out and in love with himself. Dizzy was standing to the left of the stage watching their set. I also saw Robin come out and check them out for a couple of songs. As soon as the bands set ended the group kinda stood together and gave the crowd a big fuck you look and smirked off stage.

Suicide Girls came back out and did a couple more routines the crowd again seemed to enjoy them. By this time of course the drunks are drunker and the assholes are being bigger assholes so a couple of fights broke out and people were pulled from the crowd. Once the lights went out the wait was well worth it.

Since the set list was posted in the updates I'll save from going through that but I'll share some of moments from the show.
-Jungle of course sent the arena nuts! I don't think anyone was sitting down.
-Axl kicked some guy out I think during Its So Easy! I think the guy flipped Axl off, I was watching Bumble and heard Axl say "No Fuck You" I thought to myself Oh Shit! Here we go. Axl made security take the guy away, which the crowd loved.
-Axl had some terrible problems with his in-ear monitors, he made a comment of it sounded like a smashed AM transistor radio. At one point Axl was bitch at the sound-man, and told him to do his fucking job not hide underneath the console like last time lol. Betta made a appearance on stage, she changed Axl's battery back while he was sitting at the piano before November Rain.
-Axl said today was a very shitty day, until 11:00 when he came to the arena, he thanked the crowd at the end of the night, for turning a horrible day into a good one.
-Axl and the whole band where in positive spirits the whole night!
-Axl was dogging on Eagles of Death Metal and said that it was their first and last show with them.
- Not many people got Franks GUNS N ROSES beat, but damn Frank really impressed me!
-The Solos! Damn we bitch about them on the board but when you see them, you realize why they do it. Its to show off each members talents. Richards solo was FANTASTIC! This man can play, Robins solos where also very good, Bumblefoots solo wasn't bad, but brought the place down with Don't Cry. I must say the best solo of the night was Dizzy's I don't know but hearing him jam on the piano put a lump in my throat. Dizzy is a very valuable part of this band.
-November Rain, the band sounded fucking amazing on this song. Maddy, Chinese, IRS, and of course Nighttrain where peak songs for me tonight.
-Paradise City of course is a perfect song to end the show with, the pyro, and confetti just adds to the elements. Bumble walked the front row allowing fans to touch his guitar. I also loved after the song how the entire band came out and took a bow as ONE!
-Seemed like the crowd enjoyed the new songs and a ton of people where singing Better
-The sound wasn't too bad it was off at times, I think the real problem is it's way to loud!

I must say, this group has the potential to be the best Rock N Roll band out right now, just release Chinese and let the music do the talking! The only Con of the night was waiting so long, and such a late start it was past 2 when I got to the parking lot, but I guess thats can be expected from the fans, but how does the average joe handle this?

This was my 3rd Guns show and by far the best! I'm now off to pop some Tylenol and head to bed. Lets hope the ringing ears are gone when I wake up.

So Axl trash talks his supporting band, he trash talks his soundman, he kicks a fan out for an undisclosed reason and as useual they had "technical problems" I see.? hmmm....? Maybe the sound crew suck because they don't care because they are shown little to no respect and publicly humiliated nightly by Axl. Why doesn't he get new sound techs than? It's a built in excuse or what? Fire them, hire some competent people and get on with it. That or stop bitching them out because obviously he's got to accept some of the blame. Show up for a sound check or set the damn thing up yourself ::)? I know we all know about how late they come on stage but that seriously ruins it for some people. We can handle it but even people on this board who went to the show say it was way too long. They gotta be careful how much they voice that opinion though because the earth could be knocked outta rotation if they say too much, but still is even 11:00pm too much to ask? It's ridiculous. And no I'm not some scrub bitching on the internet who will never go to a show. I have tickets to a show and I've seen them once already so...
?
? Anyways I saw the setlist and thought you lucky bastards who got treated to Madagascar right at the end :smoking:. that's different for sure. I thinkThe Blues would fit better right there though.? That'd be a near perfect encore...CD, The Blues, PC. But still getting the unexpected Madagascar was cool no doubt.? I love reading about people's thoughts on Richard after seeing them. Richard fucking rips. Glad you guys all had a good time. Can't wait to see them.? Also I'm glad everyone is saying how good Baz has been. I didn't really care before but he's getting good reviews from all you guys so that's cool. I look forward to seeing him now. I wonder who will replace "POSM" now if anyone? ???

