Show was immense, got there late but still managed to get a better spot that in Rotterdam. The audience was MUCH more calmer and chilled out than the Dutch show. During the show, the crowd slowly got closer and closer to the front. Highlights for me was Shacklers, Better and November Rain. Saw Derby Greg and Babydolls, outside the venue after and they loved the show just as much as me. I would like to thank GN'R for all the fun times I've had during the last 6 years, it's been a blast!!!... My 30th show :).  One.In.A.Million over N' out.

That's fucked up

Here's a Google translation - despite popular opinion, I don't speak French...

Quote
Axl Rose, lead singer of famous American rock band Guns N'Roses, last night was the victim of a theft of jewelry boxes in the Bercy Sports Centre (IBDP), in Paris, it was learned Wednesday.

It was unclear precisely the circumstances of the theft was apparently perpetrated during a private concert given by the star after his concert at the IBDP in the presence of a hundred people preferred. This flight has angered the singer, said the source, requiring police intervention in her box.

There are three gold necklaces and diamond. The damage is estimated, according to the source, at $ 200,000 but "remains to be seen" and an investigation was initiated on the alleged theft.

Talented composer and concert beast, the American singer Axl Rose is the only original member of Guns N 'Roses, one of the most notable of rock history.

Thieves stole gold necklaces and diamonds worth around 200,000 dollars (160,000 euros) from Guns N'Roses frontman Axl Rose as the singer gave a private concert in Paris, a police source said Wednesday.

The theft late Tuesday enraged the 50-year-old singer from the US supergroup and police were called in to calm the situation, the source said.

Rose held his private gig, attended by around 100 people, after a public performance at Bercy stadium.

The singer is the only remaining member of the original line-up of the rock band that was formed in Los Angeles in 1985 and whose best known songs include November Rain, Patience, and Sweet Child o' Mine.

I know, this information came from the French media (I'm French, lives in Paris and was at the show last night). ;) But this information (about the private gig) is wrong. I don't know about the robbery.

Maybe Jarmo can confirm what I say about the private gig later on.

It will be one of the f@#kin models again, just like the ones who stole his shoes at manchester. They get pissed up, and all excited as they're backstage they are not true fans so just grab something of Axl's because they had the opportunity whilst he is in the shower or something. Cunts.

Hope the chains were insured.

Yes an article said she is a model who took the jewelry but she didn't know how or why she did it... Being drunk is certainly no excuse, if you can't handle alcohol, then just don't drink.

I'm glad Axl got his stuff back.

Well not that the missing items have been found, I feel I can comment on what I thought were pretty damn funny parts of the original translated article:

Axl Rose, lead singer of famous American rock band Guns N'Roses, last night was the victim of a theft of jewelry boxes in the Bercy Sports Centre (IBDP), in Paris, it was learned Wednesday. It was unclear precisely the circumstances of the theft was apparently perpetrated during a private concert given by the star after his concert at the IBDP in the presence of a hundred people preferred. This flight has angered the singer, said the source, requiring police intervention in her box. These three necklaces in gold and diamonds. The damage is estimated, according to the source, at $ 200,000 but "remains to be seen" and an investigation was initiated on the alleged theft.  talented composer and concert beast, the American singer Axl Rose is the only original member of Guns N 'Roses, one of the most notable of rock history.

Hilarious!

Its in the previous page but in French. Many other French media talked about it. The police have the jewels and should give them back to Axl soon.

There was no private show. I think people got confused because there might have been a private gathering after the show, during which the jewelry were stolen.

Thank God they found the jewelry.

Such a lame ass thing to do. You're invited as somebody's guest to their second home (dressing rooms, hotel room and/or tour bus etc.) and this is what you do? It's no different than visiting somebody's house and stealing from there. Just because it's an arena doesn't make it less of a violation!

Yes it was so stupid... I'm glad that lady had the courage at least to go to the police and give it back.

Cool to see you Jarmo last night, hope to see you a bit longer next time! :)

Agreed 100%. It's a privilege to be able to be invited such places and one person goes off and takes Axl's stuff... really? As if they didn't think they would get caught.

