I am the kind of gal that only drives a car for a couple of years and then I trade, it seemed it might be a hassle that way.  As it stands right now, my lovely Vette I bought last year, did not come with a front plate, nor does it have a place to put one without ruining my car.  I have been pulled over twice this summer and they gave me a 125 dollar ticket for it.  I have a court date this upcoming Monday in regards to this.  I am not going to ruin my expensive beautiful car by drilling into my paint, so they can just keep giving me tickets as far as I'm concerned.  Good thing It is not an every day driver, summer time and dry weather only.

Thats kinda odd... I thought federal regulations required both front and back holders, but maybe it just goes on state law.... If you keep getting $125 tickets you could just as easily take it to a good body shop and get one professionally installed, and will not harm the car if done right..

Plus i'm surprised the car passed inspection w/o it..... If they feel like being assholes the next time you go to get an inspection, they could fail it....

I know it is required by law in NJ to have front and back. PA requires only back.

Not sure how it goes in other states...

Right, but all vehicles have to meet state/federal laws.. You would like holders for the plates would be front and back mandatory, worst case the front would be empty in places like PA..

Title: Re: My new GnR license plates
Post by: Albert S Miller on September 16, 2009, 11:51:26 AM
WA state requires both front and back as well.  The car was shipped here from Las Vegas, and I am guessing the law may only require rear, but don't know that to be a fact.  The thing is, I have seen alot of them since I have been pulled over, it made me start to  pay attention to the others, and fact of the matter is about 8 out of 10 I see do not have them on theirs either, a few of them I have actually been able to question in regards to the matter and they say they have never been bothered.  I am sort of under the conclusion it could be the color that may be drawing more attention my way "Victory Red", all others I have questioned or seen have been other colors.  It is hard to say.  I also own a 87 corvette roadster, it has front plate on it and was built with a proper spot.  The new one just left no place to even mount it, and truthfully speaking if I have to put one it will look like crap.  Hard decision to make really.  If I were to drive the car every day I suppose I would be finding a way, but since I have only put less than 2000 miles on it in a year, and only drive in summer months, I may just take my chances, we'll see what Mr. Judge has to say come Monday lol.

Title: Re: My new GnR license plates
Post by: XxWickeds10xX on September 16, 2009, 12:17:23 PM
I tried without the "FN", but it was taken...so someone must have GNR plates somewhere in NY.

This car is my 40+mpg daily driver, camaro only a toy. Alot more exposure for the plates on this car...lol ;)

BTW, I bought my Camaro in PA where on the rear plate is required, so the car didnt have the holder up front at all. Here in NY 2 plates are required. It only took one run in with the fuzz to make me wanna put the front plate on. $125 each time, and you still wont fix it? Then you kinda deserve to get hassled. Only took a few minutes and the job was done, no more court dates and hassle. Like mentioned above, if your not able to do it, bring it to a body shop and have it done the right way. Problem solved.

I have never seen a Corvette with front plates here in fantastic L.A.  And I always keep an eye out, because as it stands now, the Corvette is my favorite car that GM manufactures.

RIP Monte Carlo.  Hope they revive the Monte Carlo again in the future.

Washington is one of the most fucked up states when it comes to laws.

The reason they demand the front plate here in WA is because it has some type of special something :P so they scan the plate from within their cruiser.  I swear the first time that they pulled me over the cop was so pissed off at me that he was spitting on me, it was yucky. He completely thought that I had stolen the car, even though all my credentials proved me to be the legal owner.  He then went to his car ran my info, came back told me that he could give me a 125 dollar ticket for the offense and then proceeded to ask me if I wanted the ticket.  I couldn't believe he was asking me when it was he with the authority, In return I told him do what ever it is you have to do because I really wanted to get on with my day and that this really wasn't apart of it, so he then let me go with a warning, within a month I got pulled over again but by a sheriff this time, and he said because I had previously been warned it was ticky time.    Honestly when I bought the car it never even occured to me that I needed one.  I figured if it didn't come with it, and there was no place available to put one, led me to believe it wasn't necessary on this particular vehicle.

Right about now NWA court is in full effect.
Judge Dre presiding in the case of NWA versus the police department.
Prosecuting attourneys are MC Ren Ice Cube and Eazy muthafuckin E.
Order order order. Ice Cube take the muthafuckin stand.
Do you swear to tell the truth the whole truth
and nothin but the truth so help your black ass?

Why don't you tell everybody what the fuck you gotta say?

Fuck tha police
Comin straight from the underground
Young nigga got it bad 'cause I'm brown
And not the other color so police think
They have the authority to kill a minority

Fuck that shit, 'cause I ain't tha one
For a punk muthafucka with a badge and a gun
To be beatin on, and throwin in jail
We could go toe to toe in the middle of a cell

Fuckin with me 'cause I'm a teenager
With a little bit of gold and a pager
Searchin my car, lookin for the product
Thinkin every nigga is sellin narcotics

You'd rather see me in the pen
Then me and Lorenzo rollin in the Benzo
Beat tha police outta shape
And when I'm finished, bring the yellow tape
To tape off the scene of the slaughter
Still can't swallow bread and water

I don't know if they fags or what
Search a nigga down and grabbin his nuts
And on the other hand, without a gun they can't get none
But don't let it be a black and a white one
'cause they slam ya down to the street top
Black police showin out for the white cop

