A list that's not only completely worthless, but actually decent! 

Michael Angelo was the infamous guitarist of Nitro. The band also featured the world's highest male singer, Jim Gillette, who could shatter glass with his voice. Most of their songs were worthless, but many of them were so hilariously bad they were good! I posted a video of theirs a while ago.

When it comes to talent combined with speed, I believe Yngwie is the best of that bunch.

Michael Angelo was the guitarist in Nitro, right?  You know, I'm a fan of hair metal, but I heard that band and they absolutely sucked.  The only good part at ALL was Angelo's guitar playing.  The guy's speed is blinding even compared to Malmsteem.

Still, when all is said and done, while the shredders listed can play fast, what's much more important is how well they can write songs and fit their guitar solos in there.  That's why people know Eddie Van Halen and Randy Rhoads, and not Michael Angelo and Chris Impelliteri (who I've never heard of).

Michael Angelo is just unreal - i'd probably have him no.1, picked up some of his stuff a while back - its actually pretty decent music too

Malmsteen is for my money the person that brings guitar playing into disrepute - his work really is mindless guitar wanking

How about Vernon Reid from Living Colour? Im not a big fan of theirs, but he does some insane shit on 'Cult of Personality'. Many years ago, Slash made a comment about it. He said that could only be done like that in the studio. It could never be duplicated live. Ive never seen Living Colour live, and I've never seen anyone do a cover of that song. So I dont know if thats true or not.
