Yeah, it's probably this festival's debut.  I'll change that part.  He said the tour would begin around the time of the album release (April 6th).

We would like to make it clear, in case there is some confusion with all the different projects we have going on, that Myles will not begin the Slash Tour until we are finished recording Alter Bridge III. Myles will then return from the Slash Tour before October, when we plan to go out on tour again, starting in Europe and the UK.

In the meanwhile, we are trying to make the best album we can so we better get back to it. We'll let you know when recording officially begins and any other new news that may pop up so check back.

Keep rocking,

Alter Bridge

It feel like Alter Bridge may be a little worried....  Are they scared they may lose their singer to Slash?

No - they're just openly communicating with their fans

I don't think the last Alter Bridge album did really well-the Creed tour I guess didn't do that well according to Rolling Stone-Alter Bridge is just trying to keep people interested who might think he is leaving-I would imagine in the US at least a Slash solo tour might draw close to or better than an Alter Bridge tour

Slash's Tour has the potential to draw as much as a the current GNR tour.... Especially if some of these songs get a lot of air play.

Whatever your smoking or snorting you need to stop now, its melting your brain. Slash is not even going to draw close tot he numbers Guns is doing now, hell VR and AIC were not even drawing those kind of numbers on the last tour.

I don't know if this is the case in the US, but in Europe he could easily fill a 2500 seat place.

Hook, Line, sinker.....HA!!!!!  I love fishing sometimes, I caught a big one here!!  I hope he does small theatre shows...  Depending who is in his band, he may get some good crowds....

Title: Re: SLASH - Solo Tour Dates
Post by: metallex78 on February 14, 2010, 12:46:56 AM
I don't think Slash would do anywhere near GN'R size venues, but no doubt this tour will get a hell of a lot of promo for it, so I could definitely see some smaller venues selling out, especially if the album has a few hits and his touring band is a solid bunch of musicians.

Any guesses as to who the rest of the bad will be?
It'd be cool to to see Gilby on rhythm guitar with him again.

In the US, I suspect he'll do places like the Fillmore in Frisco, Nokia in LA, Area 5 in NYC, The Joint in Vegas, House of Blues' etc..

Keep it intimate and get a buzz, make it a hot ticket.

There'nothing worse than a overblown production playing to a half empty venue..

Just an opinion..

I think the singer will prob play rhythm with Chris Chaney (Alanis Morrisette, Janes Addiction. Panic Channel, Camp Freddy) on bass.

He won't have any problem getting someone behind the kit, wouldn't surprise me if Travis Barker gets the gig...

I'm really excited that in Australia we'll finally get to hear some Snakepit songs live too, as Slash has suggested he'll be covering that, VR and GN'R as well as his newest solo stuff.

I second this, small venues that he knows will sell well -- maybe not a sell out, but enough to make it worth it.

I'm planning on seeing him when he comes around, saw VR back in 2005 and I loved every minute of seeing Slash.

I'm a HUGE slash fan but there is just no way in hell he can pack an arena like Axl and Co are doing right now. It's gonna be  House of Blues smaller venue type thing which is still f'n cool but lets be realistic.

Does anyone know what Josh Freese is going to be up to this year? He played drums for the album, so I would think maybe he might be the guy behind the drum kit if he wasn't busy. We know he took Jason Bonham to Quart festival last year, so maybe he could be another option depending on what he is doing.

Kennedy is a very good guitar player, but I still hope they have another guitar player to cover all the parts and so that on some songs Myles can just rock the fuck out!  Eric Dover is a good guitar player as well, but even then Gilby stilled played rythym in Snkaepit 1.

And finally, Slash had some great things to say about Myles in an LA Times interview and Slash also revealed that he and Myles will be playing many old Guns 'N Roses tunes on the upcoming tour this summer. Please note that while the author states that Myles "fronted" Alter Bridge in the past tense, incorrectly, we all know that Myles will be back with us in October to begin our own World Tour.