Bet they were hearing Out Ta Get Me the whole time they were stealing it! : ok:

Seriously how dumb do you have to be to do something like that? Chances are this is going to happen to her ONCE IN A LIFETIME and she screws it up and causes unneccesary problems to the band.

Good thing all ended well, hope it doesn't effect the next show or the remainder of the tour.

I hope to God that this is not one of the younger models that have been invited to recent GN'R concerts.

If so, then it is disgusting, to be honest.

It does seem to me fairly obvious- you invite people to wander around backstage who aren't actually fans and are total strangers- isn't that a pretty daft idea? I wouldn't throw a house party and invite complete strangers in from the street to wander around and have a look around my house! It's asking for trouble really.

I hate to say it but this reminds me of something that would happen to a rapper.

Exactly.

Happy the jewelry was found and returned. I absolutely despise thieves. $200,000 worth of jewelry though? That rich 1% strike again.  :hihi:

Doesn't matter if it's worth $2 or $200,000 ... horrible horrible feeling having your stuff stolen, especially something as personal as your jewelry.

I'm glad he got his stuff back.

unlike allwaystired, I hope this doesn't sour them on having these parties.  take extra precautions now, for sure, but ... as donny osmond so eloquently put it ... don't let one bad apple spoil the whole bunch.

The fan or model/not-a-fan issue isn't relevant. Being a fan doesn't preclude you from being a thief.

You must live in the illusion that everybody who gets a pass is a close friend or family to the band.

Also, I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter if you're a fan or not. If you have some kind of morals, you would know better than to grab somebody else's shit just because you can.

Yeah, true- a thief is a thief and that's the end of it. I think by the 'not being a fan comment' I meant more along the 'lack of respect' lines.

I've been backstage at many shows, including arenas, and there always seems to be freeloaders and people out for themselves- just doesn't seem wise to be actively encouraging that really, from a security point of view. Looks like they've learnt the hard way with this theft though, sadly

I've been travelling home to the UK for the better part of today. And just logged on to my iPhone, and hear this horrible news. I'm sure it was a genuine mistake, but saying that how can you take Axl's jewellery by mistake.... No she knew she was on the back burner and gave it up. It's really sad really, she's given an opportunity that real fans would die for and she does this?... Disgraceful. On a different note I'm still buzzing from my Rotterdam and Paris shows, what a trip and I can't wait to see this band again......PS Ron OWNS Estranged. Haha

cheap nasty behaviour... I was commenting to greg on axl's fine crosses at the gig actually - got a surpise reading all of this following the gig..  What a way to abuse the priviledge of being asked there as a guest.  V glad to hear the items were returned.
Aside from that, it was another great gig - the crowd were really going for it around us , esp in paradise city, great to see. Also the solo's went down a treat.  Tommy seemed to be having a complete riot at this show, having to lean on dj's shoulder with laughter at one point!
don't cry and shackler's sounded particularly great.  Had a really great time

I think Civil War is becoming a live fan favourite, in Rotterdam and Paris it went down a storm. I love the way Ron does the solo, and how DJ handles the wah wah parts....and the way Richard does the outro solo is immense.

Also has anyone else noticed that during Civil War, the video screens play a Chinese Democracy themed video. It shows rows and rows of animated tanks approaching the screen, with Chinese symbols and lettering around them.......REALLY LOVE IT.  :)

AXL ROSE Says Woman Who Stole His Jewels Was 'Just An Excited Fan' - June 7, 2012

GUNS N' ROSES lead singer Axl Rose got his jewelry back after the woman who stole them returned the items to a police station in central Paris, France.

Rose was robbed of three gold-and-diamond necklaces worth $200,000 after the band performed in Paris on Tuesday night (June 5).

The robbery took place during a private party for the group in an area guarded by Rose's personal security team, where only members of the singer's entourage and invited guests were allowed. Rose was not wearing the three gold and diamond necklaces at the time of their disappearance and was said to be "furious" about the incident.

The next day (Wednesday, June 6), a young woman was taken into police custody after admitting that she took the necklaces.

The woman, a model whose identity was not revealed, told police that she had too much to drink and inadvertently put Rose's necklaces in her handbag, realizing her mistake only after waking up at lunchtime.

