weird. no release date either. So does that mean all the people that pre order CD are now going to get Welcome to the Jungle [not that i really belive there is Hits 2 Album called Welcome to the Jungle]

and when i did search for "guns n roses chinese democracy" the first result was guns n roses welcome to the jungle... prolly the same that WAS chinese democracy before... does that mean it still has some trace of CD in its information file whatever? something like that?

That quote about the two versions is a few weeks old, but that doesn't explain why right now there are two versions of "Welcome to the Jungle" at different prices. B000CCBC6W is 16.99 and B000CCBC6M is 21.49. There shouldn't be a $4.50 difference between an edited and an un-edited version.

Think about it Geffen/Sanctuary(Axl) are trying to get CD thru all of the pre sale processes without being pirated, then amazon blows their cover. They are going to do everything in their power to throw up a cloud of confussion to re-cover their tracks. I don't think the album was ever slated for release in the next few months.... I just think this was a way to get Chinese Democracy into the hands of 3rd Party companies for completion, and still protect the music from piracy.

they are two completely independent companies.  geffen is releasing WTTJ because CD never came through...  If CD ever comes out it will be on sanctuary and not geffen.

oh, didn't know that (do you have a web ref to that?).  is the sanctuary deal just for publishing?  Last I heard axl had moved from geffen/universal to sanctuary and CD would come out on sanctuary (thus the GH1 and GH2).

I don't have a web link handy, but I'm pretty sure that's been declared officially.  Sanctuary is the management organization, not the label.

Not exactly sure how the publishing deal fits into everything, though, to be honest.

Santuary is GnR management. they still have a record contract with Geffen/Interscope. Sanct has 2 distinct divisions. Artist management and record label

Mate, there have been so many bogus bulls flying around GNR to confuse us, I tell ya.
Apparently the management preferred that the uni people should change their mind so that they could avoid the suit.
More importantly, Sanctuary stated it as follows, on 26 January 2005

"The deal covers both future material and catalogue. Rose's contribution to such hits as "Sweet Child O' Mine," "Paradise City" and "November Rain" are covered under the deal, as are dozens of new tracks Rose has recently recorded for Universal Music."