This show sounds so cool...in other times Axl would have just gone home with all these problems. Now I am finally convinced that he is up for a full world tour!!!

Strange though that they obviously did not check out the Pigeons of trash metal before

Great show-my brothers-casual Guns fans-thought his anger added to the show-I've only heard the better demo a few times and that impressed me the most-new songs came off really well-the midnight coming on stuff just wears some people out-I didn't mind, off work today, but did notice people occasionaly leaving-Tommy seemed not as energetic as the last tour, Robin was awsome-overall a great show-glad to hear Maddy-I'm off to Detroit for round 2 in a few minutes

Wasn't last night the first night that Pigeons of Shit Metal were on the tour? 1 show and they get the boot...

Good, that means i won't have to see them in Chicago.

If i get to the arena by about 9:30, do you guys think i'll make it in time to see Bach?

Last night back was on when we got there at around 9, he had a club apperance at 10-I'm not sure if his schedule is changing every night-call the arena before you leave, although of course they gave me the wrong time for Baz, but the whole night seemed screwed up

Meant to say Baz was on at 9-I'm really tired-Axl did say the Cleveland show and Cinci (he may have meant Columbus)-were his favorite shows of 2002-we rock, what can you say? He and the band were in an awsome mood in 2002

well after seeing the setlist I'm glad I chose the WV show instead of Cleveland.  I'm sure it was good last night and I wish I was there but the WV show has had one of the best setlists of the tour.  I'll still see them again in columbus if they come here on the next leg of the tour.

It was awesome how he did it though,

That ranks right up there with how he threw the guy out of the RIR 3 concert!

Get that guy outta here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pigeons of Shit Metal

that is absolutely genius.

The Wit Axl has is out of this world.

I just got back to the 'burgh from the show.  Overall I had a great time and the band sounded very good.  Here's some of my thoughts from the night....

I skipped most of the opening acts.  I caught the end of Bach's set and I thought he was pretty impressive.  He did a good job getting the crowd into the show and he sounded very good.  I caught a few songs of pigeons of shit metal and they were indeed terrible.  Great job by Axl of getting rid of them.  The Suicide Girls came back on for a few songs and they were just trashy....not much else to say about them.

GN'R hit the stage around midnight.  I think everyone here is aware of the crowd getting pissed about Axl going on late, especially last night so I'll leave it at that.  Jungle, ISE, Brownstone and LALD were awesome and the crowd was really into it.   The first four songs were probably the best part of the night for me due to the crowd energy and the anticipation.

The rest of the show was pretty solid although there were many times when we couldn't hear Axl at all.  I was about 15 rows back on the floor, middle of the stage.  The new songs really rocked but of course the crowd wasn't into them at all (no surprise, release the album already).  Everyone around me agreed that the new songs were good but complained that they shouldn't be playing so many new songs when no one knows them.  They were asking if Civil War, Estranged, Rocket Queen, etc were going to be played.  Oh well, I enjoyed hearing 5 new ones. IRS was probably the best of them.  Axl really put a lot of energy and rasp into it, even more so than Better.

The solos were good but really killed the crowd energy.  Fortus and Finck both impressed me.  Dizzy sounded good but his solo was long and really killed the crowd.  The Fortus solo was excellent and Ron Thal's was decent although by the fourth solo I was just hoping it would be over fast.

Everyone that I went with and the people that I was talking to on the way out all agreed that it was a very good (not quite great) show.  The sound problems and too many solos were the main complaints.  The new songs seemed to go over well even though people weren't familiar with them.  I have no doubt most people there would rush out to get Chinese Democracy.

This new band is definitely awesome and puts on a hell of a show.  I still don't understand the need for 3 guitarists (Fortus really impressed me) but I'm no musician and Axl & company know best.  I forgot Chris Pittman was even there most of the night until I heard a silkworms type buzzing during the beginning of November Rain.  Again, not sure why he is needed but he must play a bigger part in the new songs.  He did sound good on Madagascar though.

Anyway, I'll stop rambling now.  For the most part I was extremely impressed and happy with the show.  Hopefully the next time I see GNR will be after the record is released and then everyone can really rock to the new songs.