Writing on his Twitter account, Rose said, "Got my things back (really just an excited fan.) Thank you to the person for returning them n' big thanks 2 the Paris police."

A class act, and possibly on hearing of the events surrounding the incident, probably something he's done under the influence...  Was addressed pretty quickly by the other side which helped no doubt.  I'm curious into the value however, was that the purchase price, if so, being bought some time back (if this is the same as he wears on stage) will be worth somewhat more as there's been a shift upwards in the price of precious metals and stones as economies are flat-lining.

It would be my guess that items of that value are likely to be regularly appraised, if only for insurance purposes!

Have you guys noticed how mean spirited the press seems to be in Great Britian. I was reading a story about one of the shows over there and there was a video full of 20 something hipsters going off on all this negative stuff about the band being late and blah blah. I just think, it?s Guns N? Roses, they?re not gonna play at 7 and wrap it up by 9:30.  And I think it was only an hour ?late.? I don?t know, kinda made me mad. People going to these things should understand they?re in for a late night.

I swear I think there is a certain number of people (mostly younger 15-23) in every city and country that just go to whatever show happens to be in town or whatever their friends go to. I have been to concerts here in the States and see these people. Most of them are just there for the scene and couldn't be more disinterested in the band playing.

Have you guys noticed how mean spirited the press seems to be in Great Britian.

The press here are awful, to be honest.

It is because we have a certain way of living. Concerts here end at 10.00 to 11.00pm, and we, generally, hate people being late, in the same way that we do not like people who queue jump.

I know through speaking to alot of old school friends who liked GN'R back in the day that they find Axl dis-respectful towards our way of living, and I think it is this that causes the bad press here. As you mentioned, we were once Great Britain and I think the pomp and stubborness that went with that still remains with alot of people who live here.

Amen to that.  This namby pamby country with its elf and safety, Guardian reading moaners have infested this country of ours, metro-sexual men (wtf) with their man-bags and their skinny bloody lattes. Obsessed with celeb's, big brother and TOWIE (whatever that is) and kids who sit on their arses, playing with their Xboxes (the fat little fuckers are brilliant at fifa 12, but absolutely shit in real life) not allowed to go out incase a peado get 'em, cooking programmes galory, yet see people with batter mix (just add milk ) in their baskets. This country has gone soft, its gone hopeless, its gone "were entitled" yet have done fuck all to "earn" a fucking right to anything. We were once governed by kings when were a kingdom, now were are just a country, well go figure whose in charge these days.

The women aren't any better, nail bars, shoes, shoes and more bloody shoes, must have chocolate too, kidding themselves that its better than sex and that it doesn't make "them fat" other girls yes, but not them....

This country has gone soft, it has lost its mojo, it can't work things out without using google and even then it get things wrong because they are too thick to work out what the blood question is... That's better, can sleep now thats off my chest.

Amen to that, Wightgunner!

Mysteron, Slashbaconpit,

I know what you mean about the press here in GB being mean spirited. We are famous for having the most  trashy tabloid press in the world, and it was really pioneered by Murdoch after he bought the Sun back in 1969. Now, the mean, intrusive, snarky, sensationalist  style of reportage seems to be the norm, to the extent where something like the 'National Enquirer' would be viewed as mild here.

So why should matter if some journalists want to stir up shit for a living? Well, it seems that a tabloid style attitude has infected the man in the street here, who reads this shit and becomes mean spirited too. Witness, for example, the kind of comments that greeted this story on the message boards of the Daily Mail and NME. Whereas any normal, compassionate human being might think something like 'oh, how terrible. Hope the thief gets caught and he gets his jewellery back', the shining wits of the UK could only contribute such pearls of wisdom like 'Ha Ha Ha, serves him right' or 'OMG, he is well fat lol'. OK, I know people from outside the UK make those kind of comments too, especially on the internet. But I also think that us brits exported this kind of shit to the world. I also think this kind of attitude has helped our country go soft in the ways that wightgunner has described.

Okay, that's enough of me bashing my country. I'm glad that you Pairsiennes got to expereince such a great show!
