Use Your Illusion

« on: June 15, 2005, 10:31:15 AM »

I have an epiphone LP, and yesterday, i broke the high E string and immediately after my truss rod became very loose out of nowhere. i'm worried it might be defective as this is not the first time ive had this problem. My last epi lp had a defective truss rod and i traded it for this one, about 2-3 months ago. I'm taking it back to the shop today and hoping it's just loose, since i have no idea how to fix it and be sure it's still ok myself. if it actually is defective like my last one, i really don't think i want another epiphone. is it worth it to buy the next level up? what would be the difference between the epi lp and whatever's next (gibson?) if i were going to get a new one it'd be in the $1,000-2000 range, any advice? thanks
