He's a famous photographer.  Has been shooting bands since the 70's.  They used his pic, so he gets a CD.  Makes since to me.  Check the rest of his site, he has probably taken photos of lots of bands you like

The tracklisting may be far from perfect but the art works spot on.

''Got a copy of new Guns'n' Roses Greatest Hits cd. My photo from the very first session I did with them is on the cover''

What the fuck? Who is this guy? He worked with GNR? His photo isn't on the cover.......does he think he's Steven Adler???

Izzy, are you talking about Ross Halfin?  He's very famous - taken photos of loads of famous bands.

Jarmo posted a Ross Halfin's GNR pics thread not too long ago.  It's probably somewhere on like Pg 23 of this board cuz of all the rumor threads.

There was also a pic not too long ago of Slash, Ross Halfin, and I think Jimmy Page at some benefit or the other.

You get more annoying and oblivious with each post...

Ross Halfin is a photographer who has worked with Guns N' Roses, and a photograph from his first session with the band is featured on the back cover to Greatest Hits.  A terribly difficult concept to comprehend, isnt it?  He even put the original photo next to the CD cover to drive the point home.  So perhaps you should try giving more than a half-a-second of thought before you make your pointless, smart-ass comments and end up looking like a fool.

At risk of sounding like a whinger.. thats not one of my fave GNR pics.. I hate that jacket Axl's wearing! The pics still cool.. 5 of the coolest rockers ever  Smiley

I would have liked the artwork to come across a bit more aggressive, bit more like this is the best of the most dangerous band in the world.

Just my opinion, don't shoot me  peace

Haha, yeah it makes sense to put pictures of guys who have absolutely nothing with any of those songs on the cover...Its gay to credit to the guys who actually made the CD possible.

Im guessing your no older than 15, so I forgive your remarks.

Dont be so mean!  It's an honest mistake if you didnt know Ross Halfin was a photographer.

Yeah, not knowing Ross Halfin is fine.  Commenting about him like a smart-ass know-it-all and simultaneously disrespecting an original member, even though he admittedly doesnt know what hes talking about, thats just obnoxious.

You dont know who Ross Halfin is, either check up on it or ask, but stupid disrespectful comments arent necessary.

Get back on topic, now.  Tongue

Wonder if this will be the first GN'R release without Robert John's photos in it.

go get fucked asshole...that was what i wanted not you... The old band is old news and seeing these pics and hearing the old songs sucks now.

This CD would have been 10000000 times better if the New GnR had played these songs. They play them way better anyways.

Who wants to see old pics of the old band anyways? Thats not what GnR anymore.

Interesting that they put a picture of the original lineup even though they were only together for like 4 of the 14 songs on the album. I mean, it's my favorite lineup and I'm really happy to have that photo representing the band, but it does sort of ignore Matt Sorum, who supposedly saved the band in 1990.

Well, I can tell you it's gonna be a 6-panel digipack, so I presume any liner-notes/pictures will be contained on the faces rather than a seperate booklet.

I'm not too angry over this album, but I really wish they would give some respect for the new band by calling it something like Greatest Hits: 1987-1995. Then again, they'll prob be a "proper" Axl-authorised GH album down the line anyway with most of these songs Tongue
