The story

Our efforts to get an interview with Buckethead were, unsurprisingly, rejected.

David Lefkowiitz, Buckethead's manager, stated that in 2004 Buckethead had rejected interviews from all major music magazines including Spin, Guitar Player and Rolling Stone. David then went on to say that Buckethead had also recently deleted his email address ensuring that there was no direct way of contacting him.

When asked if Buckethead was in good health after a turbulent 2004, David said that he's still the same old Buckethead.

And this is from Axl's press release on BH's departure:
Quote
His transient lifestyle has made it impossible for even his closest friends to have nearly any form of communication with him whatsoever.

Bla...dontcha think its somehow connected with his unwillingness to talk on G&R, which the interviewers, I guarantee you, will try to do???ts not about him being crazy I think, its just another piece in the mystery called "new G&R"

Maybe he Wants to show that he didn't go to GNR for the Fame.
Obsiously these magazines would have asked about his departure from GNR.

If BH intended to use GNR as a stepping stone for his career, he would've been plastered all over these rags giving his account of the acrimonious breakup like Michael Jackson all up on a Barbara Walters special....

He scared me first time I saw him. I sat down and watched RIR3 for the first time and when Buckethead started his nun-chukas-thing I was totally shocked. But when I bought Giant Robot & Monsters And Robots I found out he's a great musician and makes great records.

Whats your point, and how is this really that much different from the way Axl himself chooses to conduct things?

I also wonder if, like Axl, Buckethead has a prior reputation for being difficult to deal with...

Anybody who follows Big B or does atleast a little research into his past projects will find that everyone who has recorded with him in the past have gone on to say nothing but glorious things about him as a performer and a person. Speak to Bill Laswell , Choptop , Travis Dickerson etc etc ... all have praised him.

You dont become a part of over 100 "side projects" if you are hard to deal with.

Bucketheads gotta get off his high horse and loosen the fuck up!!
If Buckethead were any more loose he'd break down into his component parts, and no-one wants that Tongue

I think it's refreshing to not have to deal with sour ramblings and bitter recriminations when someone leaves GNR. I also think it's very cool, respectful even,  of Buckethead to keep the story under his hat. Or his bucket. Whatever.

They should have tried to contact Herbie instead of Buckethead, he seems to be the brains.

has anyone seen the interview with ozzy about buckethead-  (i think it was on muchmoremusic here in canada)-
where ozzy says he met with him to join his band or something (this was after he left gnr).      if you hav'nt,  its hilarious-

he talks about how he wanted buckethead to not wear his mask-  so instead he wore a different alien mask-  and how he wanted to use his real name (wich i cant remember now)   but BH said only his mom can call him by his real name-
ozzy gave up-  but gave him respect in the interview as well

Never seen a solo show eh kid?  Maybe he was asleep...how long did he have to wait to play someone else's parts LOL!   hihi  Remember Rio, when Axl put his hand on BH's shoulder during patience, it looked like he woke him up... hihi