Keep rocking,

From Myles Kennedy:

Thursday, March 18, 2010

Just wanted to drop by and let you know that Slash's record is available to pre-order.

I am so excited to be a part of his record.....HUGE HONOR!!!!

Tonight I finished singing the 9th song for the new AB record.  We started vocals late last week.  At this rate, vocals for all 17 tracks should be done in a few days.

We should have the entire album recorded by the end of next week.

The day after we finish.....I am on a plane to LA to start rehearsing with Slash for the upcoming tour.

...........I love my job:)

All the best

mk

Hellfest, Clisson, FRANCE June. 19th added !

Quote
Slash, the famous guitarist will come to Clisson!

The full line up was announced on the 25th February, but sometimes surprises can happen! We're pleased and proud to announce that the legendary guitarist of Guns n' Roses and Velvet Revolver SLASH has just confirmed his participation at HELLFEST on Saturday 19th June along with ALICE COOPER, TWISTED SISTER, etc?

Many of you (like us to be honest!) thought that the bill was definitely closed and that there wouldn't be any more additions, but what could we do? Could we refuse to see such a legend on the festival's stage? We decided to give you this little gift which will, for sure, satisfy all the fans of hard rock.

SLASH will be accompanied by famous musicians such as Myles Kennedy (Alter Bridge), Bobby Schenck (Slash's Snakepit / Aerosmith), Todd Kerns (Age Of Electric / Sin City Sinners) and Brent Fritz (Theory Of A Deadman / Alice Cooper). He will play songs from his latest solo album and classics of Guns n' Roses and Velvet Revolver.

HELLFEST will be upon us in less than 80 days and tickets are selling really well. This gives us high hopes that the festival should be sold out in advance! You know what you have to do now!

Slash band, Sin City Sinners - Todd Kerns 04-01-2010

THURSDAY, APRIL 8, 2010

What follows is an exclusive interview with Todd Kerns. During this interview we discussed Kerns involvement with Slash, the Sin City Sinners and much more.

RockMusicStar: Hey Todd, thank you for calling us here at RockMusicStar.com. First of all, congratulations on your new gig as the bassist for Slash?s new band.  You must be very excited about that.

Todd Kerns: Yeah, it?s pretty rad. Yesterday, we were sitting here at rehearsal going over the tracks and all of a sudden Steven Adler walks in. That was quite surreal. (Laughs)

RMS: No shit!

TK: It was one of those moments were you go, wow this is really great. But the gig with Slash has been a lot of fun, a real blast. It one of those crazy experiences that comes out of nowhere. So it?s now time to roll with it.

RMS: It sounds like Slash has put a great band together. He didn?t go and get super big all-star A-list names. But instead, he assembles a group of lesser known, talented musicians.

TK: Apparently, he was looking to do something fresh. For such an accomplished guy, he really wanted to find some fresh, new people to play with. When you play with new people it gives you a new charge. The guitarist, Bobby Schneck previously played with Slash in his blues band.

RMS: Are you rehearsing for a tour, or are you just getting ready for your upcoming TV appearances?

TK: There is going to be a quick Australian run and then some other things after that. Of which I still haven?t officially? I?m still up to my ears in the Sin City Sinners presently, so we are trying to make the best of everything here. But, we are trying to make everything work. The thing about the Sinners is that we have always been a creature doing something challenging, different and fun.

RMS My last question is back to Slash. What songs are you rehearsing with him? Is it mostly solo stuff or are you guys doing any classic Guns n? Roses?

TK: You know it?s a pretty even reflection of songs from his career. There are Velvet Revolver songs, Slash?s Snake Pit, covers and some Guns n? Roses and stuff from his solo Cd.

Any mention of the rest of the setlist?  What VR songs were played, any other GNR songs, what songs from the new CD?

Myles sounded alright from what I could tell, but he was hard to hear for the most part.  Also seemed like he didn't even sing in some parts and let the crowd take over.  First performance, so maybe he'll round into finer form.  Good stuff nonetheless.  Great to hear "Civil War" played again!

