Guitar legend. Simple as that

« on: April 18, 2004, 11:00:11 AM »

In this months Classic Rock, Guns N Roses are on the cover and there is a whole (KFC) bucket load of stuff about them in the magazine.

The cover says Guns N Roses: The Band That Refuses To Die. There is a picture of Axl on the front.

Inside the magazine, there is an article in the news section called Axl Loses His 'Head and the article is about Buckethead leaving the band (surprisingly). It also mentions that Axl is supposed to take over on guitar himself. Also it says about the VR record being pushed back to 8 June.

The major piece is an interview from 1992 with Axl. He talks about his childhood, Izzy quitting and about showing up on time for a show.

Another article is a general piece about the band and there is a review of the GH CD in the reviews section (it got 3 out of 5 stars)

All in all, a whole lot of stuff about the band, alot of it is negative though. A lot of stuff is how great AFD was and how the UYI albums weren't very good.

Its the best feature about the band that i have read, much better than that crappy Kerrang feature. The one they had about the Leeds gig in 2002 was cool, mainly cos i was there but this one is more in depth.

There are loadsa great Duff pics, the guy just oozes cool,  Cool there is a great pic of Slash, Duff and Axl live on stage in the early days at the start of the article, it is a really great pic.

Definitely worth getting!

I bought this yesterday cool cover and nice amount of GNR through-out (also features the Buckethead news in the news section).

It's kind of a rehash of stuff they have printed before though, but hey it's presented well so it's cool.

There's also GNR in Q mag - don't know if it's been mentioned.

You can feel it when reading articles though they hate the fact GN'R won't go away lol
Did you notice how they highlighted (in classic rock)  where Axl says GN'R may only make one good album- Appetite.

There's always a period where people come around to certain albums and one day people will see and understand  the genius  behind UYI's. And we will be like well yeh d'uh!

I just added the second article from that magazine to the site.

The first one is the Rolling Stone interview from 1992, which also is available in the articles section.
