Here are my 59 Reissues with my new Splawn Quick Rod. After trying a bunch of JCM 800's and JCM 2000's I went with the Splawn since it sounded better than all the Marshalls I tried, is made with better parts and was more versatile. It has a nice clean channel, kinda Plexi before it breaks up and has the best Marshall sounding over drive I've heard in any amp. It's got three modes to get Plexi, Hot Rodded JCM 800 and Super Hot Rodded JCM 800 tones. It can easily get AC/DC, early Van Halen, AFD era Slash and Alice In Chains tones.

You can see more Splawn amps and hear clips here:

Wow, man! Are splawn amps better than Bogner?

I like the Splawn Quick Rod better than the Bogner Shiva. I was going to get another Shiva head, but I kept thinking that the overdrive channel was a little too refined. I wanted something that delivered a more raw searing Marshall tone. The Splawn delivers the goods. It even sounds good at practice levels, which I've never been able to get from a 50 or 100w tube amp. They usually need to be a band rehearsal levels to sound any good.

Scott Splawn is a small builder in North Carolina. He only makes about 15 amps a month. You can go directly through him, though the wait is about 2+ months at this point. I bought mine through Rock Solid Amps because he had a bunch of Splawns on order and it only took three weeks to get mine.

The legendary guitarist said that he does have some contact with Guns n' Roses singer Axl Rose, however.

"I've actually sent him Christmas cards, just to be cordial, but he never returns anything."

Expensive..

It's defiantley better than the danelectro wah I had before it. I'm not a lead guitarist per say, usually stick to rhythm but do some lead work here and there. so I can't do the things that a true lead guitarist could get out of it.

Hey guys, my name's Matt Warfront. I'm new here (this is only my second post) so I figured I would introduce myself. This was an awesome idea for a topic so I couldn't help but comment..here's my two cents:

-2005 B.C. Rich NJ Classic Series Mockingbird (Alnico II Pro pickups)

-1994 B.C. Rich Neck Thru Floyd Rose Mockingbird (looks exactly like Slash's but with a Dimarzio Tone Zone in the bridge position and a Dimarzio Super 2 in the neck)

-Gibson Flying V faded cherry (with Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates pickups)

-50th Anniversary Fender American Strat

-Epiphone Standard Les Paul (Dimebucker pickups)

-Epiphone Hummingbird Acoustic

Amp: Marshall MG 250 DMX

Effects: Digitech Metal Master Distortion, Danelectro Cool Cat Chorus, Dunlop 535Q Wha, and a Line 6 PODxt Live

Nice meeting all of you, take care!

I just plug a Custom Shop Gibson Les Paul Classic, custom color (cinnamon burst) into a marshall half stack.

For personal recording I also use an ibanez RG 470DX (some japanese limited edition) and a pod xt live.

This is me Tongue
