Nice editing.  Cool way of getting one point across.  ok

This thread has nothing to do with your guitar hero American Idol.

Those of you still harping over the GnR name issue ALL THESE YEARS LATER need to fuck off and go somewhere else already.  sick of that bullshit.   Axl kept the GnR name.   Accept it or fuck off.  I'm tired of hearing about it.

On topic, hope the show happens.  Isreal hasn't seen Guns N' Roses in almost 16 years, so they are due for a show or two right?

think a show in israel may present some kind of security threat? given the situation in that part of the world Undecided

I was in Israel 3 weeks ago, no problem, it's calm right now Smiley
Just don't put your feet into the palestinian territories because that's where it's really dangerous, it's full of Islamist terrorists. But as long as you stay in Israel with the Israelis, you're at home. I took a drink at the Sheraton Hotel, the Hotel was full of Americans and I remember I was thinkin' "that would be a great Hotel for GN'R".  they feel like home in Israel  Wink

I'm sure they would be given a security team big enough to handle any problems should they play there.

From The Jerusalem Post...

May 14, 2009

Meanwhile, local media have been reporting that final negotiations are underway to bring Madonna here as the closing date of her worldwide Sticky and Sweet tour. The show would take place around the High Holidays, with the singer expected to stay here for a few days. And Guns N' Roses, with Chinese Democracy finally off its back, are also pencilled in for a late-summer or autumn show, according to Channel 1. The band played here in 1993, but only frontman Axl Rose remains from that lineup.

Dizzy is not an original member, that's probably what it means in the article.

The worst thing about these "unconfirmed" dates is that when this, in all likelihood, is confirmed as being false, people will start bitching and moaning about how Axl screwed them again.   hihi

not on this board.

That's good.

Unfortunately, regardless of whether those slanderous posts are allowed to stay here, the perception remains w/ some fans and the general public, nonetheless. Reuters or Blabbermouth will run some "GNR back out of tour plans" bullshit. Next thing you know, the shit storm will kick off from the dense and clueless. That's the part alot of fans overlook. These "innocent" rumors can really have a negative impact on the band and their image.

Well, the Jerusalem Post says "pencilled in" meaning tentatively...I'm not sure of the wording in the original article.

We'll have to wait and see, I hope it's true.  Smiley

What went so badly at the 1993 show?

I have no idea.

"The first and only time Guns N 'Roses played Israel was in July 1993 at the Park Hayarkon in Tel Aviv. That show has been considered since, one of the worst in the band's history.

It seems that it's time for Axl Rose and his new band to be given a chance to correct the impression that the old band gave the Israeli audience. (Mako)"

This?

In the middle of the set, the band break into a rousing rendition of "Hava Nagila". Axl wears a Guns N' Moses t-shirt. (http://www.heretodaygonetohell.com/history/history93.php)

Other than that, don't know.....

16 years ago...I doubt the writer themselves went to the show.

Here is "Live and Let Die" from the Paul Mc Cartney Show last year at Park Ayarkon (Tel Aviv) :

as you can see, it won't be easy to bring so many people. It's a 50.000 people venue. Park Ayarkon is big.
