I've liked Korn since the beginning. So lemme go through this, and keep in mind this is just my opinion.

S/T - Really love this album. It introduced the band and unlike the next couple albums hasn't really aged all that bad.

Life is Peachy - Not a bad album, but not a worthy follow-up to S/T either. Basically a let down at the time, but in retrospect I enjoy at least a few of the songs.

Follow the Leader - The band's most dated album and worst album overall. I don't like nu metal. Korn isn't a nu metal band. This is their only album in that style.

Issues - Korn's best album to that point. This is the line for most fans who either stuck with the band or left them.

Untouchables - Korn's darkest album to date. As Korn's sound got more experimental, the band lost what remained of its nu metal fanbase. A love it or hate it album. My favorite Korn album. Hasn't been outdone by them since.

Take a Look in the Mirror - A decent album with some really cool songs, but suffers LiP syndrome in following up one of their best efforts. It's less focused and the most tired the band has sounded.

See You on the Other Side - Korn's "comeback" album. The Matrix or not, some of Korn's best songs. Atticus Ross' production breathes new life into the band.

"untitled" - Korn's second S/T and most recent album is easily in my top three for them, and it grows on me all the time. A dark, heavy affair that loses many of the commercial posturings of SYotOS. Recommended.

great post. I agree with most of it. All albuns have great music and great lyrics.

The first S/T KoRn album is one of the most powerfull songs "Daddy"...it's pretty much as dark as it gets

Thanks beer

Yeah, I mean there's really something there for every Korn fan on any given album. Despite the fact they've had their fair share of misses, there's a lot of great material in their catalogue. I wish more people could view a band like Korn, or any band for that matter, in more of an overall sense in terms of body of work. A lot of people have this unspoken understanding that to like a band you have to prefer their earlier work, and while with a lot of bands I can see that really being the case, there are bands like Korn who can actually develop and grow into something altogether more mature. Sure, the first album's a minor masterpiece to some, but to discredit later albums like Issues or Untouchables because you have to remain firm in this whole "Oh yeah, well I like the old stuff but then they sold out" arguement that people apply to any given band, that's really too bad.

Saw Korn with Disturbed on Saturday night. I used to be a huge Korn fan 10-12 years ago, then I just kinda stopped for some reason. Well, after seeing them again, I remembered why I was a hardcore fan. Fuck these guys are great live still. JD is one hell of a frontman, amazing show. The crowd went apeshit for Korn. Then when Disturbed came on the crowd was pretty calm, haha.

Honestly iv tried, but i can't get into the first Korn Album.

I became a fan of Korn when Issues came out and became even more interested in the band when untouchables came out as well. Loved the "Here to stay" song.

I hate the first album, and i think its the most dated one to be honest. Its kinda like Limp Bizkit's first album, the production is not as clear as the other albums, and its too rough for me.

Being a Korn fan i prefer the new metal phase with Issues, follow the Leader and Untouchables being my favorite albums.

I hated the "Untitled" album... absolutely worthless...

I liked 1 or 2 songs from the "see you on the other side" album, but greatly missed Brian Welch on it! It wasn't that great of an album.

Any album after Head went out of Korn is not that great anyways.

Take a look in the Mirror is Korn's last really good album.

Haven't checked the new one though

The new album is available for streaming. I like it a lot. It's very different, which is good. I'm sick of hearing Theory of a NickelSeetherPunch.