G-TARanaki is back and the biggest news this year is that SLASH, considered to be one of the greatest rock guitarists of all time will headline G-TARanaki International Music Week 2010.

The former lead guitarist of GUNS N' ROSES, who also formed supergroup VELVET REVOLVER, has performed with the likes of MICHAEL JACKSON, AC/DC and more recently collaborated with FERGIE, IGGY POP, OZZY OSBOURNE and CHRIS CORNELL for his newly released self-titled solo album.

Slash will perform in concert on Saturday night at TSB Stadium and also in the Saturday night Midnight Session at Puke Ariki, New Plymouth. G-TARanaki will be the only opportunity for fans to see Slash, performing exclusively for the first time in NZ since playing to 52,000 people at Auckland?s Mount Smart Stadium with Guns N? Roses in 1993.

Tickets will be on sale at Ticketmaster ? from Monday May 31.

What is G-TARanaki?

G-TARanaki is New Zealand?s only international guitar festival which brings some of the world?s best guitarists to Taranaki to educate, entertain and inspire music lovers. It provides the opportunity to learn from legends who really know their stuff! This year the event will be held from 11-15 August 2010 in New Plymouth, Taranaki.

It?s about making A-list artists accessible to New Zealanders through concertsand intimate Midnight Sessions; creating awareness of the opportunities within the music industry through panel discussion forums and developing the artistic talents of young aspiring artists through the Sky Academy workshops and master classes.

The five day event features:

- Two major concerts - held at TSB Stadium, tickets available online at Ticketmaster from Monday 31 May
- Three exclusive Midnight Sessions ? held at Puke Ariki, tickets available online at Ticketmaster from Monday 31 May
- Three Sky Academy workshops, master classes and performances ? held at TSB Showplace, free entry for secondary school students in Taranaki
- Three forums ? held at Puke Ariki, free entry
- A range of free workshops and clinics at TSB Showplace
- An exhibition of rare and valuable guitars ? displayed at Puke Ariki, free entry

Slash will give another show in the Netherlands on may 31st in the paradiso, Amsterdam. It's an old church where guns n' roses played in '87. It's a nice little venue (capacity is 1.500).

I'll be attending that show and will be streaming some songs, probably civil war if he plays that one.. but I'll give you all a reminder a couple of days before the actual show :)

http://www.paradiso.nl/web/Agenda-Item/SLASH.htm
tickets go on sale tomorrow

damn!! it?s already sold out and my reservation didn?t turn out well!! For some reason the system had problems with Gmail... So now I don?t have tickets!!?! Anyone who can help me out?

That sucks :( There was a warning on the mainpage of the paradiso, I'm afraid there's not much you can do about it..

I now know, didn't see it for some reason... :S And I know, can't get a ticket from the site, so I hope someone here has a spare ticket I can buy or so... :)

I've seen tickets going for ?60 on the web, You'll be buying from scalpers though so be wary....
I still might get some tickets if I survive pinkpop that is  ;D

http://blogs.todayonline.com/poparazzi/2010/04/30/gig-update-update-slash-in-town-with-myles/ (http://blogs.todayonline.com/poparazzi/2010/04/30/gig-update-update-slash-in-town-with-myles/)

SLASH, the iconic rocker is set to perform in Singapore for the first time on August 2nd, 2010 at Fort Canning Park!

Slash is touring in support of his new debut album.

Touring band members:
Myles Kennedy ? Vocals
Bobby Schneck ? Guitar
Todd Kerns ? bass guitar
Brent Fitz ? Drums

Few artists in rock ?n? roll can carry off a single name, and carry it with gravitas. That is except Slash. And few guitarists command as much respect as Slash.

Since emerging into the frontline of iconic rockers with the late-?80s surge of his seminal band Guns N? Roses, has been one of the world?s most sought after guitarists. Iconic musicians are often looking to Slash to add that special touch to recordings.

