But the beginning of a new one.

November 2008 is one for the history books, and I'm just excited to have been able to witness history in the making - with both the Presidential election and the release of Chinese Democracy - plus the whole Dr. Pepper thing!

It's been a pleasure... no, wait, it hasn't!  But really, all these years people have looked at me strangely or thrown it back in my face every time I've talked about the "nu-gnr" and today I finally held CD in my hand.  The space I created in my head for the album is now filled.

Thanks Jarmo and the HTGTH board-members, and thank you to the band.

C'mon guys...it's not the end of anything!  Sure we foamed at the mouth for 12 years for this album, and now we have it...maybe no more rumor threads, no more hours on the refresh button waiting for some big announcement about Chinese Democracy,  but we now have an album, a potential '09 tour, new merch to look forward to, and dare I say...potentially 2 more albums to foam about if ChiDem ever gets boring {to talk about}.

Don't be sad, celebrate Chinese Democracy, and look forward to a bright future.   Thanks Jarmo, et al,  see you "Here Today..." and tommorow, and the next day...  ok

My post wasn't FEEDBACK about HTGTH...   I included a thank you to the GN'R community as a whole - it wasn't a(nother) Thank you Jarmo thread...

It was about the End of an Era for Guns N' Roses
The release of CD does mark the end of an Era..!
(regardless of what happens next/now)

I hope this has not been said previously but if so it is worth saying again
Htgth forum is an extremely happy and exciting place to be right now
I have been reading posts here for close on 10 yes but rarely have posted

What jarmo has given us is a community, a family of brothers and sisters united
thank you and the moderators for giving us this environment

It has been a hell of a journey

For Axl his excitement must be amazing but no doubt he reads such public forums ESP these few days and it must be a great sense of achievement that his artistic project can create such joy for so many

Thanks Axl, thanks jarmo and thank all you members for making such a family a possibility and a reality

Happy Place post includes "Its been a hell of a journey" but thats not the TOPIC of the "Happy Place" post - not even close to being the posters POINT

Happy Place post says : "Htgth forum is an extremely happy and exciting place to be right now..."
Happy Place post is ABOUT HERE TODAY GONE TO HELL (ergo the title of the thread "Happy Place")

"Its the End of an Era" is specifically NOT about what's going on right now and is NOT about the "Here Today Gone To Hell" site or forum....

Then who are these "you all" you're thanking if NOT Jarmo at the HTGTH site and the rest of us on this forum?  Huh

Thank you all for sharing it with me.

Like I (already) said above I included a thank you to the community but that is not what the thread is about.

it was not a THANKS TO EVERYONE AT HTGTH post
it was not a THANKS JARMO post
it was ot a THANK GOD FOR HTGTH post  etc.

i understand about keeping posts NOT about the band off the main board

which is why i'm trying to figure out if that was the issue with the post (that I included a thank you to the community)

it was not the PURPOSE of my post

it also included a thank you to THE MEMBERS AND CONTRIBUTORS OF GUNS N ROSES for all they've done in this era...

THE POINT was reflected in the Thread Title "Its the End of an Era"

how does that got merged with a topic about "what a happy place" HTGTH is right now?

it was to reflect on how the release of CD marked the end of an Era in Guns N' Roses

some responded it meant the beginning of a new era

that is what it was about

not about "oh htgth is such a happy place now, thank you jarmo, etc."

it was ABOUT THE BAND not about HTGTH or Jarmo etc.

"Its the End of an Era" is specifically NOT about what's going on right now and is NOT about the "Here Today Gone To Hell" site or forum....

look its simple

Happy Place post - about HTGTH site/forum

End of Era post - about Guns N Roses

Happy Place post - about how exciting and fun the forum is "right now"

End of Era post - about a period of time in Guns N' Roses history ie: the making of CD... which is in the past

Bottom line:

Is the End of an Era post not a fit topic for discussion on the main GN'R board in the judgement of the mods and admins of this forum?

If not I'd like to know why, please.  Thank you.

I PM'd all the mods...    wish I had got a message from the mod who moved it so at least I'd know who I should be asking about it.

I've heard back from 3 mods who don't know anything about it...

thanks for those who have replied

Since CD came out, I honestly haven't seen a lot of mod activity.................... maybe they are all locked away listening to CD?

haha!  well no matter... i re-posted the topic

which was then moved to dead horse

so i guess discussing the guys who made cd is 'dead horse'...    perhaps it shoulda really been moved to the ex-gunners section!
so sad