Concert was incredible, Axl didnt go on till after 12, he kicked out some fan,Axl kicked the opening act off the tour, "The Eagles of Death Metal" Axl called them "The Pigions of Shit Metal". Suicide Girls were awesome, lots of boobies hoola hooping and chocolate sauceing each other. Sebastian Bach ruled! GNR played till after 2. At the end I got to touch Bumblefoots guitar + I got to drink Robins water.

Tommy was definitely pissed at the show.  I didn't make that up.  He was pissed off at the sound guy too and more than a couple of times.  I was in the very front and it was very easy to see.

EDIT:  That really pisses me off that you told me that I was making stuff up.  WHY THE FUCK WOULD I JUST MAKES SOMETHING UP??  I have never made anything up on this board and if you paid attention to anything you would realize that. Tommy was mouthing words to the crowd during a FEW songs but how does that mean he wasn't pissed off at the sound guys??  You can't do both at the same time??  Axl was in a good mood but he was pissed most of the night at the sound dumb asses. AS I SAID I WAS IN THE VERY FRONT and if you weren't then you probably didn't get to see him bitching at the sound guy or his bass tech and throwing shit down like Axl did and at one point he even knocked down his mic stand because he was pissed.  WAKE UP AND DON'T EVER TELL ME TO NOT MAKE STUFF UP!!!!  That's fucking bull shit.

YOU NEED TO NOT MAKE STUFF UP AND PAY ATTENTION TO THE SHOW!!!!

because tommy stood infront of my section for most of the show... that's why... SO DON'T MAKE STUFF UP... he seemed alright, not too energetic but not pissed, he came closer to the crowd mouthing the words..... how do you know he was mad at this or that, speculating over it, and passing it as fact = making stuff up.

edit: if you read my review you would know that I was up close and to the right,j i could see where the band came in and where they changed instruments, i saw axl bitching and being pissed, and tommy switching bass guitars around, he didn't seem all too pissed...   and during all the show tommy did backups vocals i could hear him perfectly. and it wasn't just his ear piece it was the stage monitors that really pissed off axl.. he even said it before november rain started.

I read on another forum that a guy in the audience threw a beer at Axl and that is why he kicked him out:

But throughout the show his monitor was fucking up and he was motioning side stage a lot kind of signaling that he couldnt hear anything. But he was always cool to the audience (aside from that one douche who threw a beer at him and got kicked out) he seemed in a bright mood towards the crowd saying that he was really looking forward to the Cleveland show, and he always feels comfortable playing there.

Wow, you're crazy.  It's not really that hard to see when someone is upset about something or if something is pissing him off.  I don't ever remember saying Tommy was pissed off ALL NIGHT LONG.  All I said was that he had his moments just like Axl did and Tommy was all over the stage during the night and didn't stay near one section.  I was in the center in the front and could see him very clearly.  If you were in a "section" as you said and therefore beside the stage in seats then you would have no idea about everything I saw, would you??  Did you ever notice that Tommy left the stage a couple of times during the show while he was playing??  You obviously saw every single thing that happened at the show and if you didn't see it then it didn't happen... Right??  Stop acting like a fucking 10 year old because if you didn't see shit happen that other people saw then don't act like it NEVER HAPPENED.

And I don't remember saying that Axl's ear piece was the only thing going wrong and pissing him off last night, did I??  I do remember mentioning that at times Axl couldn't even be heard and completely cut out at times.  I'm done arguing with you about stuff that you missed.  You can't watch everyone at the same time and if something happened that I didn't see, I wouldn't be a fucking jack ass and tell people to stop making stuff up.  That's childish and it's stupid.  I'm sorry you feel the need to act that way but I'm happy that I obviously got to see much more of the show than you did.  You missed out on some cool shit.

I was at the show last night and it was by leaps and bounds the best concert I have ever been too.  That being said I have never seen Guns before so of course I was going to have a great time, but I was really impressed with Axl's voice and how tight the new band sounded.  I was right up in the front row and in the center, so I can't really judge crowd reaction as everyone around me was a hardcore fan.  However my dad went to the show and was up in the seats, and he agreed that it was the best show he has ever seen, despite the sound problems.  My favorite songs of the night were YCBM, Axl fucking nailed the ending just like on the album, and Nightrain, even though i didn't like Ron's solo as much as Slash or Buckets.  Anyways, it was a great time and i hope GNR come back to Cleveland soon.

