Why doesn't he just pre-order the damn CD?

that would be too easy....?  hihi

EDIT: I'm not a club-going type. Is there a certain socially accepted dress code at these events, or is it cool for some raggy looking 21 year old metalhead to show up wearing his big boots, jeans, hoodie and leather Appetite For Destruction jacket? Embarrassed

Thanks 2 those who went 2 Mustang Harry's on May 12th. That made my first concert experience something I'll never forget. Never did I feel like I fit in anywhere as much as I did amongst you strangers

I can't imagine there is a dress code for a CD listening party.  I expect most will be dressed like you!

I've never been to one, but I would suspect that GNR Concert apparel would be appropriate. I know I'll be wearing any number of things I bought from the merch counter the last 2 times I saw them.

I hope a band member or two show up at the Boston event... after all Boston plays lots of GNR during our sporting events (Patriots, Celtics) and WAAF played Chinese Democracy the day it was released more than any other station in the country

Well the biggest difference is the listening parties are PRE-release.  This one is obviously AFTER the release.  A party is a party though, and anytime is a good time to listen to Chinese Democracy.  So, rock on!

Thanks!  hoping i can convince my brother to go with me.  he saw GNR with me in 2006.  Think this will be pretty cool.  Venue is pretty small.  Think i read it holds 4-500 ppl.  Plus its Vegas, so I'm hoping other band members may show up...

102.1 The Edge in Toronto had a survey to see if they should be playing GN'R and the final results are in the link below.  It looks like they are having a GN'R weekend and a listening party at the Sound Academy (at The Docks) on Friday.  Chinese Democracy is also up to #11 on the "Thursday 30".

http://www.edge.ca/Blogs/Feedback/BlogEntry.aspx?BlogEntryID=10011679

The edge presents a "Guns n' Roses" Weekend starting the on the 21st. We'll be giving away copies of Chinese Democracy on the air Friday, Saturday and Sunday, along with Martin Streek hosting an exclusive "Chinese Democracy" listening party from the Sound Academy during Friday Night Live. They'll play back the album on site in it's entirety and give away CD vouchers. E-mail Martin@edge.ca to get on the guest list.

Damn!  I've got Raptors tickets on Friday and the listening party starts at 7, here's some more details, I bet that "road story from EAGLES OF DEATH METAL" should be pretty interesting.   hihi

FRIDAY NOVEMBER 21st: For all you GNR fans and those that are GNR curious...we've got the first OFFICIAL "Chinese Democracy" album listening party at Sound Academy. We'll be playing through the whole album from 7p-8p inside the club (not on air) and dishing out free GNR swag including vouchers for the new album, which hits stores the following Sunday! Want in on this exclusive listening party? Email MARTIN@EDGE.CA and ask nicely. PS He likes chocolate. For those of you at home tonight, stay tuned for an acoustic performance with TOM MORELLO, a GNR road story from EAGLES OF DEATH METAL, and more!
