Dont know if its been discussed earlier in the thread but  i was wondering whether the the free single that comes via pre-ordering the albums counts as a single sale as well. So what i mean is will a album pre-order count on the singles chart as well?

Hmm, I think that you are still charged 99 cents in the US for downloading the track.  I don't think it's truly "free".  I think what happens is that you buy the title track now with the pre-order, and then you get the rest of the album at a reduced cost when it is released using their "complete my album" function.

Anyone know if the same applies if you get the single from Napster?  I would imagine so.  I tried to install iTunes on my cpu yesterday, but didn't have much success, so I'm thinking of giving Napster a try.

Yup, I just got an e-mail saying I was charged $0.99 for the single.  Hence, it is a sale and will reflect in the next Billboard Mainstream Rock Chart.