I'm glad you had an awesome time at your first Guns show.  It will be something you never forget.  It's cool as hell that your dad went with you and I wish I could get my dad to go see Guns with me sometime.  That was the first time that I got to see Ron live and he didn't impress me as much as I had expected him too either.  Richard Fortus is the guitar player that impresses me the most.  That guy can fucking play like a mother fucker and I think he's just about as good of a guitar player that this band has ever had in it.  We'll see what he brings to CD in terms of music he has written but as far as just playing the guitar the guy is great.  Again, I'm glad you had a fun time and I'm hoping with you that they come back to the Cleveland area soon.

I just go back home from the Cleveland show last night. Where to start Bazz's band was pretty damn goodo the suicide girls can dance very well but I fucked up when they where on stage because I thought I would be smart and buy my merchandise real quik then get up front well I was standing there with my poster in hand about 2 rows back from the stage and one of them through a pitcher of water into the crowd and my poster got soaked I bought another oen at the end of the show though. Eeagles of death metal sucked badly so much so when axl took stage that night He refered to them if I remember it right the pidgons of shit metal and hwo they would never open for them again. I loved the band I will not post the setlist because it has already been posted but I was waiting for Axl to kill the soundguy he was super pissed the mic kept cutting out and the music kept changing volume radically but the band played fucking awsome one hell of a show. Axl told the sound got to just fucking go home not hide under the soundtable just fucking leave and he said it sounded like a busted am transiter radio. I think the band should put an add up and find a sound tech to go on tour with them that knows what the fuck they are doing. I just wanted to thank the band for putting up with the sound problems and giving one hell of a show

Oh yeh I also got to meet megamusic from teh board when I was in line he's down to earth cool guy.

i went to the show with estranged88, we got there at about 1 to wait in line. Maybe a little early....but well worth the wait. we fucking ran and got front and center. It was fucking AWESOME. axl was really great, especially considering all the "sound problems". i think he did a fantastic job even with that. Nighttrain was amazing, paradise city kicked ass, better and the blues were sweet. i personally hated robin's solos, i really can't stand his style, but other than that, ron and fortus were great. axl really hated that sound guy haha, calling him a dickhead and telling him, you might as well go home, there's really no reason for you to be here. the new songs fit perfectly into the setlist and were really great. axl seemed a little pissed to me the first few songs, between the sound guy and the guy he threw out, but then he was fine the rest of the night. he had so much energy and was just incredible. bach was sweet as well, although a little cheesy at some points, he definitely knows how to play to the crowd and got everyone going pretty good. some fuckers behind me ruined my michelle by getting into a fight, the security guard dove over me, blocking my view of the stage for a minute. i was fucking pissed. i caught bach's bassist's water bottle at the end of their set, thank god, i was so fucking thirsty! otherwise, a really fantastic show, best one ive ever been to. totally worth waiting 11 hours from start to finish

tommy was never pissed during the show, where do you come up with that??? ??? ??? he was mouthing the words to the crowd while he was playing..... don't make stuff up man...
I was there, and something was bothering tommy.I dont even think he came out to say goodnight with the rest of the band
Tommy was definitely pissed at the show.? I didn't make that up.? He was pissed off at the sound guy too and more than a couple of times.? I was in the very front and it was very easy to see.

EDIT:? That really pisses me off that you told me that I was making stuff up.? WHY THE FUCK WOULD I JUST MAKES SOMETHING UP??? I have never made anything up on this board and if you paid attention to anything you would realize that. Tommy was mouthing words to the crowd during a FEW songs but how does that mean he wasn't pissed off at the sound guys??? You can't do both at the same time??? Axl was in a good mood but he was pissed most of the night at the sound dumb asses. AS I SAID I WAS IN THE VERY FRONT and if you weren't then you probably didn't get to see him bitching at the sound guy or his bass tech and throwing shit down like Axl did and at one point he even knocked down his mic stand because he was pissed.? WAKE UP AND DON'T EVER TELL ME TO NOT MAKE STUFF UP!!!!? That's fucking bull shit.

