Taking out an ad...
«
on:
March 18, 2004, 08:58:03 PM »
Someone mentioned taking out an ad in a paper in the vein of the other ad saying something akin to "We support you Axl." I say we take out an ad somewhere and list our grievances, similar to the Declaration of Independance. We say what we think should happen, and why.
I think we've learned that it takes a catalyst to get official news. Someone leaving, a lawsuit, etc. I think it's damn near time to take this into our hands.
I think it's time us GnR fans had a Boston Tea Party.

I like the way you think. But it will be a waste of money.

We GN'R fans already have a bad rep as it is. An ad listing our grievances would just make it worse.

Worse... or better?
And would it really be a waste of money? At least we can say we didn't just sit here and take all the bullshit.

i agree with an ad but i think it should be a support thing with the only request being an update on whats going on with CD. I think it's something he should do to keep the loyal fans loyal

I still like the idea of an all night vigual outside of Axl's estate, if he won't come to us, let's go to him....

I like that idea as well... Have it run in shifts so there is literally a large group there 24/7.
That would be nuts.

Let's be honest, even if we printed up and sold tickets, organized a huge stage an sound system, invited a couple of opening bands, the chances of Axl showing are pretty slim, even if it is his house. He'd probably be off in Philly or something....

I was thinking this myself. Get 50,000 GNR Fans to sit outside Axl's house chanting "WE WANT THE ALBUM" or something to that extent...or just to let him know how pissed we are...how about sitting there chanting "WE WANT SLASH". Regardless-we stay there until we have official news from Axl's Mouth, and until we've heard new material.
The police and/or Military cant get 50,000 people to leave-and I actually think the media would find it hilarious!!

And I just about guarantee you we can't get 50,000 people organized enough to not argue over the height of Bucket's, well, Bucket - let alone coordinate enough to hold a vigil outside the red headed recluse's home.

"I'm sure Axl won't come to YOUR house and force you to buy a CD or a concert ticket either - even if some of you would like the idea."
LOL
You can say that twice and mean it, he won't even show up for a show in my town after signing contracts and having tickets sold

I'm pretty sure Axl is aware of our grievances and our disappointments. He probably reads messages boards like this one once in a while or has somebody report him what's going on.
But does it make a difference? I don't think so.
