Launch Radio Networks is reporting that QUEEN guitarist Brian May says he's growing more "excited" about the upcoming tour with FREE/BAD COMPANY vocalist Paul Rodgers as its start date draws closer. May told Britain's Uncut magazine, "As the tour approaches, it feels like my whole body and soul have been tipped upside down. It's now dawning on me that this huge ball is about to roll again. It's slightly more exciting than scary though." May also rejected criticisms leveled against him and drummer Roger Taylor for touring under the QUEEN moniker without the late Freddie Mercury or retired bassist John Deacon. "Almost my entire life has been lived amid a hail of bullets," he said. "As far as I'm concerned, it's nobody's business but ours. If you think you're gonna hate it, don't come."

The tour is billed as "QUEEN and Paul Rodgers."

The group will play their first show at Nelson Mandela's 46664 AIDS Awareness Concert on March 19 in South Africa. The tour starts in earnest on March 28 in London, England, and is expected to play in North America later this year.

"As far as I'm concerned, it's nobody's business but ours. If you think you're gonna hate it, don't come." Brian May

It's sad when a big star say this comentaries, people makes criticisms just to realize that is not for Him but for certain band called Queen without Freddie and John instead of talking BS he should think more in the fans than in himself.

That doesn't really make sense. And once again I say, it isn't your band. What Brian said is right, You don't like it? Then don't come. The venues are selling out/sold out already anyways.

The more I see, the more I respect Page & Plant. They knew they probably wouldn't sell as many albums and tickets, but they never called their thing Led Zeppelin. Respect, guys.

100% agree with you. and thats the way i've always thought  , you know i also respect the  The ex Beatles as Ringo George and Paul when they were alive, well at least when george wasnt dead , they did respect that. and come on! The Beatles would sell out more than queen or any band......everywhere ,even in Mars!

And someone said roger and Brian have made a lot of money ,of course they have! but the more you got , the more you want! ......so English musicians AREN'T as "respectful or stuck to their roots" as some people says.  no

Yes, but they are the guitarist and frontman and the two main songwriters. Not a guitarist and a drummer.

Funny the twisted parallels between GNR & Queen.

Remaining members of Queen get new singer, call themselves Queen.
Remaining Members of GNR get new singer, call themselves Velvet Revolver
Remaining singer of GNR gets new band, calls themselves GNR.

There is something mising without Freddie, but I`d still jump at the chance to hear Brian May play.  So if they call temselves Queen, so what? Good for them, I hope they pull it off.

I got a dvd of one of the shows on the tour and its pretty fuckin awsome..Definetly worth checking out..Brian and Rodger sing jsut as many songs and Paul does..Rodger sings Radio-Ga-Ga and a few others..Show opens with Tie Your mother Down..and Freddie sings the first half of Bohemian Rhapsody on the big screen from the live bowl..Then during the middle its like a tribute to him then at the end they all sing together its pretty cool..And they play Alrigth now by pauls old band Free..Good show

Why isnt he part of Queen anyway?

Mr Deacon is using his multi-millions to fund his (very) early retirement, and good on him too. Besides, he was never really one to bask in the limelight, and doesn't approve of a Queen without Freddie Mercury. (Interestingly, of he handful of post-Freddie Queen projects he has partaken in, all have been 'tributes' of sort, e.g the 'Made in Heaven' album, the 1992 Wembley tribute concert).

As for the current tour, I'm dissapointed that the setlists have been very similar night after night, especially after Roger Taylor promised  'rolling setlists'. Still, I am literally bursting with excitement in anticipation of tuesday's gig in Newcastle (just at the prospect of seeing Brian and his home made guitar).