YOU NEED TO NOT MAKE STUFF UP AND PAY ATTENTION TO THE SHOW!!!!

me and my homie said hi to dizzy by section 124 i think it was after BAZ.

This was my 8th GNR show.I thought the floor crowd sucked!Axl was in a horriable mood.Right off the bat Robin accidently unplugged axl's earpiece.axl said"you unplugged me YOU IDIOT!!!".Then axl was fucking w/ his earpiece for about three songs.TOTALLY GRINDING his teeth the whole time.It felt like any song could have been the last of the night. He was pissed ALL NIGHT LONG.
Something must have pissed Axl off 'bout 'the pigions of shit metal'  besides them just sucking to piss him off THAT much.
I believe someone in the "industry" has AXL by the balls about this tour and how he cant fuck up and kill the tour mid way trough again. He thanked the crowd again after PC..........he's doing that at all the shows.Even if the crowd is lame he's gonna do that for now on. ::)
I still enjoy the show....i'm a sick fan....as we all are here.......I'm ready for the next show ,maybe this summer!!!! :peace:

Thank you.  I can't believe I was being called a liar by someone because of what I saw happen.

EDIT:  Let me clear this up because DUFFIO has a huge problem with what I said and he can't let it go... Tommy was having issues THROUGHOUT THE NIGHT but it wasn't for every fucking second of the show.

It wasn't even close to the amount of problems that Axl was having but Tommy did have his moments and there were a few of them.

I'm sorry if people confused what I said before when I said, "Tommy Stinson seemed to be having sound problems as well and was getting pissed off throughout the night," and thought that sentence meant that Tommy was mad for every second and wasn't happy the entire time and never even looked at the crowd and lit his bass guitar on fire and layed on it to hide his pain, etc. (That didn't happen, for you misinterpreters)  That's not how I wanted that simple ass sentence to be interpreted

I apologize for the HUGE misunderstanding that Duffio brought to my attention 100 times and I didn't mean for it to ruin people's lives as it did his.  Thank you for listening and again I am so terribly, terribly sorry for the intense pain that I have caused in Duffio's life.

Well....aside from all that....
Thanks to all for your updates and reviews. Sounds like it was a great show. I used to live in the area.
I wish to hell that Axl and Co would  come  to the midwest so we can partake as well...
Thanks to all.

Since lennonisgod blocked messages from me and decided to chew me out, this it he only way I can reply, I don't care if this gets me bad karma or whatever, but if he wants to say something he should at least listen to what I had to say in return. given you had the time to type all this shit, i can't help but put in about 30 seconds of my time for this.

This is the message he wrote:
Tommy Stinson seemed to be having sound problems as well and was getting pissed off throughout the night."

'Throughout' means "from beginning to end."  He was having problems from the start of the show to the end of the show.    His issues were scattered throughout the night and you cried like a fucking little girl when I said one sentence.  I never said that he had a problem every second and he was never happy the whole show.  Why you think that is beyond me?? He left a few times during the concert and went backstage but I'm sure you saw that because you didn't take your eyes off of Tommy the whole night, right?? I'm not the only one that saw what I saw though, so you're alone with your RETARDED opinion.  You're a fucking retard for even saying anything to me.  You tried to start a fight because you're retarded, didn't you??  I'm not a retard and that pisses you off so you tried to start an argument with me, right??  It's not my fault you're a fucking decelerated fuck, that's your parents fault.  Go blame them and stop trying to start shit with someone that is WAAAAY above your level mentally.  I don't have time for your idiocy and your lack of gumption or for your half-wit comments that don't make sense.  I won't read any more stupid messages from you because you can't even type right.  Have you ever heard of CAPITAL LETTERS YOU DUMB ASS!!!!!  I'm sorry you were too retarded to realize what was going on at the show but me and a quite a few other people that were there, saw what happened.

And what was with that stupid "Canaries of poop metal" comment??  Was that the bird name you used??  That made me laugh because of how fucking stupid it was.  You took something someone else said and tried to make it your own and failed miserably.  I am done talking to you and don't even bother writing anything back because I refuse to read shit from people that can't type to save their lives.  Educated much or are you just a little kid??  You can't spell and you can't even make sentences without adding too many words that don't belong, so what's your deal??  For real... if you need some tutoring or something I can help you.  I know a lot of teachers and I even have some in the family and I'm sure they would be happy to help out someone that can't read or write.

