My mate recently got me this awesome album. It's by Manowar and it's called Fighting The World. I think it's a fantastic album and i think they're even better than Maiden possibly. Who else is a Manowar fan?

I am.  ok They're not as good as Maiden, but they're one of the best American power metal bands out there. Get their first album, Battle Hymns, since it's one of their easiest to get into, yet not quite as commercial as Fighting the World. It's their best, I'd say. After that, get Sign of the Hammer, their 4th and 2nd best album in my opinion. If you really like Fighting the World, get Kings of Metal, since it's a commercial album like FtW, but better. FtW is a bit too short.

After that, if you really like them, get Into Glory Ride and Hail to England, in that order. I would avoid anything they've done after Kings of Metal, however. They really went downhill after that one.

EDIT: If you like Manowar, check out Brocas Helm, Jag Panzer, Iced Earth, and Agent Steel. They're good bands that resemble Manowar in some ways. They're American power metal!

Agreed, get all the 80s material. Sign of the Hammer is my fave, but Kings of Metal is probably the easiest to get into.

Manowar fucking rule.  The only bad thing with them is listening to them makes me want to fight people who don't like metal and become a viking.

They're amazing live, though. They're the loudest band of all time (fuck Oasis, remember that thread? Wink). Heavy duty earplugs are required if you want to save your hearing. It's so loud, you can FEEL the music going through you.