After Guns N? Roses sold more than 100 million albums worldwide and dominated the music industry with its signature album Appetite For Destruction, Slash went on to see critical acclaim with Slash?s Snakepit and global success with Velvet Revolver. Fans have also flocked to imitate Slash style in Guitar Hero III: Legend Of Rock where he is one of the most recognized playable characters. He is also know as a guitar connoisseur, owning more than 100 guitars, many custom made for him, and a Gibson Signature Slash model made in his honor.

The solo album comes on the recent heels of several other projects such as recording songs with Ron Wood of the Rolling Stones on his upcoming solo album, writing and performing his first full film score, sitting in with the Black Eyed Peas in concert, and co-writing his 2007 autobiography Slash. All signs indicate Slash won?t be slowing down anytime soon.

Another rockin? show by LAMC Productions!

Prices (Sistic booking fee applies)
Early Bird: $98 (For a limited period)

Tickets on sale May 7 all Sistic outlets.

its on Lothian Road and its quite nice inside.

Believe it was formally Revolution nightclub (was very drunk in the 90's  :hihi:) but its totally different from that.

All dark wood and cast steel, quite nice inside and not flea-pit stlye. Theres also a balcony upstairs.

Was there for the Answer last year for the first time and was impressed, although the sound down the front was a bit bass heavy.

Much nicer than the 02 in Glasgow or (god forbid) the barrowlands. And I can get a train home

I'll be going to this.  Havent heard his album yet, but this gig is right on my doorstep!
I saw The Dead Weather and Nick Cave at this venue last year and its a decent wee venue with fairly ok sound.  Last time I was there I was impressed that you could wander between the balcony upstairs and downstairs - it wasnt strictly ticketed for each area like Brixton in London.

I remember when it was a very sticky disco called Century 2000..   :hihi:  but its great for Edinburgh - many more bands etc are playing here at this venue rather than Glasgow, whereas years ago I remember constantly trekking to glasgow for gigs.

so, im not the only one from edinburgh on the board then?

This is not complete.
The 26th he plays at Graspop Metal Meeting, Dessel, Belgium.
Maybe there are other dates left ...
He's site is also not up to date.

Hell of a big gap July 10th to 2nd August that I'd imagine must be filled, unless Myles Kennedy needs to do something in that time period to finish off the new Alter Bridge album?

I hope you can keep your small venue. A lot of the concerts in Europe are having to be reschedule to larger venues. Of course it might be different in the US.

I am hoping for the HOB here in Orlando for the venue if he comes here.

Getting moved because of increased demand is fine. I would rather they start with smaller venues, and only move if the demand warrants it than start off trying to play venues that are too big for Slash and being stuck with half and quarter filled places. It sucks the life out of a show when that happens. This way at least we are somewhat guaranteed of a packed house be it in a small club or slightly bigger spot because the demand dictated it.

In two weeks I'll try and broadcast some stuff from his gig in Amsterdam. I'm not sure if it's going to work all that well over the 3g network, but it's worth a try, right?
If you want to know when and how: follow me on twitter -> svdv22 (please unfollow again after the show - if I tweet it's in dutch anyway :D)
But my broadcasting app will automatically tweet when I go live:)
I might give live updates about the setlist if anybody wants to.

CONCERT REVIEW | ROCK ON THE RANGE
Zombie, Slash give crowd enough thrills
Monday,  May 24, 2010 12:02 AM
By Kevin Joy
THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

Rock on the Range, a blistering outdoor bacchanal where uncouthly phrased T-shirts and glow-in-the-dark devil-horn headbands are de rigueur - and baring one's breasts atop a companion's shoulders can easily win as much audience affection as a headlining band - is about more than skin and sin.

The two-day festival, which concluded last night in Columbus Crew Stadium, was, in part, about reunions. The night closed with a performance by 1990s rap-metal revelers Limp Bizkit, who joined up again last year because of their "boredom" with and disgust for the state of the rock industry.