Ice Cube will swarm
On any muthafucka in a blue uniform
Just 'cause I'm from the CPT, punk police are afraid of me
A young nigga on a warpath
And when I'm finished, it's gonna be a bloodbath
Of cops, dyin in LA
Yo Dre, I got somethin to say

Fuck the police (4X)

M. C. Ren, will you please give your testimony to the jury about this fucked up incident.>

Fuck tha police and Ren said it with authority
because the niggaz on the street is a majority.
A gang, is with whoever I'm stepping
and the motherfuckin' weapon
is kept in a stash box, for the so-called law
wishin' Ren was a nigga that they never saw

Lights start flashin behind me
But they're scared of a nigga so they mace me to blind me
But that shit don't work, I just laugh
Because it gives em a hint not to step in my path

To the police I'm sayin fuck you punk
Readin my rights and shit, it's all junk
Pullin out a silly club, so you stand
With a fake assed badge and a gun in your hand

But take off the gun so you can see what's up
And we'll go at it punk, I'ma fuck you up

Make ya think I'm a kick your ass
But drop your gat, and Ren's gonna blast
I'm sneaky as fuck when it comes to crime
But I'm a smoke em now, and not next time

Smoke any muthafucka that sweats me
Or any assho that threatens me
I'm a sniper with a hell of a scope
Takin out a cop or two, they can't cope with me

The muthafuckin villian that's mad
With potential to get bad as fuck
So I'm a turn it around
Put in my clip, yo, and this is the sound
Ya, somethin like that, but it all depends on the size of the gat

Takin out a police would make my day
But a nigga like Ren don't give a fuck to say

Fuck the police (4X)

Police, open now. We have a warrant for Eazy-E's arrest.
Get down and put your hands up where I can see em.
Just shut the fuck up and get your muthafuckin ass on the floor.
[huh?]>

and tell the jury how you feel abou this bullshit.>

I'm tired of the muthafuckin jackin
Sweatin my gang while I'm chillin in the shackin
Shining tha light in my face, and for what
Maybe it's because I kick so much butt

I kick ass, or maybe 'cause I blast
On a stupid assed nigga when I'm playin with the trigga
Of any Uzi or an AK
'cause the police always got somethin stupid to say

They put up my picture with silence
'cause my identity by itself causes violence
The E with the criminal behavior
Yeah, I'm a gansta, but still I got flavor

Without a gun and a badge, what do ya got?
A sucka in a uniform waitin to get shot,
By me, or another nigga.
and with a gat it don't matter if he's smarter or bigger
[MC Ren: Sidle him, kid, he's from the old school, fool]

And as you all know, E's here to rule
Whenever I'm rollin, keep lookin in the mirror
And there's no cue, yo, so I can hear a
Dumb muthafucka with a gun

And if I'm rollin off the 8, he'll be tha one
That I take out, and then get away
And while I'm drivin off laughin
This is what I'll say

Fuck the police (4X)

The jury has found you guilty of bein a redneck,
whitebread, chickenshit muthafucka.
Wait, that's a lie. That's a goddamn lie.
I want justice! I want justice!
Fuck you, you black muthafucka!>

Fuck the police (3X)

Just for the record...Mr Judge reduced my fine from 125.00 to 70.00 and told me that he hopes I find a solution to my lisence plate woes, so that I can enjoy driving my lovey car.  I had the option of chosing to deferr the ticket, but that option cost the same amount as the face value of the ticket itself, however it would not have went on my record, I chose to pay the fine, as it isn't even considered a moving violation, I have a clean record so it is certainly not going to hurt.  Case closed .

I totally agree. Take the ticket and dont hurt the VETTE.  Besides that they look like shit with the front plate!

I have to admit it would completely takes away from the look of the car, but I ultimately have to find a solution in order to drive legally here in Wa, I would love to be a complete REBEL, but it is just going to be a hassle as it has been previously, I hate getting pulled over it is embarrassing, it somehow makes me feel like a child being reprimanded by my parents lol.

http://www.heretodaygonetohell.com/board/index.php?topic=53134.0  There you are!!!  Just bought a 1969 Stingray Roadster, kind of Reddish Orange with Black hard top or soft top as well on Friday.  Haven't taken any pictures yet, but will do so soon  We also have a 87 Roadster Convertable with 75,000 original miles this one is Maroon with Creme top, I think you may be able to see a part of it in the pics with the newer one, in the background.  That one is not my favorite year, but is rare as it has the 4 plus 3 transmission, not many made. They are all fun regardless : ok:.  P.S.  you can see there is no obvious room for a plate lol....

Thank You!!  Yes I would say we like Vettes, we love Chevrolet all the way.  I love the old school camaro's as well, 67 to be exact ;).  I don't choose to call it being rich, I call it alot of hard work, saving up, and being established, we are in our mid 40's, so we have previously experienced what alot have yet to establish here, and I am positive good fortune is on the way for all those who seek the same :).  Am I right?

Sounds like you are on the right path, but one thing we had decided was to stop making someone else all the money, you need to be the business owner, it is like renting, you are paying someone elses mortgage for them, when you could be establishing your own, and making the $$$ for yourself : ok:.  Well I am no finance expert, you'll have to read up on Duff's column in Playboy if you want some true advice lol...