I am so pisses that I actually had to stoop to your retarded level and write a response to you.  "Watch what you say before you say anything."  Is that supposed to be a threat from a retard?  Hahahahahahaha!!!!  You're the most pathetic person I've ever talked to on this forum, EVER.  I'm sure you'll be a loser though and continue on with your virtuous (haha) comments in the forum and during threads because that's how cool you are.  The last person that did that shit was banned and I honeslty won't miss you so I'll talk to you later

This is my reply:

i said parakeets of poop metal. and before i saw the eagles of death metal i called them that.  Axl just happens to be famous and his version is what everyone emulated.  piss off, i thought you said you were done arguing with me.. right? and I type just fine, I don't care for capital letters for a fucking forum where a bunch of fucktards make shit up about a band they dream about being in and fantasize about.  FUCK YOU. how's that for some capital letters?

Hmmmm... I don't really know what to say.  Bringing PRIVATE matters and posting them in a thread??  I don't think anyone cares to read about the fight we had in our PM's and you're just ruining this thread further than you already have.  I won't play the kids games and post the PM you had sent me that made me respond in the way I did, but by people reading what I typed in response they can figure out what kind of PM that was.

"I am so pissed that I actually had to stoop to your retarded level and write a response to you."

That should pretty much say it all to people.  I stooped to his level but I refuse to go any further down with him, especially to the point he is now.  I blocked your PM's for a reason and sadly enough, you were only the second person I have ever had to block.

I just feel bad for everyone here that you had to bring these matters up publicly, when nobody here could give two shits about what you or I say in our PM's to one another.  This board is for GNR and people don't come here to read this shit.  THAT'S WHY THEY ARE CALLED PRIVATE MESSAGES.  But based on your level of intelligence you obviously missed that.

EDIT:  This isn't a very nice comment to say about his forum btw:

...a fucking forum where a bunch of fucktards make shit up about a band they dream about being in and fantasize about.

The least you could do was make your response solely to me and leave everyone else out of this.  Why do you come here if you really feel that way about this forum??

I didn't see this happen but others may have.  If the comment is indeed accurate and Axl really did say that, then Robin should have been pissed the fuck off.  I just can't see Axl saying that to one of these guys though.  It seems like something he would have said back in 1992 to one of the old members and not towards someone in the current line-up.  I would hope that Axl has matured enough to learn that he can't treat his bandmates like shit anymore or he'll be putting together a new band eventually.

I don't think this is true but I will stand corrected if it is actually proven as fact.

Listen, i dunno what everyone was pissed about. I was second row just right of center stage and it was a great show. Yea, it was my first GnR show but it was awesome. Yes Tommy was sorta pissed throughout the night but so was Axl. In the end it created a great show I felt, there was cursing and yelling, everything a rocknroll show should be. At the end of the night Axl was talking about how it coulda ended up being a shitty show, but the band ended up having a good time because of the crowd.

on a sidenote i have a totally new respect for madagascar, that song live is just amazing
it was a sweet show so everyone just shut the fuck up

thanks

I do remember him saying something like this and haveing to put his earpiece back on, but Im pretty sure later that song he was smileing and whispering to Robin, so if he did say that it was probably a joke or he was apolagizeing for it a few minutes later.

I'm suprised anyone got pictures, the security was tight as a fucking drum. I was pretty damn close to the stage and anytime someone tried to take a picture the gaurds would just hold the camera downward and say "no pictures or we take it away". I couldnt believe it, they were like rocknroll nazis.

I do remember one security guard right in the front that was mouthing the words to almost every song which I thought was pretty funny.  He probably loved the fact that he had to work that night.

In Halifax it was sloppy. But it was kind of the style hes playing it seemed to be a Jimmy Page vibe and he is one of the most sloppy players ive seen.

Very cool! I saw him standing to the left of the stage watching the EODM. I think I remember seeing you arrive to the show while many of us were freezing outside. By the way Dizzys jacket kicks ass! I wonder if we will be seeing that in the merch anytime soon?
