I just listened about 5 times and he doesn't have an "S" sound on it though

which is why I think its What I Would Do

Ask yourself What I would Do, to Prostitute myself

I don't think he is talking about "Himself" hence the Ask yourself  and then the question "What I would Do"

So Its like What are some things I'd do, not AXL but I

I've always heard Why I Would Choose.

And that's what it says in the liner notes and in Rock Band.

I think it's "why I would choose" too. There's definitely a "ch" at the beginning of the word, but the "s" at the end is hard to make out/buried in the mix/whatever.

Unless he's saying "why I would chew"....

Why don't you read the lyrics in the Rock Band version of CD? I guess it's the official lyrics.  Lips Sealed nervous Tongue

Sorry... but have to bring this thread back up...

Kind of a delayed reaction of sorts (although I always thought "Prostitute" was good)... but WOW... what a fucking song. Absolutely amazing. This ONE song justifies the 15 year wait IMHO and I'd gladly wait another 15 years for another one of its quality.

I'm throwing the gauntlet down here... but I think it's Axl's best work... EVER. Right there with "Estranged" (my previous choice)- but slightly ahead IMHO b/c it's more "succinct". Just a beautiful piece of art and I could listen to it constantly.

I remember one of the reviewers (a positive review) writing about how frustrating it must be for Axl to transcribe the grandiose, epic songs he's got crashing in his head down on paper... only to end up with some really great stuff... but never the PERFECT song he knows that's out there....

Well... I think he finally succeeded here. It's THAT good. Congrats Axl... and congrats to the band.beer

^I've kinda rediscovered this song recently too. I'd say it's now one of my favourites on CD.

I especially like that "I saw the damage in you" line. Cool

I liked it from the very beginning, but as with the rest of the album

it just grows and grows on you.

What a great closing track for the album. yes

Yeah... the more and more I hear "Prostitute"... the more and more I think it's every bit as good as "Sweet Child O' Mine" (which Tommy Stinson allegedly claimed 8 or 9 years ago! You were right Tommy!), "November Rain" and "Estranged". The only difference is that it hasn't yet been surrounded with the same "fanfare" (i.e. video, live performance, single, etc.)... but one can hope!

Anyway, in order to be considered legitimate... any future "Best of GN'R" collections that ever see the light of day MUST contain "Prostitute" IMHO... It's on par with the best of the old band.

Prostitute has overtaken TWAT as my favorite song on the album.  Axl's lyrics, which to me are saying he may not always be right but he has always done what he believed was right given the circumstances in both his personal life and in the music world, are some of the most honest he has written.  And the melody has such a simple, bittersweet elegance to it.  It always sticks in my head
