I heard a beautiful song on the radio on my way home from work.  The song was called, "Somewhere Only We Know". I didn't know who it was by, so I had to do a search. It's an awesome band called, Keane. I don't know how I missed this band. They have so many great songs.

If u like boring, slow, unremarkable music they are for u - if not, well....

they don't even have a guitar in there - argh so plain, i'd rather watch paint try - even the average pop song shows more intrest in itself than Keane manage.

I'm more drawn to a slow melody and introspective lyrics. Pop songs, or songs with heavy guitars are like action movies, they're entertaining, but what do they leave you with? It's just nice to have something to relate to.

I think Keane have a couple of decent tunes, but fuck they are so BORING and uninteresting with it.  Someone with a bit of passion needs to give them a kick up the ass!  Too many wimpy synths.  They were truly invented for the uneducated British music-buying public.

as for there being lots of great bands in Britain at the moment, please nlighten me.  Msatodon are a good band, but they didn't get a Brit nomination.  British music sucks ass.  The only mainstream band that seem to be doing anything halfway decent are Kasabian, but they're hardly electrifying.  Maybe they are if you're a Keane fan though?!

you dont need a guitar to sound have a band duuuuuuur... a shit load of bands dont have a lead guitar and fucking rule (i.e. - dave matthews band, while dave plays acoustic their real lead guitar is a violin and is bangin at it.) plus synth is cool. i'll take synth over generic guitar solos from modern rock anyday.