Perhaps they should have stayed defunct.

Judging by the opening songs, which featured 39-year-old frontman Fred Durst whining about how "drama makes the world go round" and dropping a tidal wave of angst-free f-bombs, the entertainment's expiration date was evident when the audience began to filter out early.

To be fair, Durst did perform My Generation, whose chorus repeatedly states that he doesn't care much about what you think, anyway.

More context, though, would have helped; Limp Bizkit began 20 minutes past its scheduled start time, and the full set couldn't be viewed to meet deadline.

Yet Rock on the Range was also about not being too old to, well, simply rock - or, as Rob Zombie demonstrated, be moderately ridiculous.

The devilish 45-year-old amped up the crowd with yowls, small talk and a sense of ghoulish fun.

His stage show featured giant moving robots (prominently showcased during a performance of his 1995 hit More Human than Human), synchronized plumes of fire and snippets looped from B-list horror flicks - including his own, House of 1000 Corpses.

In Zombie's case, at least, the music had beat and bite, including an extended guitar solo (yes, there was a tooth-plucked Star-Spangled Banner riff) by band member John 5 as well as electro-tinged songs that chugged and churned (Superbeast, Scum of the Earth) with Zombie's snarls to "bury me as a dog / icy hands surrounding me."

Despite the heavy theatrics, it was about showing a softer side, too.

South African alt-metal band Seether had tattooed limbs swaying with its beefed-up cover of 1985's Careless Whisper by Wham!, and it also showcased a radio-ready balance of heart and muscle that ranged from rowdy (Gasoline) to reflective (Fine Again, Broken).

It was also about familiarity. Yesterday's best moments came in fits of nostalgia, thanks to Slash.

The former Guns N' Roses lead guitarist, billed under a singular name but playing with a full band, didn't hesitate to dip into his catalog.

When the curly-haired musician - who hasn't seemed to age, sunglasses, top hat and all - launched into Sweet Child o' Mine, a time and place would have been difficult to pinpoint (Myles Kennedy, a vocalist who fronted the ensemble, sounded remarkably like GNR's Axl Rose).

While listening to Paradise City in a sweaty pit of tattooed, sunburned bodies that were cooled intermittently by not-so-clean water from hurled plastic bottles, the heat and hordes became less icky and instantly more tolerable.

Too bad not all the day's flashbacks were as memorable.

This is from Spin. I am only including the Slash part.

Quote
The 10 Best Moments of Rock on the Range

BEST INDULGENT GUITAR WORSHIP: SLASH

It's not often that an entire band revolves around a guitarist who doesn't sing (going as far as to slap his name across the bass drum's head), but Slash is a worthy exception to the rule. Decked out in top hat, shades, and flowing locks (as if he ever wears anything else), the ex-Guns N' Roses player was undeniably (and justifiably) the star of the set. Supported by Alter Bridge singer Myles Kennedy and a competent trio of instrumentalists, a good portion of the songs came from his recent solo debut. Wherever there was room, he'd be sure to toss in a fret-jumping solo, reeling in extra cheers from a crowd thirsty for his theatrics. Those hoping for GNR nods were sated: "Nightrain" and a thrillingly tight version of "Sweet Child O' Mine" appeared (Kennedy?s voice is a dead ringer for Axl) as well as closer "Paradise City," which even saw Slash hopping around a little bit.

At Rock on the Range, Slash played dirty little thing, ghost, sucker train blues, nightrain, starlight, back from cali, slither, by the sword, sweet child o' mine, and paradise city. I'm not sure if that is the exact order because I had written down the set list in my phone and even had a couple videos, but then I went crowd surfing during the Rob Zombie show and my phone fell out of my pocket and most likely got trampled on the ground or stolen haha.

Slash might be about the best bang for your buck as far as concerts go right now at least with prices like that in the states. His headline set has been expanded to like 18-19 songs now which for that price is pretty damn good.

wonder what he will do for a singer once Myles goes back to AB?

