1 - You need a place to host the picture, for example
http://www.photobucket.com/
or
http://www.imageshack.us/
2 - The avatar cannot be bigger than 70 x 70 pixels. You might have to resize it.

Your avatar can't be bigger than 70 x 70.
For some reason the board isn't resizing the bigger avatars like it should.

That pic will look like shit if you resize it to 70 x 70 (or less).
On photobucket, they don't let you specify the altered size, am i right? You can only make it smaller by 3/4, 1/2 sized and the like...

Take your picture and resize it with any photo program you might have, save it as a jpeg. Then open an account with Photobucket.com and upload it from your computer. You'll have three options for your pic, [IMG], http, and img src. Copy and paste the http// link to the chose your own pic here at HTGTH.
