Don't expect any new material at the upcoming shows though. I don't think we're going to hear anything new until we hear the first single on the net/radio. If he played more new songs there really wouldn't be anything to wait for. I want to hear new shit for the first time ON THE ALBUM anyway.

One thing tough, he'll need to have the album out by the US tour. No album, that same set list = 2002 disaster all over again. The nostalgia and curiosity factor was lost on that tour. This band needs an album and new fans to make an American tour a success.

should have played Chinese Democracy, but it is a festival, and the festival shows is not that long. anyway! Great show! Everyone was Awsome! And Axl sounded great! sometimes poor sound quality on the streamer, but thats ok... the picture was great!

I don't understand something:

Ive been bitching about Axl & the new GNR over the last 5 years when all of a sudden I see them at Hammerstein Ballroom 5.14 and they're to me at least 10-15x better than they have been since Slash left. Yet I see a lot of bitching now than Ive ever seen before.

You're entitled to your opnions - I fucking hate when people tell me Im full of shit when I know what to expect from a musical product like GNR. I still think Axl's great so far, though he certainly is even better on a smaller stage than in a big arena. But he's fucking great again. The verdict is still out on the new music, but I thought IRS was pretty sikk tonite and Axl's vocals, though inconsistent on my stream, sounded 110% on that song. I've seen dozens of GNR shows, and Axl looks to me in the best on stage form since early UYI 1991 era.
I'm gonna buy the Hammerstein DVD from 5.17 though, it seems to be the best show they're done so far

I thought the band kicked ass. Axl still sounded awesome, although not as good as NYC.

Biggest prob here was the piss poor setlist, it was too loaded with old stuff, and was too short.

Whoever mixed this sound is almost as much of a loser as certain people in this thread who critique and over-analyze every single note Axl sings. Seriously, some people need to get a life.

this band is just phenomenal, the chemistry, the happnies, you can tell they like each other and tht they're a REAL BAND!

i loved axl how he came on stage with a wine or whatever bottle, that was so fuckin cool, and finck with his glasses was even cooler, i love this guy.. he rocks my face off

Well, not one of the best gnr shows certainly. Axl sounded so much better in Madrid. He looked tired in a couple of song (scom was terrible...), started early in patience, the band fucked up pc......

I'll buy ANYTHING Axl does, but this show was sub par. And as happened earlier this week, way too many solos. Solos do not fire up the crowd, they bore them.

Some changes should be made for the following shows:

.- Less solos, a lot less solos indeed.
.- Play don't cry and ?maybe civil war, yesterdays (very appropiate )
.- Fire Mr. Pittman. What the hell does he do?

It's just a constructive critic. My respect for Axl is enormous, but tonight wasn't the night.

Yeah, that and Axl remembering how to sing It's So Easy properly and then we've got some great UK dates to look forward to.

Does anybody remember that the band play what they want, how they want. If you don't like it, don't bother listening anymore and leave the rest of us to hear talented musicians express themselves and enjoy themselves.

That finck/fortus 'beautiful' solo was awesome.

And for anyone who cares, I thought both NR solos were fantastic - it's called expressing yourself and playing them in your own way.

Why the hell can't people just fuckin enjoy the music?

I was surprised (happily) to hear Axl use his low growling voice for some of the songs. ?I don't think he used that voice at the Hammerstein shows. ?

The mix was horrible, but the band sounded AWESOME!!! ?I liked the "Why isn't Axl ranting" ? ?Yeah, he knows the boards ?

I also think they have to cut the breaks in the set; the darkness and the silence takes away the energy.
I think OTGM, YCBM and Nightrain was awesome, and of course that Aguilera thing; marvellous!

Unfortunately, this was not a very good show..

Axl seemed a bit tired, weak vocals at times. From the clips Ive heard/seen, his voice lacked the punch it had in Madrid, just compare KOHD at the two shows..

Also, he seemed constantly out of breath...the ending of Patience after that sprint was painfull to watch!

Some hightlights, WTTJ..bad ass with that bottle in hand, NR ok, not to many highlights overall.

Crowd appeared to lack enthusiasm..and that horrible sound mix...

all in all, a little disappointing to me..unfortunately..