I get the impression that Myles is coming back for more touring at some point next year even after AB releases their album. I could be wrong, but I think they have mentioned something in one of their interviews about finding a way to make that work.

I frankly have no where near the interest level in a Slash show with someone like Franky Perez doing vocals that I do with Myles, so I hope they do find a way for him to come back during/after the AB album for some more touring.

Slash Announces "We're All Gonna Die" U.S. Tour Posted on June 23, 2010

That makes for an awesome show though. He seems very realistic about crowd sizes for the most part, and more than 1500 seats would probably be overkill. Just make sure you get your tickets early if you're going.

SLASH: North American Tour Dates Announced - June 23, 2010

Legendary guitarist Slash (VELVET REVOLVER, ex-GUNS N' ROSES) has announced the following North American tour dates:

Aug. 29 - San Francisco, CA - The Warfield Theater
Aug. 31 - Aspen, CO - Belly Up
Sep. 01 - Denver, CO - Ogden
Sep. 02 - Kansas City, MO - Voodoo Lounge
Sep. 04 - Mount Pleasant, MI - Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort
Sep. 05 - Milwaukee, WI - Pabst Theater
Sep. 06 - Clear Lake, IA - Surf Ballroom
Sep. 08 - Chicago, IL - Riviera Theater
Sep. 09 - Windsor, ON - Caesars Windsors ? The Colosseum
Sep. 10 - Toronto, ON - Kool Haus
Sep. 11 - Belleville, ON - Empire Theater
Sep. 14 - New York, NY - Terminal 5
Sep. 15 - Boston, MA - House of Blues
Sep. 18 - Norfolk, VA - The Norva
Sep. 20 - Atlanta, GA - Center Stage
Sep. 22 - Council Bluffs, IA - Harrah's ? Stir Cove
Sep. 23 - Medina, MN - Medina Entertainment Center
Oct. 02 - Seattle, WA - Showbox at the Market

Slash is incorporating songs from his entire career into his solo tour, including material from GUNS N' ROSES, VELVET REVOLVER, SLASH'S SNAKEPIT and his new solo album. The guitarist told The Pulse of Radio he can do that thanks to ALTER BRIDGE's Myles Kennedy, who's handling lead vocals on the trek. "The tour's gonna be comprised of some GUNS stuff and some VELVET stuff and some SNAKEPIT, and then also songs off the record," Slash said. "He's such an amazing vocalist, so he can cover all that, he can handle all that 'cause he's got a great range. So I'm really excited, 'cause before I talked to him, I was sort of auditioning singers for this tour and I figured I'd get it together, but he's just, he's so perfect."

February supposedly.

You've got to see it as a good sign that they Myles is coming back so soon even with AB releasing a new album because for any reason he was tired of Slash or just wasn't enjoying working with him the AB thing would have been the perfect excuse to call their partnership quits.

I think if anything, AB is gonna call it quits after this album is released and they finish touring it, whenever that will be

I read somewhere that he is really enjoying playing w slash and the material lets him use his full vocal range; though i haven't paid much attention to AB due to the fact of the x-creed members and creed never did anything for me

Todd Kerns (Slash's bassist) is scheduled for surgery:

He says...

Posted on Friday, July 16, 2010

"People of Earth. Greetings.

Everyone is full of questions so I?m here to answer what I can.
I go into surgery Friday for a retinal detachment in my right eye. The recovery time is longer than I would like but the outcome looks good.

I will, unfortunately, be out of commission for the next several weeks so I cannot say what tours or shows I will be a part of until we know how things look down the road. I can say that regardless of when and where I will be back in action as soon as physically possible.

Thanks to everyone for the positivity. It means more than I can express. I will see you soon. I have been playing almost every night for God knows how many years now and the idea of not doing so for a while is a bit unnerving. I plan to make the best of it. There?s always a new song to write.

