Stone Roses, Blur, Suede, Elastica, Happy Mondays - all from the late 80's/early 90's "Madchester" scene..

Joy Division should be required listening before each of the above though, start at the begininng and see how the above were influenced..

He asked for GNR type rock not crappy Manc new wave.

OK...I'll play along..

How 'bout..

The Crue, LA Guns, Warrant, Poison, Lita Ford, Ratt, Cinderella, Quiet Riot and anything that emerged from the Sunset Strip 80's scene.. Roll Eyes

Now - back to our regularly scheduled programming....

Zodiac Mindwarp and The Love Reaction, The Four Horseman and Life, Sex and Death are all worth a listen..

"Rawk" enough for ya??

Any need to rip?

anyways.

RATT were very good in their prime, as were Cinderella.

@Slash666, dont be so ignorant, half of those bands were the rave bands. That isnt new wave. Its infact very psychedelic with some awesome drumming and grooves.  Stone Roses were very guitar oriented.

Blur on the other hand = lets fall asleep.

You mean you don't like the masterpiece that is Song 2!?!?  Shocked