I will see you all soon enough. Until then support your Sinners and enjoy Slash and friends!

Big love.
Your loyal and humble servant, Todd Dammit"

Slash's next show is scheduled for July 29th in Hong Kong. There's currently no word on who will play bass at that gig.

They may just go with Brent Fitz (the drummer) on bass and his drum tech on drums like they did in Russia. By all accounts they handled it fine with literally zero practice time, so I have to believe with a couple weeks off they can tighten things up a bit. Seems like the easiest thing to do rather than bringing someone in to serve as a placeholder until Todd is back as those guys are already familiar with the material, stage show and everything that goes into it.

Interesting that Slash is picking guys for his live solo band that have auditioned for VR.

Both Todd Kearns (Dammit?) and Tony Montana have auditioned to replace Scott.

Thank-You!!

I take it at the moment that Slash is in South America, so this is to be expected really. And if Perla doesn't like it, maybe she should stay at a distance or at least get some proper security handling the situation.  : ok:

I wouldn't say Oxygen is a pop festival as such but it does suck.  Its just full of scumbags getting hammered drunk and jumping in muck  :hihi:  Would love to see Slash again but im not sure its worth the money if he is just gonna do a short 30 minute set or something with lots of kids chanting guns n roses... or even worse... lots of kids running off to see Avril lavigne or something instead.

Was hoping he'd do Vicar street again myself.

Yeah it would great to see him again. Vicar street last year was a great show. I dont think I'll be paying 100 Euro for a day ticket just to see a 30-40 Minute set either. I dont think he will play another date here , but it would be great if he did. He said they would be touring europe  July/ August/ September, so I guess you never know.

Anyone know if he has plans to do add more dates?

According to StaffsLive, legendary guitarist Slash's (VELVET REVOLVER, ex-GUNS N' ROSES) "homecoming" gig in the Midlands region of England this summer sold out in less than two hours.

Tickets went on sale at 9 a.m. Friday morning (May 6) for the concert on July 24 at the Victoria Hall in Stoke-on-Trent, the town where Slash was raised.

Over 1,500 fans will attend the show, which marks Slash's first-ever concert in his hometown.

Although I've seen GN'R 23 times, I've never seen Slash, so I want to at least see him once. So could anyone post a few setlists from his latest shows, so I can get a feel for how his set may go.

Should be fun, would be cool to meet a few board members there.  :D

I was hoping he would play Jungle, but who knows he might still. But I really want to see his Sweet Child solo, should be awesome to see it live...

And that's another reason why I want to see him on this tour, rather than a VR tour or something. Because he is more likely to play more GN'R songs when it's his own solo show, and I'm more interested in hearing Brownstone, Rocket Queen and Sweet Child rather than Slither or Meanbone.  ;)

saw him live a few mos ago in Charlotte- the key is to arrive very eary & get right in front of SLASH which i did- it was fucking incredible!  Not impressed at all with his band especially Myles the lead singer, He can sing fine & all but he's way too fucking happy- doesn"t have Axl's VENOM for GNR songs but seeing SLASH, my fav guitarist of all time playing some of my favorite GNR songs of all time- at least half were GNR SONGS was fucking incredible! I've seen "Nu GNR" Many times so to see & hear him up close performing these songs was like plugging in the other 1/5 of the equation that was missing ( although i love all NuGnR as well).  He was simplY on fire & did many extended solos- they definitely highlited him as the main event of the night & he didn't dissappoint. I like many of his other solo songs & covers as well so yeah if you have the chance, no brainer- fucking go!- Slash, small club, low price- ez decision : ok:

SLASH IN PARADISE

9th July 2011

GUITAR hero Slash has promised to take Scottish fans to Paradise City when he plays his first T In The Park today.

The mop-haired Guns N? Roses icon may be a festival veteran but has never rocked Balado?s historic airfield.

Slash, 45, told me: ?It?s the first time here.

?Everybody in Scotland is gassed about it and really excited so I know it?s a pretty good festival.?

The LA hero loves playing gigs in the UK because we still embody the true spirit of rock ?n? roll. He explained: ?The last vestige of rock ?n? roll has to be alive and well at UK rock festivals.

?Sometimes you think that rock ?n? roll is dying a miserable death, espec?ially if you listen to the radio.

?But then you go to these festivals and the spirit and energy of the whole thing is overwhelming. It?s the industry killing it, not the public.?

The British-born guitarist joins an astounding line-up that includesColdplay, Arctic Monkeys and Foo Fighters.

Then he embarks on a UK tour this month that takes in his childhood home of Stoke-on-Trent and London?s High Voltage festival.

Despite endless questions about Guns N? Roses and Velvet Revolver, Slash is focused on his solo career.

He revealed: ?I?m recording new material for myself. and I?m working with the band that I?m touring with because they are so hot.

?We?re no nearer to getting a new Velvet Revolver vocalist.?

Glad somebody is keeping rock alive and kicking.

saw him last night here in Paris at le Z?nith. not a big fan of what the guy has done since Guns, but I was invited, VIP zone, so...

the sound was not really good, but it's always the same at le Z?nith so the band is not to blame on that one.
I enjoyed the Guns covers, Patience, Nightrain, Sweet Child, Rocket Queen, Paradise City, Brownstone, and most of all Civil War (if only Guns could play it...)

Slash's solos was, well...sometimes really good on some VR stuff (Slither, By The Sword), sometimes he was just out (or annoying, like on
the Godfather theme which is much toooo loooong) Myles Kennedy can hit the notes and he's a decent singer, but a bit boring to listen to,
and his stage presence is total clich?.

they played two songs for the first time, a Snakepit one (can't remember the name) and another one I don't remember either.

It's a classic hard rock show, very minimalist with no screens and no big lights effects, it was OK (but just that) and I didn't feel any magic.

found the setlist :

Been There Lately
Nightrain
Ghost
Mean Bone
Back From Cali
Rocket Queen
Civil War
Nothing to Say
We?re All Going to Die
Speed Parade
Starlight
Promise
Watch This

Patience
Sweet Child O? Mine
Slither

Bloody car got a puncture yesterday and needed a new tyre this morning. Then an hour ago I realised my camera (which was fully charged yesterday I might add) had a flat battery, so I had to go out to town and buy a new adapter for the charger (seen as I bought it in America and hadn't gotten round to buying a travel converter socket yet).

These things are sent to try us.

But I'm set up and ready again to rock in Manchester tonight with the big man! : ok:

What can I say?, Slash was absolutely awesome... 8)

I got a good spot around the centre of the audience, and when Slash came out to Ghost, everyone went mental, with water bottles in the air and everything.  ;D

He played a nice setlist, similar to the one that's going around. And the GN'R songs rocked, just as well as his other songs like Starlight and Slither. I was really surprised at how well recieved Slither was, the crowd was really going mental at that one. :o

And then Sweet Child came, and again it rocked, as did Paradise City....

I really wish I could have gone to Manchester too, but I was late getting the Brum tickets, and I also payed over double the amount for them off getmein.com.

But YES, it was worth every penny, and it has actually changed my view on Slash alot. I can see his energy and passion, and he was talking to the crowd all the time. During Paradise City, as Myles sang the chorus, Slash was singing his version to the crowd with his mouth, "Where the girls are fat, and got big titties", loved that. ;D

Robin Finck remains my favourite guitarist of all time, but Slash has gone up my list of GN'R guitarists alot. And let's just say a "current" member of GN'R is not even a patch on Slash and Robin, I won't name names, but you guys know already.... :P

Not going to beat a dead horse, but seeing Slash last night made me sad about the current state of GN'R, especially with Robin not being in the band no more.........

Thank you Slash, you rocked Birmingham........

"You guys have been the perfect audience, thank you" - Slash, Birmingham 20th July
